Has anyone ever ran in the cold and after coming inside found that there legs were red, itchy, and burning? This just happened to me, and I'm wondering if it's due to the cold. I know it's not an allergic reaction as I've been tested for allergies and the pants that I wore I've worn before many times while running with no issues. Thanks!
Try googling Golfer's vasculitis... uncertain spelling...
I had that for a while in heat, after treadmilling... ![]()
Yes! I've only ran outside once but yes! And it was a nightmare! First it was the inside of my ears that were burning, then my eyes - which started tearing. Next thing I know my whole body was itchy and covered in hives. I still have pics from it on my phone. Arms, legs, back, chest, puffy eyes and swollen ears - EVERYTHING. I took 2 Benadryl and lied down for about an hour and then it went away but I was flipping out. I haven't run outside since, partially because I'm too scared, so I never went to the doctor to get it checked out. But I definitely want to know why exactly i happened.
Wow! THAT musta' been miserable! ![]()
Only my legs were upset... and really bothered me.
this happens to me ALL the time when i run outside in the cold. uncomfortably, itchy, stinging legs. but it's only in the cold for me, and i've never had a problem with heat. i told my mom about it and she said that sometimes happened to her. i just notice that the tighter the clothes i wear on my legs the less often it occurs.
i also read that sometimes it happens if you're not used to exercising, but i work out very regularly, but not often outside when it is cold out (i prefer the gym in the winter), so maybe i only have this reaction in those conditions. taking a warm (not hot) shower after helps the itching stop.
I get that too. I assumed it was just dry chapped skin from running in the cold but I just don't know.
Yep! I get this really bad, both during the summer and winter. I don't get it all the time though, maybe once every week to two weeks (running 3x a week). I just put up with it.
So no help from me, sorry. :( Good luck!!
I don't run... but I do walk and when I wear shorts and it is cold out I get that too. It feels good when I am out there... I don't know why but I like the way it burns and tingles my legs ( maybe I am just weird) but when I come back into the warm house... the itching gets worse and it is no fun! But I love to wear shorts and a hoodie when I am out there in the cold... I think it makes me move faster ![]()
