Ring in the New Year 10lbs Lighter! Who's with me?

Quote  |  Reply

What a great way to stay on track throughout the holidays and start losing the weight before the new year rather than putting it off until it's time to make resolutions.

I'm looking to lose 10lbs by then. We'll have weigh-ins every Friday. I'll even throw in a little "fitness-friendly" goodie bag for everyone who completes the challenge and sticks to the weigh-in deadlines. Who's with me?

Join now. The first weigh in will be next Friday (Nov. 14, 2008)

I would love to join this challenge!  Do we need to post stats on the 14th?  I really need a challenge to motivate me to lose weight.  My husband and I are going to Mexico for a week in July and I'm looking to lose 30 lbs by then!

I believe it's 8 if you start working out/watching your diet today. We just won't start posting results until next Friday.

Count me in!

Did you want our starting weights today?

And goals for each week, or just weigh-ins?

Let's post our starting weight and goals every Friday starting Nov 14. This will give more people a chance to join the group since I just posted this message this morning. But don't let that stop you from starting your weight loss efforts today! Good luck everyone!

Count me in, too.  I need to get back on the horse, and these motivational groups seem to be one of the best ways for me to stay mindful - needed all the more as I head into the second, more intense half of my final semester of school.

I would love to join! What a perfect time of year to stay focused with all the Holidays coming. I've been a member of CC since last Spring but kind of fell off the wagon, but I'm back and could use some motivation to keep me going!

YAHOOOO!  Count me in as well!

Nice to meet you all!  I am freezing here in Utah and looking for some motivation!  See you guys on the 14th!

Count me in, too! I hope this challenge will motivate me.

Hi,

Do you have any space left, I would love to be part of a motivational group.

Diane

Ooooohh I'd love to join!!! A little competition would be awesome to get me back on track! =)

I would love to join too!!!!  ThanksSmile

yes, i love this idea. i'm in!

wow. It looks like we already have a great group forming here. Don't forget. First weigh in his this Friday, Nov. 14. Post whatever info you need to reach your goal. For some people that may be weight, others might be concerned with body fat percentage or inches, so you can post that as well. Then, state your goal.

For a little motivation, I came across some good articles. My trainer told me something the other day that boggled my mind. He said if i wanted to burn fat to actually slow down when doing my cardio routine. What?!?! I did a little more research into what he was saying and came across this interesting article: http://www.buzzle.com/articles/torch-body-fat -quickly-with-this-strategic-cardio-workout.h tml

Here's some helpful articles from Shape.com if you're bored or not seeing results from your current cardio routine.:

Please everyone feel free to share tips or articles you come across. Laughing

Hi Everyone,

I am a Canadian living in Australia so I can not use the weather to get out of exercising, although I am sure I will try. We have been living here for 4 months so now it is time to get my butt out of the holiday mode and get some work done.

Diane

I'd like to join if possible.. have been "watching" calories, but have just recently started running in the AM to get the weight loss really going! I've never done a group challenge but it sounds like a lot of fun!

I have to admit I'm very scared for the weigh-in tomorrow. I've had yet another terrible week and can't seem to get myself together!

Hopefully it will be under 110 so I can still hope to reach my ultimate New Year's goal.

*crosses fingers*

Ok so its friday night here in NZ now.

start weight: 161

New Year - 10 pounds = 151 (fingers crossed!!! actually Id be very happy if I reach 154)

Good luck for every one else!!!!

starting weight: 114

goal weight: 104

Height: 5'1"

Good lucky everyone!! ^_^
