momof2, glad your appt went ok, but oh, that steroid injection sounds awful! hopefully it wont come to that! Thanks for your sympathy! After just doing the housework today, I was nearly back at a limp again, dang it anyway! I think if it still hurts tomorrow I will at least do some ab work and maybe some lifting with my arms.. I hate to just not do anything--really dont want that scale to keep moving back up now!

hello! Im about 180!  can i join you for support!!  hehe, i dont have any friends on here, and I would love to have some people to help motivate each other.  That would be awesome!

Hi Roby_yap - welcome to the group!

Have given myself a day off the gym today. My thighs were really aching this morning - so am having a rest day after 8 days doing gym/walk/ swim. Thats a record for me!

Hope you're all having good days.

Momof2~ Glad to hear your doctor's appointment went okay... hope you don't have to get the injection!  Owww!  Get lots of rest and take it easy on yourself.  :)

Wendy~ Still thinking about the shoes.  I hope you're feeling better today!  :)

Roby_yap~  Welcome to the group!  What are your stats (height, age, goal weight)?  I'm 27, 5'7", sw:182, goal: 135, currently 139ish.  :D

Newlook~ You sound like you definitely deserve a day off!  Eight days of doing all of that is alot, great work!

It is STILL raining here... arrived at work this morning to see that the kennels were all full of mud and the water line was 1-2 feet up the wall!  The pool was flooded too and the courtyards.  The water went down before we got there, but the buildings were all flooded again by about 9am... only one that didn't flood is the main office building, which is on much higher ground (lot is sloped & lower in back with a swamp behind it).  Had to bathe all the poor doggies and move them all into the main building into the grooming room and playroom area.  What a mess!  Not sure if I can even groom tomorrow because our septic alarm thing is going off, so we can't use the toilets, etc.  Not sure if I'll be able bathe the dogs or anything.... hopefully it'll stop raining and the water will go down again.  Luckily we don't have too many dogs there!

k9 - heard on the news that some areas have gotten 3 feet of rainfall. That's a whole lot of rain! :(  Hope the dogs were all ok. They weren't in water, were they? I wouldn't think so. Just asking. I imagine how all the sewers and water drains are all full and oh.......what a mess!

I'm still resting today. Back and leg still aren't feeling good enough to do much walking. It has crossed my mind to go for a small walk. hehehe  But I know better. I'll rest til it feels completely better!

momof2~ Yeah, it hasn't stopped raining all day... we're in a flood watch.  Luckily all the dogs were okay... it looked like there was a foot or two of water in there overnight... they were muddy, but okay.  Must have been scary for them, poor things.  Good to hear you're still resting... No getting up or sneaking out for a walk!  I'm sitting on the couch debating about whether I want to eat or if I want to run or do some wii fit.... hmmm.

I'm feeling alittle more better tonight!  Maybe tomorrow I can go for my walk! I sure hope so!

k9 - what did you do? eat or exercise???

I did good today!  I ate 1230 cals, a little low for me, but good. I normally eat 1300-1350.  I didn't eat any junk whatsoever!  I'm so proud of myself!  Smile

I hope the scale shows my good behavior in the next couple days. It didn't move today, so that's a good thing! lol

See you all tomorrow!  By the way, how do you all like the new cc?  Join any groups?  I did!  I was so excited! lol

momof2~  I was good, I exercised.  I think the dreary weather and rain make me want to stuff my face though.  I was pretty proud of myself yesterday because they ordered Pizza Hut for everyone and I didn't touch it.  Glad to hear you're feeling better, just don't over do it!  :D  Oh, and I joined one of the new groups... the Orlando area one.

Hi all,

Another days rest from the gym - am not feeling good for it :-(

Also, have had a fall out with my boyf and that has driven me into the arms of my sin food. Started the day with a huge bacon and egg sandwich on thick white bread. But it made me feel better so never mind.

Will have to do my weigh-in tomorrow as I am in a mood already!

Hope you're all having a better day!

FINALLY broke 180.  179.6 this morning.  Keeping my fingers crossed that it stays off.  :)  Never thought I'd see the 170's again.

hi everyone!

k9, hope you didnt get flooded out! I hear Fay is still going with the rain.. That sounds like such a mess with the kennels and all.. Hope it doesnt get any worse! oh, and great job avoiding the Pizza.. I wish I was that good!

momof2, great job with the eating! I'm glad to hear you are feeling a little better-- just take it easy, dont push too hard for your walk.. I was a real dumba$$ and thought I would try to do my run last night, as I was feeling a little better too-- I did ok for about a mile, but then the pain set in and by the time I was home I could barely walk! grr.. I dont know if I have a shin splint or what, but dang it really hurt! I am feeling better this morning, but i think i better give it a rest for a few days at least..I iced it for a bit last night and popped some pain pills.. i did join the 'Minneapolis and surrounding area ' group, and the 'thirysomethings' group.

aww, Newlook, sorry to hear about the boyfriend troubles! Try not to use the foods too much for your comfort.. use your journal or you can vent to us! Hang in there!

ohtobethin, Congrats on breaking 180!! Thats great!

Newlook~ Sorry to hear about your BF problems... men can be such jerks sometimes.  As for the gym, we all need to rest sometimes.  You can't beat your body to death, that won't do it any good.  I am taking the day off of exercise today and I feel guilty too, but I'm pretty sore from running the other day.  It's better to rest a day or so.  As for the "sin" food... white bread isn't the worst thing you could have eaten at least.  Personally, I would have gone for a tub of chocolate peanut butter ice cream! Hang in there girl!  :D

Ohtobethinagain~ Congrats on getting into the 170's!!!  I bet you're feeling pretty good right now, great job!

Wendy~ yep, still dealing with the rain from Fay... work is still flooded at least 3 feet, if not more.  I couldn't even work at that location today, had to go the the Daytona location and groom the dogs there (the dogs by us were transferred there overnight because the water kept rising).  Won't be able to groom tomorrow or probably Sunday either.  :(  The flooding there is just unbelievable... I'm sure the cleanup will be just as much fun, lol.  NOT looking forward to cleaning out all the mud everywhere, yuck.  We lost power at our house about a half hour ago too, for maybe 30-40 minutes and then it came back on... I was having cc withdrawl, lol.

Went to the grocery store and got some yummy goodies today... some Peanut Butter Cookie Luna Bars, hard boiled eggs, lean turkey & some Light Italian Herb Wraps (only 90 calories), Special K Protein Cereal, Cinnamon Weight Control Oatmeal, Skim Milk, SoBe Lean, Honey Wheat English Muffins, Sunchips, a Honeydew Melon, and some Fuiji Apples.  As you can probably imagine, my bill was not cheap, but most the items are pretty healthy.  I'm proud of myself (and making myself hungry, lol).  What are some of YOUR favorite items to eat at home??  Oh, and I like Smart Dogs too... (tofu hot dogs low in calories).

One of my favs lately has been a walnut raspberry dressing from Walmart.  Sounds odd, but the #2 ingredient in it is horseradish.  I've been eating it on boiled shrimp.  Sometimes with lettuce, sometimes just the shrimp and "dip."  It's only 70 calories per serving.  Good standby dinner for when I haven't done so well during the day.

Some of my favs to eat is 50/50 rasberry fruit spread on toast w/ I Cannot Believe It's Not Butter spray. I love it!!!  The fruit spread is only 5 calories for a Tbsp and the spray butter is 0 calories. The bread in 35 calories/slice. Not a bad snack!

Another thing I like are my Slimfast Shakes!  Alot of people don't care for them bc of the sugar content. I like them and only180 calories and lots of vitamins.

Now for my day....I went to McD's with my daughter today and got the nugget meal.....850 cals. So with my 500 cals earlier that put me at 1350!  I just ate a salad for dinner and ended up with about 1500 calories for the day. Lots of sodium....so drinking tons of water and running to the bathroom every 1/2 hr! lol

Tomorrow is WI for me....bet I'll be up from the sodium!

Have a nice weekend everybody! :D

k9, Glad to hear you are alright.. didnt see you post earlier like you usually do and was a little worried about you.. Is your house staying dry anyway? Sounds like such a disaster with the Kennels- yuk..

Good job Grocery Shopping! I need to go to the grocery store again soon too.. usually have to go at least a couple times a week feeding 6 in our house-- at least to keep milk in the fridge! My favorites at home are my breakfast, which I usually eat everyday-- Kashi Go Lean Cereal, an Orange, skim milk with a scoop of Slimfast, and my teas, and a big glass of water.. I also must have Spinach and Broccoli on hand all the time (I can hear my kids groaning now, and my hubby- he really hates spinach and broccoli!) and Strawberries, occasionally blueberries, almonds, my Dannon Light-n-Fit yogurt, apples, carrots, grapes, assorted frozen veggies, sometimes asparagus (when its on sale!), bagged salads (romaine or  spring mix varieties- I despise iceberg lettuce!), boneless skinless chicken breasts, Whole wheat Pastas, low-sodium spaghetti sauces, Light Whole- Wheat Bread, Celery, Peanutbutter, and granola bars (for the kids), sometimes Boca burgers and Smart Ones entrees for a quick meal..Sometimes Breyers Ice Cream or fudgcicles for a treat! oo, and my Dark Chocolate.. Hersheys Cacao Reserve 65% Cacao with Nibs-- my fav! yum..

Wendy - thanks for the kind words. I am such an emotional eater - finished the day scoffing a ridiculous amount of chocolate pudding plus wine. Yesterday was definitely a write-off diet wise.

But am starting afresh today. Men- they are such a pain! I have to learn not to head for food as soon as I start feeling bad.

Am doing a 10mile canoeing thing with my friends tomorrow - which is going to be a real challenge - and will certainly give my arms a work out. Plus its a bank holiday on monday in the UK. Hurrah!

Have a good Saturday all. Smile

PS - ohtobethinagain - fab new hitting 170s! well done. hope to get there myself next week.

Hi everyone!!!!!!! Missed the last couple of days due to work and weather.

momof2-Hope your feeling better.

K9- Glad the storm wasn't to bad for you.  We are still getting lots of rain and losing power occasionally.  Guess I won't be going out this wekend so maybe I'll get my house clean.

Everyone have a great weekend.

Mmm... you guys have some good food ideas!  It was good seeing what everyone likes.

Wendy~ No need to worry about me... I didn't post earlier yesterday because I was distracted by work.  They called me in the morning and told me I need to work out of the location by Daytona Beach, so I had to drive to my flooded work and pick up my tools and then drive over to Daytona and work for a few hours grooming a couple of the dogs we evacuated over there.  Sooo... that kept me busy for a little while.  :)  Yes, the house is dry - thankfully we're on higher ground.  Rain has stopped now, yay!

Momof2~ McDonalds?!  I'd say you shouldn't feel too bad about 1500 calories after eating there.  It could have been a lot worse.  I would think those chicken nuggets would have to be one of the higher calorie items on their menu.  At least you're drinking tons of water.  Good luck with the weigh in!!  :)

Newlook~ The canoeing sounds really fun!  Great arm exercise too.  Have fun & forget about the man problems!

Ro50bin~ Glad to hear you're okay... stay safe & hopefully Fay won't be too bad for you.

I was in a bad mood today, so I decided to treat myself.  We went to Tijuana Flats (one of my favorite mex restaurants) and I had the small size chicken chimichanga, but got it with the Powerlite (lowfat sour cream and cheese) option and with a wheat wrapping.  I had a side of refried beans and rice with a diet coke.  Oh, and we had an appetizer of chips and salsa.  It was sooo  yummy.  Then, to top it all of... we went to DQ and I had a medium Thin Mint Blizzard.

Embarassed

I'm a bad girl today!  Breakfast was good though... Special K Protein cereal with fat free skim milk, and I drank water and a liter and a half of green tea.  Need lots of fluids to rinse out all that sodium.

Momof2~ don't feel bad about the McD's... I think I'm being worse.  :(

Well, I was at 178.8 this morning.  Goal for this week was 179.  YAY!  Didn't do so good today.  Ended up with 2100 calories.  Never make the mistake of waiting until the end of the day to log everything in.  If I had to guess, I would probably have said 1500 for the day.  Boy, was that wrong.  Oh well, tomorrow is another day.
