Hi all

I am happily suprised to find out I wasnt the only one who thought I was one weight and discovered to my horror I was another. Nice to know others have done it too.

Well I had to have a sneaky weigh in today, as I have been having a bad week at home I was certain I would have gained back last weeks loss and as monday got closer I just had to have a look today and thankfully I haven't gained, I have lost another halfpound, so if I can get lots of walking in and avoid anything naughty this weekend I should be fine by monday. This has really cheered me up for the day and as its the weekend I dont have to have my morning fight to get my daughter to school for 2 days which is a great relief.

When I was about 24 I felt like I was gaining weight, my clothes felt tighter etc. but the scale said I was fine.  I decided to change the battery in my scale and lo and behold I had gained 25 lbs!! I immediately joined WW and the next week found out I was pregnant.  So I started my pregnancy with a 25 lb wt gain!  That really sucked.  I weighed in this a.m. and lost 2 lbs!  Woo hoo!  Its great to be able to check in and see everyone's progress  :)

I'll join.  My name is Kelly and I have been at this diet madness for years.  I have yo yo'd all my life.  I have never been what I would call thin.  Even in high school I was a size 10 which I would love to be now but to me that was just average.  At my highest (non-pregnant) I was 195.  At my lowest in my adult years I was 135 after my divorce when the pounds just fell off.  Boy if I could bottle that LOL although I know that was not a healthy way to lose weight but I lost 60 lbs in 3 months without even really trying.  But then I got pg and gained 80 with my first baby.  Then I only lost 40 and got pg again only 7 months later and when I had her I was 225 at delivery!  OUCH!  After having her I was back to 190.  I have since dieted off and on and the most I have lost was I got down to the mid 160's.  After my last diet I was in the 170's and now I am back to the 180's.  When I started last week I was 187 and I am currently at 186.5.

I am currently working out almost every day (trying to ease back into an every day routine so as not to injure myself, I have bad knees) and I am counting my cals.  I don't believe in "dieting" but rather changing my lifestyle.  I pretty much eat whatever but I stick to the amount of calories that the website says and small portions.  I try to eat a protein with every meal and limit the carbs etc.  I limit the sweets but not all together because I know that by doing that it leads to binging.  My biggest frustration is plateauing and that is what gets me and also when life gets hectic.  I find that when I get really busy with my kids and work I start missing workouts or don't have time to write down my food etc.  I like this site though so I am hoping that this helps.  Last time I just had a food journal.  So that is me.  :) 

 

I think I'll report on Fridays. :) I was 185 today (down 2 pounds from where I started about a week and a half ago).  Moving in the right direction (yea!) but I wish it were moving faster. 

Oh well, you all help me keep going. It's good to read how we are all trying, sometimes you get to feeling like you're the only one who has trouble losing weight!

I know the feeling. It seems like all the girls at my gym are already skinny!!! Kinda depressing. But if I don't work out I won't lose.

Hey Carmel- Just think, maybe one day in the past, those skinny girls looked just like you and me?

I used to just HATE thin people...Now I use them for inspiration more than anything.

I keep thinking to myself "see how hard she's working? YOU can do that too!"

It really does help. I burned 600 cal at the gym tonight. :)

I had a snaeky weigh in today and have lost a pound, although hoping by monday to have lost another (or 2)!!!

Ugh, I can't believe that I got myself into the 180's...stupid stress and stuff!!!

I have gained about 30-35 lbs since 2005 that is so not good!!! It all started when my father died...I just didn't watch...Diabetes runs in my family and my mom is so worried that I am going to have all sorts of health problems now...

My primary doctor sent me to an Endocrinologist (Thyroid and Diabetes) and she gave me a Diabetes pill that she said would help me lose weight (I should really take it more) I saw her last March....I was supposed to go back that August but canceled my appointment because I gained weight not lost....I have terrible will power and all my life my mother always put me down...when I see her (she has moved out) she keeps saying that I got too fat and this and that...that really doesn't help me out one bit....

Add me as a buddy...hopefully we can get through this together...o ya, I'm only 4' 11"

If you'll take me I'll join.  I'm at 187.5 (lowest in my life actually) and can't seem to get below that.  Been there since early Dec.  I gained a few pounds through the holidays but that came back off fast but halted when I got back to where I am now again. 

It'll eventually start moving again at some point, but hanging in there until it does is the hard part.  :)  Wish me luck.

Erica sorry that it sounds like you dont have the support of your mom, is she overweight?  I hope that with the help of people of here you find the suuport you need

crystal - well done on being at a low weight for you, sometimes your body just needs a kickstart? do you feel like you are in a rut? what is your intake, do you do exercise? do you eat the same stuff all the time?  we'll get you off this plateau!

i'm in a bit of a mood tonight - not sure why, i'm just grumpy, i'm having a glass of wine (not even sure what the calories are but i think i need to chill, besides ive been good all week and i ahvent had a drink for 2 weeks...)

Just back from working out. I feel so much better after I do it, even if the scales don't immediately show anything. :) I am going to have one of the Lean Cuisine Panini sandwiches...they are yummy and only about 340 cals (average)!  Anyone else tried them?

It's so nice to share our struggles. Keep up the motivation!
Thanks nasuoni! You have a really good point. I just assume they've always magicaly looked like that. I'll try your method next time I'm in the gym.
Oh man, I started at 181 and have lost 4 lbs as of today. I'm so excited :D! It's probably just water weight though haha, but oh well! Good luck to everyone else this week!

I've lost 2 1/2 lbs my first week!

Current weight is 182.5 

I'm going to try really hard not to get on the scale until my weigh in on Fri.  That is sooooooooo hard for me to not weigh several times a day.  I ate like crap this weekend but tried to keep myself honest by logging it.  I know I ate a ton of salt so weighing will make me feel worse, even though in my brain I know it is alot of water weight.  Great job on losing/ meeting challenges this week everyone!  My main goal this week is to drink all my water and flush all that sodium out!!
well done on the weight losses everyone! I only lost a pound but I am still V.HAPPY with that as I hadnt expected to lose at all as I neevr seem to in my 2nd week, thats 5lbs down so far and for you brits out there next week I expect to see some 12st's on my scale (I'm exactly 13st 2day!)

I am also gonna try and drink loads of water, I need to get some juice/squash and take that to work so I can glug pints down in one go.  I also need to get myself a nice plastic pint glass as we only have stained tea cups/mugs at work (not the nicest things to drink juice out of!)

Hi everyone, Zulupomm I'm with you LOL 13 st here too lost another 3.5 pounds this week. I know it wont continue going so well but hey I can enjoy it while it lasts.

Need to drink more water too just not been able to get the full 2 litres done just yet but will try harder.

So still no poundage loss, but I made an awesome discovery this morning! My butt is firm! Used to be that when I clenched, it rose 2 inches higher & totally changed shape - but not anymore!!! It's not saggy!!! Yay!!! It hasn't been this firm since I was maybe 13!!!

I had been feeling bad because I have to be careful with my knee, but it seems like the bike and elliptical are working.
