Wendy~ Good luck with the ultrasound and catscan.  I hope everything is fine!  I'll be thinking of you!  :D

momof2~ Glad you're feeling better... I hate it when that happens!  I'm trying to stick to my plan and not get discouraged... easier said than done though.  I worked out with my weights really hard last night and my body is really sore today - ouch!  It's also tougher than I thought to eat so many calories when you're used to restricting so much.

Just came back from the dentist... uggh.  Not fun... have to go back for a cleaning and 3 fillings.  One was a small cavity and the other two are messed up fillings that need to be redone.  I guess my previous dentist wasn't as good as he claimed to be.  :P

Hi ladies!

Got back from the hospital awhile ago, and they didnt find anything wrong on the ultrasound or catscan.. good news, but I still just dont feel right-  I still feel 'short of breath' I guess you would call it.. and not pain, but like a pressure on my chest area.. almost like one of my kids is laying on me, or like I am wearing a really uncomfortable bra.. I dont really know how else to explain it.. I am going back on Monday if I dont improve. Thanks for your concern guys.

momof2, that sounds awful! I hate feeling sick like that! Glad you're starting to feel better though.

k9, Sounds like quite a workout.. better give yourself a day or two to recover. Really, though, you are finding it harder to up your calories? I find if I let myself, I could easily do 2000-2500 a day no problem! yikes! but that is probably with a lot of junky food that I miss sometimes (ei, chocolate, ice cream, desserts, pizza, etc) .. Maybe it would be harder to up calories and still be a really 'good girl' with eating.  No fun at the dentist, ugh.. I dont mind the cleanings so much, but I absolutely hate having fillings done! I cant stand the sound of the drill! I still need to get my wisdom teeth out too.. I have been putting that off for a few years or better now.. I always get scolded about it at the dentist too. Have you had yours out? Does it hurt alot?

My stomach keeps hurting off and on. I went on a run to subway and it started up again so I fell asleep when I got home for an hour. Now it's ok, so I just 1/2 my turkey and ham sub. So far it's not hurting and it's been 20 minutes since eating it. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

k9 - I agree. Take a couple days to recover from that. I have a hard time upping my calories and still eat "healthy". It's hard! When you eat junk, it's easy to get all those calories. I hate when dentists don't do their job right! Getting the same thing done twice is not my idea of fun at all. I hate dentists really bad!

wendy - noone knows your body better than you, so if you don't feel right be persistent that something is wrong. Did you have blood work done? Was it ok?

I never got my wisdom teeth! I'm one of the few that didn't get them. My daughter had hers out and she was in alot of pain with hers. But her boyf had his out and did just fine! He was eating in 2 days and my daughter couldn't eat for like a week! She was so hungry.

Sorry I've not been around... I'm still a little bummed with the weight. Though, at my physical today, the Doctor was very pleased, because I've grown half an inch and lost about 20 pounds since last year.

So, I guess all there is to do is run and jump back on the wagon. I need to pick up the exercise, because I'm getting lazy again, and I need to eat healthier and not drench things with olive oil. Smile

Nice to see you are all doing so well! You guys are by far the best motivation around!Laughing

wendy~ Glad to hear that they didn't find anything wrong, but sorry to hear you still don't feel right.  Do you think you may be having an anxiety attack?  I have anxiety issues occasionally and it can make you feel short of breath and like a tightness in your chest, kind of uncomfortable.  Are you under a lot of stress lately?  As for the wisdom teeth, I had mine removed about 3 years ago.  I was told by a dentist a long time ago that I had a small jaw and that they wouldn't be able to come in, BUT they were wrong and 2 of the teeth started poking through.  So, they made me have them removed and they took out the other two impacted ones too.  It wasn't bad at all, don't really remember anything besides them jabbing my arms trying to find a vein for the IV, lol.  My only real problem was that I got a couple "dry sockets", which were very painful.  I had to go to the oral surgeon's office several times to have them jab in some kind of packets into the sockets, which didn't feel too good.  I don't think it's real common to have the "dry sockets", so as long as you don't have any of those, it's not a big deal.

momof2~ Glad your able to keep some of your sub down.  :)  Did my running tonight, but won't do weights again until tomorrow.  It's tough to up my calories because I'm trying to eat healthy and get an "A" each day.  Watching the fat percentages and trying to up the protein.

sharky~ Welcome back!!  :D  Don't be bummed about the weight, it'll come off.  Besides, you want to be healthy, not to just focus on achieving a number on the scale (I learned that the hard way, lol).  Get back on that wagon!!!  ;)

Well, I hate to say this.....BUT I ate some ice cream and a bag of those potato skin things flavored like bacon (239 calories). Who knows how many cals were in the ice cream. Then I put chocolate syrup on the ice cream!!!!

I don't know why I ate the ice cream. I didn't really want it and even when I was putting it in the bowl I kept thinking I shouldn't be eating this! But I did anyways. Now I feel horrible for it. :(  I'll cut back to 1200 calories for a couple days to make up for it and walk alot. Hope that works!

I've had a "dry socket" before when I got a tooth pulled and it wasn't fun! It hurt like heck!

I'm feeling much better now. Of course, I ate ice cream so I must be better now!  I'm so stupid. :(

well, talk to everyone later! c ya! ;D

Morning girls.

Well its either day 3 of the hangover........ or I'm sick.  I'm going with no hungover cause I haven't had a drink since Wednesday. This sucks.  I have my sisters 30th party tonight in the city and I'm hosting!!!   Going to have to lie and say my soda water has vodka in it -cause there is no way I'm drinking tonight.

Momof2 ~ Enjoy the ice cream!  You never know it make kick start your metabolism.  I ate a ton yesterday and somehow I'm down 1lb today!  wtf?  I had a sausage and egg sandwich, berries, hoisin duck wrap, popcorn and soft shell crab for dinner (lightly tempura'd).  I really don't get it. But I'll go with it. lol

K9 ~ glad the dentist was ok. Reminds me I really should find one over here lol.

Wendy ~ how are you feeling today?  Has anyone suggested that maybe you pulled your intercostal muscles?  You have (I think) two muscles that sort of wrap around your chest where your ribs are.  I have pulled them before and it feels like you can't breathe.

I'm off to go pick up my boys - and then somehow figure out how to stop feeling so dizzy and like I'm going to throw up.  BYE!

Hi everyone!  Haven't had the big weigh in yet today...waiting for the coffee to kick in and maybe make me lose some more fluid  Wink  Anyhoo....sounds like for the most part everyone is motivated or motivated to be motivated!  I haven't been exercising...I am just soooo freakin tired lately, maybe b/c of TOTM.  That is over now..thank goodness.

Niccimax-There is no way that is a hangover.  Maybe you are sick or have sinus/allergy issues?  I know that my head was KILLING me yesterday and I felt nauseous.

Momof2- Don't beat yourself up.  There is no point in it.  Move on and try to better next time.  What I have been doing lately is buying icecream treats that are pre-wrapped (mini ice cream sandwiches, pops, cones etc)  Then that way I can have my treat, but know exactly the nutritional value/calories of what I am eating

Wendy- I would just keep track of your symptoms and write them down.  Definately go back to the doctor if you are still not feeling well.  Do you still have the symptoms?  The breathing thing sounds like anxiety if your vitals and pulse ox were ok. Not sure about the calf pain connection though

Sharky-Welcome Back! Look at the big picture. 20lbs is awesome!  I know I get discouraged that on a daily basis it doesn't look like much, but you are making progress.  More importantly, are you healthier than last year???

Leo-Welcome back!  You are still doing great, even if you did fall off!  I've been amazed to see how well you have done since I have been in this group. You have motivated me to do better!

K9- You exercise more than I could ever even dream of!  You motivate me to be motivated to exercise! (not up to the actual motivation yet, but I am getting there Wink)

I will check in later after my weigh in!

O.K..... I am back after my weigh in. I weigh 184.5!  That is 3lbs in a week. Now, I realize that alot of it was water weight cuz I had my period last week,...but I don't freakin care! I am psyched!!!!  I'm hopin to be down to 170 by Halloween, then maybe in the 50's by Christmas. (Hey, a girl can dream) I am super motivated now.  Hope everyone else had a good week!!

Ok, I've moved on.....AND GUESS WHAT????  Hubby wants to buy me something! So I'm getting a HRM/Pedometer!!!  I'm so excited!!!  Now I know exactly how many cals I'm burning and everything. He felt bad for me bc my son was giving me a hard time this morning and talk about disrespect!

I was about ready to cry. I kept telling him if he didn't stop talking to me like he was, he was gonna be in even more trouble than he's already in. AND he said he didn't care!!! (((((SCREAM))))))  He was squating down getting stuff off the bottom of his closet and I pushed him over. He's lucky I didn't push him thru the loset wall as mad as I got. Then hubby came up and I let him deal with it and I went to the basement. I'm washing HIS clothes!!!!!

Well, thanks for listening to my rant. I try not to do that, but I just couldn't stop typing!! LOL

Ended up going for a late night walk last night (2 miles) in the dark. It was nice and cool out. It was nice to walk in the dark when everything looks different. I stayed close to be safe and I was surprised when I googled my walk that it ended up being 2 miles. I walked in circles around the block! lol

Now these are country blocks, not city blocks! lol  So they are small blocks! :)

Going for a walk soon and should be nice bc it's windy and cloudy out. And I need to "destress" myself for the rest of my day. :)

momof2~ Don't worry about the ice cream, it's over.  That's one of my main weaknesses too, lol.  I LOVE DQ.  Sorry your son is disrespectful.  :(  Just one of the many reasons I don't want to ever have kids, lol.  Sounds like you're good to him and he's not very appreciative of what he gets.  Maybe he should start buying his own clothes and doing his own laundry?  Good job on the late walk, but be careful!  :)

niccimax~ Sounds like you've got some sort of flu virus or something...  Hope you feel better for the party and have fun picking up your boys!!  :)

ladyelizabeth~ CONGRATS on the 3 lbs lost!  Yay!!  Go for that 170 by halloween, you can do it girl!!  :D

Not much to report today... still very sore from the lifting.  Actually, I think my legs are much my sore than yesterday because of my run last night.  It's painful to try to sit down or pick anything up, lol.  Having an easy day today... going to take the dog for a walk and maybe some yoga later.

k9- That's what I'm starting to push myself towards, good health. I realize now that numbers are great but I what I need is to be healthy while losing weight. A delicate balance Laughing

lady- I'm much healthier than last year. I marched 4 miles the other day for marching band, went to a fair, then walked another 4 miles home. Last year, I wouldn't have even been able to march 1 mile, let alone 4. It really feels good to look at it like that!

I just ate 4 pieces of chicken, two cups of rice pilaf and some string beans. Maybe this is my long desired growth spurt coming up... lol.

I walked two miles with my little brother today. I wanted to walk more... but it started raining. The walk was pretty brisk already because of all those mosquitoes (there's west nile in my area).

Tae-Bo sounds pretty good right now, actually. Are the online estimites accurate in saying about 700-800 calories per hour are burned? I really hope so. It sure feels like it!

Well, that's all for now. I hope you are all doing well! Have an awesome evening.

k9 - Don't get me wrong, my kids make me laugh more than cry. I enjoy their company and they make my day (most days). They can get lippy with us, but I know I did the same thing as a teenager. And he does do the laundry when I can't get down the steps. And when I could barely move around he helped clean the house and everything. He does buy his own clothes at times with his allowance. Hope your legs feel better! Take it easy til they heal. :)

I got my HRM today!!!!  I burn so much more calories than I thought. And what google was telling me. I guess bc my heart rate goes up so high when I walk. I can't wait to go on my normal walk tomorrow and see what it says I burn! I might have to get up early and go since the steeler game starts at 1. I like getting new toys to play with!! LOL

Sharky~ Glad you're focusing on being healthy!  I'm not coordinated enough to do Tae-Bo, lol.

momof2~ I understand.  I'm sure you're kid is just being a normal teenager... I'm sure i gave my parents plenty of grief in my day.  They always would say they couldn't wait until I had kids and my kids would do the same thing to me - well, guess what, I'm not planning on having any kids, so the jokes on them. LOL.  Anyways... What kind of HRM did you get???  My birthday is coming up in a couple weeks and I was thinking of getting a Body Bugg, but I'm not sure.  They're pretty pricey and you have to get a monthly subscription to their website... been researching them and some people say to just get the HRM instead.  I've heard that the Polar ones are really good, so I'm looking into possibly getting one of those.  Let me know how you like yours.  :)

Morning everyone.

(Yawn) - well I picked up the boys yesterday, was SO nice to see them.  Came home and pretty much had to make myself up and head out for my sisters birthday.

I knooooow its probably because of the top I was wearing - but dammit if some idiot didn't come up to me at midnight... while I'm dancing with a drink in my hand and ask me when I'm expecting!!!! WTF!  I just lost 21lbs you AHOLE.  I think it was the shirt... wasn't exactly form fitting and I know things hang off my big boobs (sigh).

Anyways - scale flashed 163.5 this morning and settled at 164.  I spent half the night with cranberry and soda... but I'm weak and by the end of the night was throwing back raspberry mojitos like they were going out of style. So - yep you guessed it - little foggy today.

I promise you I don't have an alcohol problem - lol.  Just a few big nights crammed into one week - I'm off the booze now for the month ;)

Momof2~ how much does a HRM cost?  Sounds need - and I'd be interested to know what I burn in a day.

niccimax~ Some people can be such a-holes!  I can't believe some idiot would come up to you and ask that?!  Fortunately, I've never had anyone ask me that... I'm sure I would cry.  You're doing so well though, so don't let it get you down.  Probably was the shirt, especially if you're big chested, that doesn't help things.  ;)

Well, momof2, you gave me the itch to get a HRM too.  I decided I need a new toy to play with too and my b-day is coming up soon.  So... my husband just bought me a HRM!  I got the Polar F11 (blue glow one)....  I'm so excited!  I've read many good reviews on it and a lot of people on this site use it too.  Yay!  :D  If you want to check it out - http://www.shoppolar.com/_polarelectrostore/c gi-bin/go.cgi/webstore/category_by_model?cate gory=Wellbeing%3A%20General%20Fitness&pid =

Where is everybody today???   Frown

Hi everyone.

Had a great day out with the family today -we went on a day trip to go explore the countryside.

I start back with my personal trainer tomorrow - I'm kinda nervous that he is going to kick my butt, but at the same time hoping that it spurs another bump in weight loss and/or starts to firm up what I got.

hi everyone! hope you all had a good weekend!

momof2, I know exactly how you feel with your boy.. mine (my oldest) can be the same way sometimes! Usually when he settles down though, he will apologize.. he really is a good boy, just has to learn to keep his temper in check, and remember how to talk to his momma! I'm kind of not looking so forward to a few years from now as mine all creep into their teenage years! My oldest is 13, but yikes when they all get around there!  Congrats on your HRM! Sounds really neat.. I would like to get one too eventually.

Sharky, you are doing great girl! Thats wonderful you are realizing that you need health over any # on the scale.. and thats really good for you to learn that so young! You are still a growing girl, so you may not need to lose as much as you think!

ladyelizabeth, congrats on the 3 lbs! thats fabulous!

niccimax, so sorry you had to get a stupid comment like that! that sucks..some people can be so ignorant!! Hope you are feeling better..

k9, Congrats on your HRM! Thats great! let me know how you like it... I am considering one sometime soon ..

Yesterday I ended up in the ER.. I was still having the shortness of breath, and the 'pressure feeling' on my chest, and then it started feeling somewhat warm too, and I was having pains come and go from my left jawline. I also felt pretty dizzy. I also was feeling very panicky because I know these are all signs of a heart problem. Anyways, at the ER they didnt really find anything wrong with my heart or lungs.. my BP was a little elevated, but they think its because I was feeling so upset. The doc in the ER seems to think it may be 'esophageal reflux'.. which was strange for me, because i am not sure that explains all the symptoms, and I have never really had problems with heartburn or acid.. So I dont know.. I will try taking the antacid they prescribed, and then go back to my doctor next week maybe.. I am feeling a little better today, but still have the feeling of pressure, and still some short of breath..  I just wish I could know for sure what the problem is!!

In other news, I weighed 158.6 this morning!! yay, finally under 160!
