Routine

Hey Y'all... you have all been so great. I have another concern/question regarding your workout routine.

How often do you take a rest day? (i'm very active - exercise every day) Once every week? or once every two weeks?

What does your weekly routine consist of besides the usual response cardio & of course weight training every other day.. do you have a different routine that works better such as one day ditching the typical treadmill/elliptical cardio & weight training and taking up a kickboxing class or pilates instead?

Would this be more benefical, mix it up?

I currently have been doing 6 days a week exercise, cardio & weight training only 2 days..However this week I did only 5 days of this routine and one day a kickboxing class... would you suggest a day or two here and there for an alternate exercise routine such as kickboxing class, or pilates or a high geared cardio workoutclass (its called boot camp class) just wondering which is more effective, or if this is a waste of time and I am beter off sticking to 6 days a week the cardio/weight training!

Let me know you suggestions!!! Thanks in advance!

Looks like you're way over me but I always take Sunday off, whenever I take off anything more than that I find it harder to do the work out after the time off.
I always take Fridays off, but stick to a routine of

Day 1 - Calisthenics / core toning, strength / weight training for upper body, parapara / techpara dancing ( the cardio in my work out )

Day 2 - Calisthenics / core training, strength / weight training for lower body, parapara / techpara dancing

Day 3 - one full hour of parapara / techpara dancing

But if one of those days happens to land on a Friday, then I just do that days workout on Saturday and go from there.

I also walk almost every day to work, 2 and half miles total, 5 if it's a Thursday ( the walk to work, then work to the bank, and back again ), and I'm a cashier at a VERY busy, though small, grocery store. Our customers tend to either be old and weak, heavy and weak, or just plain LAZY, so we cashiers tend to do a LOT of heavy lifting and moving around, carrying things from the bottom of the customers shopping cart, around the register and up on the belt so our hand scanners can reach them ( our hand scanners have cords that don't have much of a reach on them ).

Alternating workouts every day is actually safer for you, and will give the muscles you worked out the day before time to recover and rest. The boot camp class or kickboxing sounds like fun, though, and if you can get a work out while having fun, so long as you don't over kill it, I say go for it! ^__^

I don't take days off but I do light days often.  Sometimes I don't feel like working out or time constraints get in the way so I'll take a day ofrf but its maybe once a month if that.  Yesterday I only did the ellip[tical for a little bit of time instead of walking.  Its getting too hot to walk if I don't get it done first thing in the am.
what about alternating the regular workout (cardio/weight training) with a pilates session or kickboxing class?

would this be beneficial or does it serve the same purpose as doing ur regular workout

i was unsure if this variety would help weightloss/dieting
