Running list of improvement suggestions

Quote  |  Reply

Here is a list of improvement suggestions that have been brought up so far:

- It takes more clicks on CC+ to get to certain places than on CCC. This is primarily the case with the food/activity/weight loggers. If you know of any other pages that can be improved in terms of navigation, please let me know.

- The weight chart is not shown on the My Account page.

- The Forum and Thread listings take up too much vertical space. In the Classic layout, it was possible to fit more topics in the same amount of vertical space.

Hello,

Figured I'd throw in my $.02 here, since as of 10/1 I'm going to have to deal with CC+ whether I want to or not.

The main thing I miss between CC+ and CCC is the way the "Account Home" page is set up in Classic.  I liked seeing my food log and activity log in table form as they are on CCC.  I liked seeing the weight graph too (which I see someone has already mentioned.)

To be blunt, in my opinion, the My Account page on CC+ is useless.  First of all, the new way of showing calories burned and calories eaten with those two boxes containing "actual" and "estimate" numbers is downright confusing.  Which number is which?  Why does anyone even need to know how many calories they've burned as of this very moment?  That makes no sense.  I've been a calorie counter for almost two years and it confuses me; how must a new user feel?  Why do you think there are so many cries for help in the forums concerning how to figure out the numbers?

And again, being blunt, CC+ is just ugly.  The layout is awful and (as was already mentioned) it takes twice as many clicks to get places as it used to.  Granted, I know that C-C is an advertising-driven site, so forcing users to view more pages = putting more ads in front of them.  I get that, and I'm not complaining about the advertising; I know it's what keeps the site free.  But again, thinking of it from a new user's perspective, if they get frustrated and leave the site because of navigation issues, then they aren't seeing any ads at all.

Of course, the layout issue is a Web 2.0 thing and therefore not unique to C-C (I'm looking at you, Facebook....)

And finally, one suggestion for a new feature - journal tags.  I'd love to be able to tag my journal entries to make it easier to refer back to them at later dates.

Thank you for allowing me to vent.  Having said all that and despite my venom, I love C-C.  I would not be where I was today if it weren't for this site and the friends I have made here.  Thank you Erik, Igor, staff, and mods for making this such a great place to be.

I will address all of these issues tonight during our telecon:

Have been tooling around on plus now for a few days.

I have noticed two specific issues thus far:

1. When I reply in one of my friends' journals navigation back to my 'friend's journals' list is complex and too many steps.

2. Using the recipe analyzer, there seem to be some issues with the old procedure of plugging in the code to enter the item in the ingredients list. (Or I'm not yet up to speed on using it properly).

also...the link feature seems to be disabled in Plus? Or is that a temporary issue?

I think I can answer this one. :)  It's there, but you have to select some text before it will show up (it'll stay grayed out until you do that.)

I actually love the Eat Meter and Burn Meter.  It makes it easier seeing them side by side.

On classic, you would log your activities in the Activity Log but then you'd have to do the math yourself which left a lot of people adding their daily burn plus their activities and not take into account that they are not adding minutes to their day rather replacing minutes.  That seems to be the most confusion with the burn meter.

I'd suggest a "slim view" on the forums where it hides everyone avatars and slims up the posts...sort of the way it looked like on CC (*ahem*).  Scrolling every time you refresh (and get taken to the top of the current page) on the more active threads is a bear.

I know that this is not a feature from the previous CC or CC+ sites, but is there a way to get an area to track body measurements.  Many people are trying to track body measurements as well as calories and BMI.  It would be really nice to have it all in one area.  We all are working toward healthy bodies, and sometimes the scale doesn't move but our measurements do, because of increased muscle and decreased fat.  Laughing

After struggling with the tools provided in other sites, I found CC to be more intuitive and I made CC as my daily tracker now.Thank you.

I have couple of suggestions.

1) Please show the List of Tagged items in the Food Log page. Since most of the items I eat are tagged, it will be easy to add the food quickly without going back and forth to the tag page. [You can add a combo that lists all the tags that can be add quickly.]

2) In the Analysis page, please add the Weight information and BMI for the day. This will help in understanding the weight loss/gain pattern based on the consumed calories.

when I click on the 'and 19 more...' link in my friend's list, they don't come up.
