176.4 this morning, and I think I figured out why I was such a piggie last week. I couldn't get enough crappy food into my mouth it was horrible. I ate myself sick one day. ugh. Period starts today/tomorrow though, and that explains a ton.

I won't make 170 by the 30th, like I wanted to, but at least now I know for sure where the cravings were coming from, and I won't be blindsided next time.

morrow~ Yes, it SUCKS to see a lower number than you've seen in a long time, only to bump back up to a number you don't want to see ever again. OH, I hope your ankle feels better!!!

leo~ Still lower than 175! You can get back down I know it :) And you rock for getting to the gym so much. I'm so lazy :\

selene~ Hurray for you with those inches!!

Thanks for everyone's concern. Actually, last week I went to the gym only twice.  Wednesday and Saturday.  Saturday I only did 15 minutes on the elliptical machine because I was feeling way too tired (it was really late). I'm not trying to go crazy with weight lose, but I think my body's either adjusting or is just losing alot of water.

Leo - My numbers aren't too different from yours, I just get more protein:

Calories - 1300 - 1500 (I'd have to up it if I went walking with my friend to support her wedding weight loss plan. But last couple days it's been at 1450)
Fat - 30 - 45 grams
Protein - 70 - 100 grams
Carbohydrates - 175 - 200 grams
Sodium Intake - 2,300 - 3,000 mg (days I get less than 2000 I feel odd)
Fiber Intake - 20 - 35 gram

I did magically lose weight this morning. The scale now on 181 lbs. Now sure how that would happen, but I think it's all water. More or less, my goal was to reach 160 by August. And I'm pretty sure this constant dropping pounds will stop soon whenever my body adjusts.

The less sodium you get, the less water you retain.
Hey everyone. Slow month - currently at 186. Was going to try to reach 180 for my one-year anniversary of calorie-counting (May 24th) but looks like that won't happen. (Shame, it would have been exactly 60 lbs and 25% of my initial body weight - nice round numbers). Still, though, I'm not too upset by it - life is good otherwise. Hell, even if I keep losing like I have been - like 2 lbs a month, which feels pretty pathetic at times - I'll still be at a healthy BMI by next year, and totally used to maintenance. :)  And in the meantime, I still have piles of energy and feel attractive and healthy, and that's what counts.

Congrats to everyone who made it to the 170s already!!

freaking heck!

I've been a slacker.  Tonight I have Kung Fu... Got to be a good girl and go.  For me though it is so important that I don't loose sight of the things that make me feel good about myself.  Right now with this new and intence relationship with Jeff... It's too easy to see myself getting washed away into his life.

Anyway, I think part of the 194 is just water retention... I have been dehydrated AND craving salt.  Don't know what that is all about... Probobly just need to focus on drinking more water.

I had a major panic attack last saturday.  Jeff got to see that... Fun.

Sigh.

But Hey, Life is good, I am good... work is good.  Jeff is good.  :)  My cat has a cold.

Lilsmiter - Craving salt means you're deficient in some mineral.  It's not necessarily "sodium" that you're craving, but it's something.  Your body is good at telling you you're missing something, but doesn't tell you what.

Trustwomen - You might be able to do it.  Don't look down, just try harder.

I want to see a healthy BMI, but it doesn't seem possible.
leopardrayne, of course it's possible for you to get to a healthy BMI!! You've lost 26 lbs so far - that's great work. According to my calculations, at 5'3.5", you will be under BMI 25 once you're at 143 lbs. That means you're pretty much halfway there already!! It doesn't matter if it takes a while - the slower it comes off, the more likely it is to stay off for good.

Don't get discouraged! :)

leo~ A healthy bmi isn't everything hon. You WILL get  there, but for now, think about how many pounds you've lost, how many inches? That should help brighten your mood (you seem down :( )

trustwomen~ You rock for losing almost 60 pounds! I know you'll get there :)

I am 175.6 this morning, which means I'm down .8 from yesterday. I also know I'm holding water (47.5%h20) so hopefully that'll drop off too.

I'm not going to make my 170 goal for April 30, so no new purse for me -sighs- Oh well.

I'm not in a bad mood. I know BMI's are a **** indicator of a healthy weight.  I'm actually 5 ft 3 even, according to the tape measure.  I'm fine.  A little stressed. I have a test every weekday till next Thursday.  And I have to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

What the heck! I've gained 10 lbs in 2 weeks as a Vegaterian...LOL

So... I am going to watch my portion sizes... No soda... no more fu fu coffee...

It's probobly not just one thing, but WOW.
Lilsmiter - OMG!  Well I guess you need your meat.  I figured out that if I had a higher protein intake and a lower carbohydrate intake, I was doing better.  My dad gained weight as a vegetarian too, and now he's on the Atkins Diet.  It's either one extreme or the other, I guess.

I hope you lose that weight.
lilsmiter - wow. Sorry to hear that. Maybe if you weren't ingesting as much protein as before, you got hungrier? (That happens to me, I need protein or I am never really full). You can get protein as a vegetarian, of course, but it's trickier.

Just goes to show, it's calories and not types of food that makes the difference. You will definitely get the weight off again, you know how to do it.

BTW I've decided to shoot for my aforementioned goal after all - 180 by May 24th. I want my 1 year anniversary of counting calories to equal -25% of initial weight, and 60 lbs lost (love the round numbers). I'm probably gonna be 184 tomorrow morning (am 185.2 tonight), meaning I'd have about three and a half weeks to lose another four pounds. I hope I can do it!

Hi girls. I am joinning too! I am about 188 and 5'7 and for begining I want to be under 170 - kind of border in my had I have since a long time.  So let's do it...I've been on diet since April 12.

Welcome, martusia20! :)

A word of advice - I read your other thread - don't "diet". Change your lifestyle in ways that are pleasurable and sustainable, and you'll have a better chance of success. A 500-750 calorie deficit every day will have you losing steadily. Working out tons and giving up all the foods you love will just make you frustrated if you don't get instant results, and could lead you to chuck it all! (That's how weight cycling usually works - people are "on" or "off" a strict regime, and it's like night and day).
hey, so this morning was better than I thought - 183.4. May 24th, here I come!! :)
Welcome in, Martusia.

I'm pissed off... I'm doing everything right and I gained a little.  174...
Remember, leopardrayne, that the scale lies. It is such a bad indicator of change in body fat. (Check the link.)

Hi Girls!!  It's been awhile since I've posted here... just thought I'd drop by and say hi.  It sounds like you are all doing pretty well!

Trustwomen - Wow, 60lbs is amazing!!!  I'm sure you'll be able to reach your May goal.

Super, super hungry lately...  I've been wanting to (but not giving in) eat everything in sight lately!!  I think my hormones are raging and it's nearing period time.  I've never had to fight the cravings this hard yet and it's extremely tough to not just give in to them.  Been drinking extra flavored water (grape because it's sweet & seems sugary) lately to help curb the cravings.  I think someone else mentioned having the same problem...

163.6lbs. - almost 20 lbs. lost and halfway to my goal weight.

Trustwomen - I'm aware of that, but my weight has recently been fairly consistent from day to day.  I'm not addicted to the scale, but seeing a reading every morning shows me progress.  Where weighing one day a week may show one of my "higher" days, weighing everyday shows me a progressive movement downward.

K9stylist - good luck with cravings.  I eat pears when I'm hungrier than usual, and craving sweets.
C'mon thread! Don't die!

Hello all, I'm 172.4 today, and if I never delve beneath 170.8 by the end of the week, then I'll have started a new plateau... I hope not!  Every day I like to see a miniscule amount of change...
