Roll Call November 2009 Exercise Challenge!!!

Quote  |  Reply

How much do you want to exercise a month?
How can you push yourself out that door when the last thing you want to do is go to the gym?
Easy - Challenge yourself!!!
Pick a goal and work towards it!!!

What is exercise you ask?

It is whatever you do over and above your normal everyday activity. If you start taking the stairs instead of the elevator due to your wanting to improve your health this is exercise - if you park further from the door and
walk extra - this is exercise. However if your work requires you to be on your feet running around all day - this is lifestyle and not exercise and should be added to your "activity level" in your account. I think its important for you to be honest with yourself so you will truly get the benefit of this challenge.

I must pick up the pace - over 50 mins/day needed to hit the target. That would be trivial if I could walk, but I still can only hobble about the house.

I just did 20mins of yoga(for the first time!) and I'm not even sure should this count as exercise, but considering I'm down with a pretty bad cold and I'm having a nice hamstring and calf stretch I'm still feeling, I am counting it.

212/1500 finished Fort Worth Marathon Half in 2:59:44, better than I had hoped and with a head cold no less.

This morning's post was the data from yesterday. Since the Cowboys will be on in a half-hour, my exercise is done for today. I added today's numbers:

150 min walking

10 min abs

20 min weights

Plan day off for tomorrow. Have school and it's hard to workout after a long day in the clinical field. May wear my pedometer.

Went to Punta Cana for 4 days but did manage to get in some exercise.

60 minutes of walking and elippitical

150/1250

600/2000

This week's goal is 90 minutes a day, Sunday to Friday. So far , so good!

pinktulip92 - Anything that is not part of your normal daily activities counts so definitely count your yoga! Good job on trying something new!
