180's club
166 today. A little high, but what do you expect if you eat TWO pieces of cake yesterday...?
hi everyone! Been going to the gym and I've lost a few pounds in a weeks time. I'm at my lowest now instead of bouncing back and forth! I weighed in at 179! Out of the 180's!!! Finally! WHEW! I've been eating really well too. I've been so motivated since going to the gym. I sure hope it keeps up after the newness wears off.

momof2funykds- yay! good for you! There is a YMCA being built a few blocks from my house and I cant wait till its done.. I want to get to the gym too! Did you get a trainer, or are you taking any classes, or just working out on your own? Whatever you are doing keep it up, sounds like its working!

I'm almost exactly 180lbs now so hopefully I won't be hanging around this thread for very long... who else is about to move down to the 170s club?
Welcome petchy! You can stay here while you lose too.. I started at about 185ish and got down to about 166, but bounced back to around 173 :( for now.. This is a great place for support and I think its really nice to have a group that is starting from around the same point and seeing eachother through all our successes and setbacks.. I think most of us here are under 180 now..
So where you from, age, height, etc... I am 34, about 5'4" , about 173? (waiting to get a new scale!) and I live in Minnesota. I am married and have 4 children.
First scheduled day with my personal trainer will be next Wednesday at 2 p.m... WOO I'm so excited. But won't be back to the gym until this coming Monday, because of work schedule. They're working me, I tell ya! I might work out in the mornings (around 10 or 11 a.m.) on workdays now, depending on how I feel and my motivation level.
I've had a great first day of classes so far. My classes seem like they'll be easy and quick. Four poems a day (about 3-pages worth of reading total) in one of my classes, and the other one I already know is going to be easy.
I estimated my portions for lunch and I think everything in the wrap was about a cup and a half of stuff. 1/2 cup lettuce, 3/4 cup chicken, 2 tbsp caesar, and about an ounce of parmesan. Tasty, not TERRIBLE. About 500 Calories for lunch. I also had a cup of fruit salad. One of my friends was right - the canteloupe and honedew are in season. Fantastic, homemade fruit salad.
Petchy - Welcome in and thanks for following my advice. We're usually around most of the week, and we post our weight whenever we feel like it. Some of us get lazy most weekends though from the site, but the weekend is the weekend!
Ooo Wendy I didn't know we were about the same size. I'm 5'3" and 165 lb, about a size 12/14 depending on the day.
Leopardrayne, I guess we are pretty close! I'm not sure exactly what size I am right now.. most of my clothes are size 16, some 18, XXL and XL size shirts.. and all are starting to look quite baggy.. have to keep hitchin up me britches ;) I did go to Maurices' a couple of weeks ago when I got down close to 166 (I dont really know why there, I guess cuz its close- I havent shopped there in years!) and tried on some jeans and shorts- I bought size 11/12, which I could get on and zip and button, but were a bit more snug than I'm used to ... give me something to work at for a bit :) I did feel a little funny going in there, maybe because its more a store geared toward younger gals.. I had a hard time finding a pair of jeans with out that ripped, faded look- I just feel like I'm a little to old to dress like that. *sigh* They have a whole half of the store for plus sizes now, and it felt good that I didnt have to go look over there :)
oo, i am happy for you that you get to start with a trainer.. I am really thinking that is what I want when our Y opens up this fall. Let us know how it goes..

Havent been on for a while.
You're all doing so well! I am still floating around the low 180's - despite eating well (I thought) and working out 3-5 times a week. Am doing a new routine at the gym - so hoping this will shock my body into some weight loss!
For those who are exercising too - how many calories do you stick to each day?

My weight is at a new low, and it actually caught me by surprise. I don't work out very often SPECIFICALLY because I work 4 or more days a week, on my feet. I also eat terribly at work because I have free reign over Chocolate Chess Pie (chocolate-creme pie pretty much) and all those goodies from a buffet.
leopardrayne - congrats on the 3 lb loss! Maybe your body is catching up!
On non-workout days, I usually eat 1300-1400 and workout days some place around 1700. I think you have to keep your body guessing, so I vary my calories everyday.

I went up to around 174 a couple weeks ago but after upping my exercise I decided to weigh myself again. I am 171 now. I almost expected disappointment to be out of the 160's but to tell the truth I feel pretty happy to see I've lost a little.

I'm new to CC.
I'm 31, 5'8". CW: 184.
Short term goal: 165
Long term goal: in the 50's.
I was down to 161 this time last year and have 'let myself go' again. I changed jobs, moved countries and really need to get back into a groove. So unhappy I let myself get back to this weight. I'm in that place where all my clothes that used to look good.... are now too snug to wear. GGRR!
Anyways - looking forward.... I'm trying. I've started on a healthy eating plan (5 small balanced meals a day) and have booked a personal trainer to get me back into the gym.
I know I can lose 10lbs fast - eat right and work out for a week and I can take it off no problem. Its staying on the 'healthy eating plan' and staying at the gym that will help me keep losing the weight.
Looking for friends and people to help me stay motivated.

Been playing a lot of wii fit lately... my sister-in-law and her friend flew back home on Saturday morning, so after all that I had to get back on track again. While they were here we went out for mexican one night, and to an all you can eat pizza buffet the night before they left. It was good, but sooo bad for me! I weighed myself this morning, and even after all that I still lost a pound this week, so not too bad. 148.4 lbs today!! =)

I'm battling with water retention right now (ttom). I gain so much water! I've gotten rid of 4 lbs of it in a couple days (thanx to Midol) and I have 2 lbs hanging on still. GRRRRR Why do us women have to go thru all these issues with our weight???? I'll never figure it out! lol

I ate cake for my dd's b-day last month! I think I ate 4 pieces of it! And not small pieces. But don't have to cross that bridge again til August 15th.
Speaking of August 15th......that was my goal date to reach 160 lbs. Don't think I'll get there! I'm 177 right now. So 17 lbs to lose in a little over a month....don't think so. If I just wouldn't have had that stupid plateau over the winter! GRRRR
How close is everyone to their goal and the date they set? Just wondering.
