180's club
I've been eating as much as 1700 for a few days and am losing considerably faster. Maybe my metabolism has gotten that fast. I guess I'll start eating at 1500 - 1700 for a few weeks and see what happens.
I have a random question if anyone can answer. I'm eating about 1300 - 1600 (always aiming for 1500 but most times never reaching it) calories a day, and I'm working out 3 - 4 times a week. It would be 45 minutes on an ellipitical machine, 15 on a treadmill, and then light weightlifting that takes about 20 minutes. Should I upping my calories or am I aiming for a good place for once?
Leopardrayne- Yes I know it's water weight, but oddly, I didn't see this much of a different last time I was on track. My face lost an inch or so it looks like it and one of my hips. But I still seem to be dropping. I woke up today and weighted 184.5lbs. I figure I have about another week or so before I lose a 1 or 2 a week. Besides, if I lose weight too fast, I won't have any pants to wear to work. That would be a pain.
Lilsmiter- Good luck with the smoking. I hear it's a hard thing. I kinda have no clue since I'm allergic to the things.
I'm 24, 5'1, currently 181 and looking to get down to 135-140. I was that weight (and a size 10) in 2001-2003 and I loved it. My mini goal is to get to 170 by June 15th. I'm trying to keep my calorie intake around 1300, but will definitely allow myself more if I've exercised and have it to spare :) And Im extra lucky to be in a house with two other ladies who're cracking down with me :D
It's so hot today, and I'm surprised I am this happy. I am proof that heat increases aggression, because I tend to be snappier.
I found out that to get out of my speeding ticket, I could have a lawyer, whose fee is $150, and then $170 worth of court costs... I don't think it's going to be too terrible, at $320. Louie said that it's on average $400, so $320 seems like a good deal. Too bad that my paycheck was $186 this time...
Alas, I graduated in '06 :) One of the roomies is my girlfriend, the other is my best friend since forever. We wanted a bigger place, she wanted to move out, and the only way we could afford our awesome townhome was if we moved in together. It's worked out really smooth and fine, none of that stereotypical girl-bickering ;) We're all laid-back, non-drama Californians >D
We're ALL over-weight and have struggled with it for our lives. My roomie is quite a bit heavier, and she's doing south beach. It REALLY worked for her last year and she dropped a lot of weight. When I tried it, not only did I HATE it but I lost no weight. I know for me, watching what I eat and exercise is the only way too go. I gain weight because I'm lazy -- no excuses *nods*
I type too much, agh! And good luck with that ticket!!! Speeding tickets SUCK @_@
Welcome to the lovely new people!
I'm feeling much better now, thanks Leo and Lilsmiter :)
I am 174.4 this morning,, with 33.5% and 47.5% h20 (h20 is up hurray!!!)
I also passed probation at work, which means I'm pretty much guaranteed this job until eternity if I want it. Should be getting a 5% raise soon too, which means I'll have an extra 70 bucks or so to start saving. Thank god.
Thank god it's Friday too~! I'm going hiking tomorrow if the weather permits :D
I'm 175.2 today, which is surprising. I expected higher.
I got drunk (not quite wasted, but I was a tad out of it) on Friday night, and then I spent half of Saturday eating badly. And Sunday I hardly ate anything at all, so I tried to eat a bunch to get enough calories for the day, all at about 9 o'clock. Then I went to bed before 11, so I guess that was pretty dumb. :-P
*drinks a bottle of water*
I was down to 172.4 on Saturday. It utterly amazed me.
I'm back up to 174.6 today, but that's no biggie. Today's another new day, and another day to lose that weight. I'm determined to get to 170 by April 30th. (PAYDAY!!)
If I do, I get a new purse. Which I sadly need :(
Can I join too? I am now at 180 or 178 depending on water weight. i would like to lose weight but no matter what I do I am only losing about 1lb a week? Any suggetions?
Wow things are going great with Jeff... It's creepy. We've only KNOWN each other for a week. Gods. I feel like I have been dating him for months and months. We already finish eachother's sentences. It's pretty amazing, and scary.
In the mean time my weight loss stalled out. But then again I have been stuck since about Mid Febuary. I think I am going to chill out and be a 180's club lifer. I'm going to change my goal to 185 and maintaining, then just keep eating right and working out. Everyone I know says I look like I am right where I need to be. Of course Jeff helps too.
Anyway the Vegitatian diet is working well but I am experamenting with eating a bit of fish every now and again to keep me from having crazy meat binges... I think I must be missing something in my diet. But I'll keep playing with it.
Kung fu is going well, it's nice and easy because this is like a month off. The black belt class is teaching a 3rd degree form. So I can take some time off and relax a bit. Next month is Spear, then double broad sword, then tiger hook swords... I'll be really buisy soon.
Getting a bit of a cold... so I am going to run on the treadmill for 15 minutes and take it easy tonight.
Hi Lilly! One pound a week sounds like a good goal, but if you want to lose more, I would advise adding more cardio to your work if you're at a good place with your calorie count.
Congrats on the continued lose Leo!
Lilsmitter - Vegitatian diet? Wow. I always wondered where you get your protien when you decide not to eat meat anymore. I know the majority of mine comes from the fish I usually get for dinner. And if I skip out on it, I end up getting only 20 grams.
Personally, I'm at 184.5 this morning again. Sunday, I was at 183.5 until I got this odd indigestion in the middle of the night and work up at 190 on Monday. My stomach still feels like it's revolting and having problems keeping down what I'm trying to eat. Sprite is the only thing that seems to make it settle down, but it's way too high in sugar to drink all the time. Ugh... >.<
Lilsmiter - Oooo settling down, boycrazy girl? I think you look good the way you are. If you lose some, then yippy! If you stay the same, you look great as well.
Selene - What kind of fish do you usually eat? And... have you tried eating natural rice? Rice and oatmeal usually stay down for me when I'm sick.
Today I'm at 175.2... so no movement for a week or two, but I'm okay with that. As long as I never see 178 or higher again, I'll be happy.
I can't stand oatmeal. Something about the texture makes me start gagging. Even it I add little water to it. I might try some rice or broth with rice tonight. I've been drink shakes and eating mushy things to make sure everything stays down. At least it was much better than yesterday. I did go buy medicine last night, but hopefully I won't need to use.
When you're sick, eat whatever your body wants. More than likely, you need something in that food.
If nothing stays down, try saltines and Sprite/7-up. Really light in flavor, and easy on the tummy (plus the carbonation feels good to your tummy for some reason)
I am 174.2 this morning, looking forward to 170 by the end of the month -prays-
I don't get it.
Original Post by leopardrayne:
I wake up every morning and I set out a nice set of goals, and then by the end of the day when I said I would work out, I realize I have no motivation.
I don't get it.
I feel that way too. But after two/three days of not going, I feel guilty. If I want to lose weight and want to change my life, I know I havve to do it. Even if it's the last place I want to be.
Oh, and for fish, I buy different kinds, pretty much anything I can find at the store that looks good. So far, it's been cod, tilapia, tuna, and salmon.
nasu - Today and yesterday I've been drinking Sprite because it helps alot. It's just so high in sugar. I already always get too much sugar. >.< But my body isn't craving anything. I'm not spending my day hungry or wanting anything, but I continue eating what I should because I know I should. I'm thinking of going to get some digestive aid enzymes, but my body has a habit of acting slow when it does.
175.2 today, for the THIRD DAY in a row... At least I figure i must be losing something, because my period is about to start and I'm all bloated up. And not hungry for breakfast... oopsie.
LEO ya I kind of am settling down a bit. :) but he is making me Very happy. It's just fantastic! Oh that Motivation thing is a Big problem for me too. By the end of the day I am TIRED worn out and am just ready to relax! I don't know a miracle cure but what helps me is:
"Come on! Think about how good you will feel after, all relaxed and ready to really get some good sleep, and think about how good you will feel for getting this done!" Say that about a hundred times and it might just work!!! 175... that is a good place to stall for a bit. :)
Selene Oh well I am not Vegan! But even if I were I could get all my protiens from Quinie which is an Aztec grain that has all the essential amino acides, Supplement that with Soy, and of course Vegan breads, and vegtables all contain protien. But Being only Vegitarian I CAN eat Eggs, milk and Honney. Not that I do very much anyway, but it is MUCH easier to buy say... Bread when you can eat eggs and the like.
But YES I have to be Very carfull to get all the protiens, in the amounts that I need. I don't think it is the diet for everyone... and by diet I mean life stlye. But for me it was SO simple it. It feels Very natural, one day I just Quit eating meat. Now Jeff is allergic to most raw vegies and Fruit! haha. So he has to eat his meat. But that is his lifestyle. I am fine with it so long as it promotes his health. Lucky for me both of my Kung Fu teachers have been Vegan for over 30 years... So I get lots of info and help from them. But you know when I stoped eating meat my skin cleared up practicaly over night... I went from zit mania to a near perfact complection. But all of my skin stopped producing so much oil so I have to use lotion now. Oh well!
Black belt class is tonight, But I am just going to do Tai Chi... this cold is still weighing me down... I havn't had a smoke since yesterday at 11AM WOO HOO!
How tall are you love? I am 5'11" if I ate 1300 I would turn pale fall over and die! haha. This looks like a good range for someone in or around 5'4" Maybe 5'6". Bigger organs need more food. Bigger bodies need bigger muscles, which need more food.
But, considering your workout is vigorous... I would recomend a Muscle milk, or protien drink after your work out. Perhaps a cup of Juice right before.
Also... Little known fact but cardio (particularly running) can Shake iron out of your red blood cells. No kidding. I used to be aniemic because of that! haha... So try to use the bike a bit in place of running and take your Multi-Vitamen.
