How do I get rid of it?

Quote  |  Reply
Hello everyone,

I am trying to work my gluteus but it's a little difficult becuase I really don't know what excersises work it specifically. I am exercising everyday but I have noticed that I need to work this area a little more if I plan on going to the beach on my honeymoon :)

Any ideas on how to get rid of the excess there?

Thanks!!!

Squats, and lunges work great. There is one other excercise that I find works really well.  In a standing position, bring one foot forward as if to curtsy, leaving the other foot behind you, your thighs will be crossed and bend both knees so your body is goes straight down. It's one of the best moves i've found

Hi Jillianw, I just tried that excercise and I do feel it! Thanks :) Just to make sure, I bed my upperbody forward, correct? I don't bend at the kneed and kinda squat down.... I just want to make sure I have it right ;)

Thanks!

I do lunges with weights (dumb bells), squats with a weighted bar across my shoulders (working my way up to adding weights to it) and squats holding medicine balls.  I also do split lunges-stand with back to bench, put weighted bar across shoulders and place top of one foot on bench behind you.  Lower you body straight down by bending the other leg, making sure that your knee doesn't go beyond your foot.  It takes a little coordination but this is a great exercise.  You may want to start without the weighted bar at first.  It's impossible to spot-lose weight but incorporating like these and the ones above will help you reach your goal.  You will definitely feel that you've worked the glutes the next day!

Thank you artskyblue. I will def try those at home, without the weights of course cuz I have non LOL My husband always works out during lunch and I think I might join him..... I was doing cardio alone and it's ok....not as fun as when there is several ppl in a room sweating with you :) I will def try those out today!!!

There is a great glute workout on the womens health magazine website, I have been using it for a few weeks now and definitely feel the burn! The bonus to this workout is that they show video's of every move, I find it so much easier to see a rep in action rather than have it explained to me.

Good luck! and have a great honeymoon :)
