Congrats on the weight loss everyone!  Laughing  I am still in the 150's... I was told it's tough to get through them, and they weren't lying, it is!  Been a little bummed because I gained a pound while my sister was down here visiting (too much going out to eat & ice cream).  And sad because now I miss her...  and I don't want it to be almost another two years before I see her againFrown.  On the bright side, she said how good she thought I looked as soon as she saw me at the airport, which felt great.

I know I'm carrying around a lot of water weight though... I eat a ton of processed foods and a lot of sodium.  I drink a ****load of water and tea everyday too.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

Hey all,

You all sound like you're all doing so well with your weight loss. Have been stuck at 181 for well over a couple of weeks despite trying the new excercise rountine and generally eating well.

How long have your 'plateaus' lasted for? Will I ever see some results? Cry

i must admit i am down this morning...after spending father's day weekend with my sisters and dad this morning the scale read 189. i am so upset and i really hope that it is just water weight but either way i'm disappointed to see that number. so i am starting back at square 1 Frown

Brownsug - That WILL be water weight.  You won't gain so much weight in such a short time and have it "actually" be fat or weight.

Newlook08:  I've had a month long plateau before, and right now movement is slow (despite the random 3 pound drop last week).  You should do resistance training (lifting weights).  And eat at maintenance for a few days.

I'm back up as well, to 168.2, but I am assuming it's my "binge weight", because last night I had a good 6 slices of VERY GOOD pizza.  Today it's damage control, and I was so severe about it, I've only eaten 1000 Calories today.  Trying to find something that's between 200 and 400 Calories is the tough part.  Maybe a bowl of cereal and a teensy applesauce cup.

Gosh, I'm up too. I weighed in at 183 this morning. GRRRRRR  I know I ate horrible all week. And I did it again today. Plus I've not exercised all week. I'm just so bored with it all. I'm joining the gym to give me a change. So hopefully I'll get motivated again. I so want this weight gone, but I just keep eating ice cream and chips!  I start the day off good, then it just goes down hill from breakfast. I do it every day. This has got to stop NOW!!! :(

We can all get back on track! Come on and join me! I need company!!! :D

Momof2:  Look in the mirror and see what you've done so far.  You look pretty good, don't you?  Don't let a week off get you down.  Have a bowl of fruit when you want the sugar, and have a handful of nuts when you want the salt.  It works VERY well for me.  Pears are my favorite fruit, and since most juices and fruity candies are partially sweetened with pear juice, I don't much need a sweet.

I'm eating right again, making sure I have enough protein and cutting down on my massive fat and carb intake.

Here's my typical calorie breakdown:

1200 - 1500 Calories
30 - 45 grams fat
70 - 100 grams protein
150 - 200 grams carbohydrates.

And today it must be paying off.  I am down to 166.2, for this week's loss of 2.6 lb (Tuesday to Tuesday).

hi everyone!

i'm new to this site, but starting now it's my homepage, so whenever i open a browser, it will keep me accountable! i never struggled with my weight until after college...i was dating a very tall thin guy who ate all the time, and of course i always ate with him. after three years of that, i had gained 30 pounds! 10 per year...i don't know why i didn't realize it until i had to go shopping and my pants size went up! i guess i had been avoiding shopping those three years. easily done as it was when gauchos were popular, they're flattering but loose like sweatpants! curse them! >:0

so here's my situation, i'm living in Japan teaching english, and you would think that getting thin would be easier here, but it ISNT. i'll tell you why. there is just as much fast food and even MORE sweets than in the states. On top of that you have the stress of being in a foreign country, so you want to eat for comfort. and the final icing on the cake (haha) is that you are naturally the biggest person in the neighborhood (because of height and genetics) but you are also a bit overweight... it's impossible to shop, people around you are INCREDIBLY thin...everyone...there are no people your size...which makes you more self conscious = eating more chocolate. *Sigh*

SO! i joined the gym in my area and am starting to go four times a week, doing weight training and cardio, and swimming in the morning twice a week. it's easier to diet when i'm exercising because my mindset is like "dude, you just worked your ASS off, just so you can turn around and hork chocolate?! just leave it alone....just leave it..."

i'm 180 now and my goal is 150 (for now) and i'd like to get there by Fall. can i join the group of 180 ladies? we can keep each other on track!

by the way "pikubiku" means chubby cheeks in japanese :D

Hi Pikubiku!  Welcome!  I've always wondered when you become an English teacher in Japan, do you need to know a little Japanese, or is everyone accommodating to you?

Oh gosh, it's been a week and my face hurts!  Still!  I went back and there's no infection, but my mouth barely opens and my nerves still haven't healed all the way.  Yet it still hurts, and so does my ear and part of my throat.  I'm tempted to go to the regular doctor to check out if there's an infection elsewhere.  But still, chewing's hard so in baby food and mash potatoes, I'm only getting 800 a day.  Ugh.  I don't want to eat baby food anymore but what can you do...

>.>

I did get down to 174lbs.  Depending on how long this takes, I might go down another 3 pounds.  But I miss eating.

I'd love to join!

My name is Sarah and I weigh 183lbs.

My goal is to eventually weigh 130lbs. I am 5'7" and I am 18 years old.

So I need to lose 53lbs to meet my goal. I also have a smaller goal of losing at least 20lbs by the fall (September) so that I feel better at the start of college!

I work as a waitress and my hours are odd and are almost never the same so working out is hard and eating is never at regular schedules. It'll be nice to have someone I have to report to so that I feel like I can't let you down!

Welcome to the new ones!

Brownsug - That's fantastic!  Now shape up so you can shape up! :-P

Pikubiku - Aww that's a cute name!  I gained 30 pounds in a year, baby, so I know what you're saying.  My 30 pounds down is GREAT.  Just focus and spend about 30 minutes on the treadmill, and then spend some time with the weights, or you won't see a significant change.  Enjoy Japan!

Selene - Awww Yeah when I have a sore throat, I can feel it in my ears and sinuses, usually.  It's like the whole side of my face is hurting.  So it was teeth?  I forget.  I hope you can eat again soon!

Sarah - I'm not a waitress, but I do serve drinks and run the register (not to mention stocking plates, trays, etc etc VERY OFTEN!).  I tend to burn 1200 Calories per shift, and on days I work, I have to eat a huge meal before hand so I don't fall out.  It's doable.  Just don't eat at work.

166.2 today!  My lowest number ever!  I hope to see more movement tomorrow.  I had a high-fiber, low calorie day, and I've been in GREAT spirits, although I've had mostly carbohydrates (39 proteins and 30 fats!).

Welcome to all the new people!!  =)  This site is the greatest & the 180's group is also great.

I weighed myself this morning and I have now lost just over 30 lbs since February 17th!!!  I'm very pleased.  I now am down to 151 lbs.  =)

Leo ~ Congrats on your new low number!!!  =)  Pat yourself on the back.

K9stylist - we're losing at around the same rate!  Since January 8, 2008, I've lost 35 pounds.  And since February 17th, you've lost 30.  That's amazing for the both of us!

This month's numbers are moving fast.  Since the beginning of the month, I've lost 5.2 pounds.  Is it possible? I'd like to think so.  If I have lost 6.0 by the 21st, that will be a healthy weight loss.  I'm not too sure how to do any math surrounding it yet.

Welcome to the new people!  this group is great!

Sounds like you all are doing great! I hope this week will be a good week for me too. I joined the gym today and I'm really motivated now. I just walked on the treadmill today at various speeds and inclines for an hour. Tomorrow I'll do the weights and just ride the bike for 1/2 hr. They have a punching bag and I think I'm gonna give that a go too. I hear it's a good workout.

Went out to eat dinner with the kids today. Did good, just had a grilled chicken salad w/ fat free italian dressing on the side. Ate 1300 calories today, so I'm giving myself a pat on the back! hehehe

Pikubiku - I gained 60 pounds in 1 1/2 yrs from laying in bed and being in a wheelchair. GRRRRR  You can lose it!!!  I've lost almost 60 pounds and I've got like 25 to go. You have my support.....good luck!  I'm curious too about the teaching English in Japan. You speak Japanese?

Leo ~ Yeah, you're right, we are losing at about the same rate.  Yay, us!!  *high five*

Laughing

So I'm now down to 173... I wonder if I eat normal again will I bloat up or just level out.  Not too sure.

My sodium is low on CC, but it has to be high since I'm garling with salt water after every meal, and before and after bed.  My tongue seems a bit irritated from all the salt.  And somehow it still always feels like there's something trapped in the holes...

But I'm quite happy.  I started in April, and now I have lost 17lbs by tracking with CC.  April being 9, May being 5, and now late June being 3.  Of course I'd like to lose a bit faster, but this month and most of May have not been good days as far as getting to the gym.  My god, my health keeps screwing me over.  But I'm happy to be almost 170 again.  I believe 165 --170 is where I was when I first moved to California is 2006.  Hopefully, by the end of the year I'll be back to 140 like I was when I graduated high school.

Selene ~ Congrats on the 17 pounds lost!!!  Feels good, doesn't it?

I went to the mall this afternoon and treated myself to a little shopping... went to Victoria's Secret.  For the first time, I wasn't actually embarrassed to go in there... I always felt like I was too fat to be in there before & like I'd gross people out, lol.  I had one of the girls measure me for some new bras since I lost a lot of weight in my chest (go figure).  I had no idea what size I was, so she was very helpful & told me exactly what size to get according to my new measurements.  I used to be a D cup, but now I'm down to a full C, but that's perfectly okay with me.  They got in the way too much before and were too weighted down... now I look more proportionate.  =)  Oh, and I love Victoria's Secret lotion too, it smells so good!  I had to get a couple of those too.  I was in a crappy mood this morning, so it cheered me up a little.

K9 stylist - Awwwww I still feel too fat for Victorias Secret.  I'm waiting until I'm either 150 or until I see my boyfriend again (he's in Italy until August 26).

My salt intake said I was low too, Selene.  It's not from salt water, though.  It's more like whatever they put in Golden Corral chicken and whatever I was able to peel off (the skin with all the sodium on it).  Take care of yourself, Selene.

Today's weight was high because I had high salt yesterday, didn't have enough water, and the "crimson river" began to flow.  Fun stuff...

Hi everyone! Hope all is well.. welcome pikubiku and  killmeromantically!

k9stylist and leopardrayne, love your new pics!! so cute, both of you!

Well, I've fallen off the wagon a bit again. My garage sale went alright, made about $150, which wasnt too bad considering most things were under $2- alot under $1 too. I had quite a bit left over, but was able to donate it to hennipen county for low-income cases- my hubby has a friend who knows someone who works there.

We went on a little vacation up north to Duluth, left on tuesday and came home today. We had a great time, but we ate out most of the time, and I havent logged my eating (which was way out of the ballpark) or exercised in over a week! blah! I left on vacation at about 166.5 - 168 and weighed in today at 171- 172. oooo, time to get back on track with things! dang it anyway!

Congrats all of you on your current successes! That is wonderful! I hope I can say something more encouraging about myself soon.

oh, i put up a couple pics from our trip.. and I wanted to share with you guys about link I got in an email from a friend- I dont know if you are allowed to post links or not, but  go to http://www.godtube.com/view_video.php?viewkey =8cf08faca5dd9ea45513 or if this doesnt work go to www.godtube.com and search for ' hoyt'.. I am not a very religious person, but this story really moved me. It is about a man who runs marathons and triathalons with his son.. o, it just made me cry. check it out.

Have a great weekend everyone!
