RMR or BMR higher?

Quote  |  Reply

At caloriesperhour.com I get

The results of your calculations are:  BMR 1,299   RMR 1,192 (calories)

(a higher BMR)

Whereas phord gives me:
BMR=1217 :: RMR=1460

(a higher RMR)

So is BMR generally less or more than RMR?

BMR is less than RMR

BMR - think 'coma' (basic life functions only, no movement)

RMR - think 'couch potato' (as above + eating, drinking, walking to and from refrigerator etc.).
