I have, for a really long time now, wanted to get into running. I'm awful, though. Seriously. I have NO endurance at all. 2 minutes is a serious challenge for me. Also, my body can't quite figure out how to jog. I'm either walking or I'm running. That middleground is nearly impossible to find. Anyway, I really, really want to work on my running and get better so I could possibly enjoy it someday. Help?
New York Road Runners do classes to learn how to run correctly. They have beginners ones. If you join, it is $100 for a 10 week course. Not bad I guess.
Good luck with it!
2 minutes is a perfect start for interval training, or "run-walking." Walk for 5 (at a brisk pace), run for 2, repeat until you've finished at least 30 minutes. Do this 3-4 times a week, and every week add a minute to your running time and drop a minute from your walking time. Before you know it, you'll be able to run for 30 minutes!
