Where to go to get RMR measured??

Quote  |  Reply
I get the feeling my metabolism is a bit different than the calculations on this site. I've seen some people on here have had their RMR measured with a machine. Where do I go to get that done and how much does it cost? Do I go to a doctor, dietician, health club, or what? How did you find someone in your area?

Hmmm, nobody has any ideas? I checked with my gym and they don't have one of those machine thingys.

Maybe ask your doctor? *shrug*

I would love to know also.  My gym doesn't offer it and we are in a somewhat secluded area.  Should I check with a dietician in a large city or a gym or the doctor's office?  It sounds like it could be really beneficial to actually know - not just guess your BMR.

Just a quick follow up... I finally found out that our local community college has a professor that does free RMR testing. I went this morning and had it done. Apparently, my RMR is 1640. Now, I've just got to figure out exactly what to do with that number, lol! Anyone else wanting their RMR tested might check with their local community college.
