Roll Call!! December 2008 Exercise Challenge

Quote  |  Reply

How much do you want to exercise a month?
How can you push yourself out that door when the last thing you want to do is go to the gym?
Easy - Challenge yourself!!!
Pick a goal and work towards it!!!

What is exercise you ask?

It is whatever you do over and above your normal everyday activity. If you start taking the stairs instead of the elevator due to your wanting to improve your health this is exercise - if you park further from the door and
walk extra - this is exercise. However if your work requires you to be on your feet running around all day - this is lifestyle and not exercise and should be added to your "activity level" in your account. I think its important for you to be honest with yourself so you will truly get the benefit of this challenge.

This should be interesting to say we have christmas and new years mingled in this month!!!  Will try my best though Cool

I just posted my final numbers for November, broke the 2000 mark by 130 minutes!  I'm going for 2000 again.  Will post todays numbers later, after spin class. :)

Backing down a level.  I did not do well last month and have to work my way back up.  I will make my goal this month!!!! I just have to push harder.

86/2000 (edit - added 35 min lunch time Piloga class)

Backing down from 2000. Oh, heck! I changed it back to 2000... this is a challenge ain't it! Wink

Please put 1000 minutes back into the exercise challenge. It used to be there. I wanted to do 1000 minutes last month but it wasn't an option so I left it at 750 and I didn't even make it because it was 'too easy' and I thought I could make up last little bit of time standing on my head so I never did it. (I know, it's my own fault and nobody made me skip exercise but me!) But I won't have anywhere near enough time in December for 1250 minutes. So if I go for that I'll give up because I won't get anywhere near it and I know it. It's a psychological thing... the jump from 750 - 1250 is too big to encourage people to try for that little bit more if they're wavering.

Will discuss this as a group and decide, for now I put yours in with 750

Had to go down a level. Won't have as much time....but I think 1250 is a good amount anyways!!

I'm going on a 2 week vacation on December 22nd, where I intend to exercise, but I won't be able to report the progress. So I guess I should adjust my usual goal to only 3 weeks.

Today: 35 min very brisk walk to the gym + BodyAttack + BodyPump + BodyJam + BodyFlow =

275/1800.

I'm exhausted.

I put you in the 1750 group -- let me know if you'd prefer the 2000 mins -- 1800 is not a category.

2000 seems like an aggressive goal for December with the holidays and all... but as bobev said, it's a challenge, right? I've got a good start, anyway. Cool
