Ron Arad-רון ארד

Quote  |  Reply
Anyone know what May 7 Is?  Rememberance for Israeli soldiers that perished in honor of Israel.  My question Is does anyone here in America actually know who Ron Arad Is?  I mean I know who he is since Im Israeli and my whole family is surrounded around the ideas of military, war, and Israel....Thats most of the Israeli culture.

So I was just curious if anyone in America knows who Ron Arad is.  For those who don't know Ron Arad was a soldier in the Israeli Air Force during the 1st Lebanon war who captured and kidnapped in a prison in Lebanon ever since and never retrieved.  And there are many more soldiers who were kiddnapped and never returned from Israeli ethnicity but Ron Arad was one of the first victims.  Just wanted to share the fact that there is such a thing as remberance day for soldiers in Israel.  and they deserve it 500%.

Also  :  Does anyone here know or is related to someone who went into the Gaza strip in Israeli independence day....Or anytime in Israel?

ok. thanks.
Ya.  Okay. Research the army.  They Help.  Not only Israeli but America too.
Most of my family is military. I don't really need to do any research. Thanks though.

That's what you said. I said thanks. I'm not sure what kind of response you're wanting.
I Said that on purpose.

It sounded as if you were mocking me, I was trying to make a point that no one really notices, At least in america.  By "No one" I mean the majority.
why are you living in America if you have such a problem with it? This isn't the first post I've seen you make with a similar agenda.
And there's a remembrance day in Chicago for Casimir Pulaski.  But no one really notices outside of Chicago.
do you know what day 25th April is?

I'm with alibuch, you need to get another tune to play. I'm still using CC classic, and even before opening the thread I knew it was going to be posted by you and not in a good way.

No. And yes to answer your questions. I don't know anyone who's gone to the Gaza strip for independence day but I have several Jewish friends who've gone to Israel.

I'm just not sure why you think everyone should need to know the entire history of Israel and the Israeli army.
thank you for sharing with us the story of Ron Arad, but your posts might be better recieved if you tried to educate us, instead of coming off as if you are accusing us of not knowing something we should know.

the world is a big place, and i try to learn what i can about different countries and cultures. i'm not going to feel bad because i don't know the history of the israeli army...

Doubly well said.

Didn't mean to sound bad.  Sorry if it did.  Maybe I was in a bad mood, Or thats just my blunt way of showing my emotions.
I'd have to say that's just your opinion... not that you were in a bad mood. This is one of several themes with a similar 'crap on America' tone.

It's really not that hard to leave. I did. haha

To be honest with you, I don't know who Ron Arad is and really do not care.  That being said, I read your profile and tried to put myself in your shoes to understand your point of view instead of just dismissing you as a hateful Israelite living in Irvine.  I can understand feeling angry about not wanting to live outside of your normal culture.  My experience may not be the same, but I had to move to another State and I was so missing my beloved California that it made me depressed and angry and I would lash out at times too.  And mock the new culture that I lived in and I'm sure that I was pissing people off who absolutely loved living in this other state.    So I got some feedback from people similarly to how the folks on CC are giving you feedback now and it put things into perspective.

In the end I was bolstered emotionally by my plans to get back to California and I stated to enjoy the cultural differences of this other state, like the regional cooking, the different geography and accents.  And now that I am back in California, I look back on the fond memories of my friends there.  I hope that helps you.

Your profile is just oozing distain.  It would be great to read about something positive like how much you love Israel and hope to get back there instead of bashing on America.

oh, I think the profile is ok, and have nothing against some of your other posts I've seen, thebledx3. Just my 2 cents. I miss living in Australia and have been known to have a few negative comments on the American lifestyle. I can relate to the problems with living in Irvine.

Personally I'm not overly interested in Ron Arad, but I can see why you would be, and also why you would be curious about others knowing. Stay true :)
