K9 - LOL  I'm the same way, actually. the only time I was regular was with BCP's.  Now I don't need them, and ttom just happens when it wants to! I notice lately though they are getting shorter, especially this month! Maybe it's the weight loss. Who knows!

Woke up this morning with a nasty cold. Guess I got it from my kids! We just pass around everything!  I drank 2 huge cups of hot tea to clear my head up. I feel better since I got up, but I'm tired. I just keep coughing and sneezing!

Guess there won't be a walk today and I weigh in tomorrow! I had planned on a big walking day today. That was my plan. Eat good and go on short, often walks to work up the metabolism.

newlook08 - Shame on your bf! Everyone needs a break now and then from working out. Especially when the muscles ache. Enjoy getting your hair done!

Hi girls.

Personal trainer today kicked my ****!  Had the biggest yummiest cob salad afterwards. soooo slow at work today - might kill myself.

Hi everyone!

Been pretty busy again.. we close on fatherinlaw's house on Friday, so scrambling around to get everything cleared out and ready.  I weighed at 160.2 today.. didnt eat the best over the weekend, and kind of expected my weight to be a little elevated from the weight lifting last week. I think my ttom is knocking on the door soon-- i just have been craving sweets something awful! Havent given in too bad, but had a little here and there. We went to an apple orchard on Sunday and picked a peck. Pretty spendy, so I dont know if we'll keep making our annual orchard trip! $16 for a peck! I'm not even sure how many lbs that is, but it seems awful high. I made an apple crisp yesterday, and it is pretty good.. smelled wonderful in the oven! I had a little piece. I havent been to the Y since Friday, and should really go today, but ugh, so much laundry and housework to catch up on! blah!

momof2, great new pics! You really have changed alot! I took down my pics cause my hubby saw and freaked out about me having pics of me and the kids on.. He gets so damn paranoid about stuff like that! lol about the ladyfingers.. thats funny they ate them all! I wish I could go back to bed for awhile after getting my son up for school! but, i have to keep up, prodding him along, or he would probably miss the bus.. and then I have to get the other 3 up to get ready for school after he leaves. My oldest son's bus comes about 7:00, and the rest of them get on a bus about  8:20... and by then its quite late enough that I better get my butt in gear and get things done. Sorry about your cold.. I am pretty much over mine now, and my son is still milking it. He wanted to stay home today, but I told him if he did, he would stay in bed to rest and no TV, so he opted for taking some Cold medicine and going to school.. I think he just wants to laze in front of the TV instead of going to school!

Nicci, thats pretty cool about seeing the celebs at The Ivy! Sorry you're having a hard time with ttom.. mine is usually pretty regular, but every now and then it kicks in real hard and lays me up the whole week..ugh! Good Luck with the trainer!

ladyelizabeth, what kind of 'eating plan' is it? Thats great your son already dropped 6 lbs!

k9, mmm, cracker barrel.. there used to be one not too far from me, but they closed i think.. I think the nearest one now is at least an hour or better away.. probably better for me anyway! I dont think there are too many low-cal items on that menu! Your trip to Universal Studios sounds like so much fun! I'd like to take the kids there someday, but seems awful spendy..my hubby doesnt do rides, so I dont know what he would end up doing at an amusement park! You are doing so great with c25k! you must be pretty close to the end! Do you think you'll sign up for a 5k run at all? I am hoping I will be able to complete the program this time, and keep on running and working up speed and endurance over the winter, and then be able to sign up for some 5k runs next spring and summer.

newlook, I am really starting not to like your bf! Why does he keep putting you down? You are doing so great, and of course you should take a break when you need too, especially when doing weights! Dont you listen to him about any of his garbage! You are doing great!

momof2~  Hope you get rid of that cold and feel better soon!  Good luck with your weigh-in!

nicci~ Don't kill yourself!  :)   Personal trainer sounds great, wish I had one.

wendy~  Wow, you've been busy!  I'm with you on the craving sweets thing.... and my husband says I'm so moody and my emotions are all over the place.  Totm must be nearing here too.  Mmm, apple crisp sounds yummy.  Almost done with week 8 of c25k.  Would like to do a 5k, but the ones I've seen coming up are all on Saturday mornings and that's my busiest day at work... so, I doubt I'd be able to one anytime soon.  I kind of wish I could though.  Not sure what I'm gonna do once I finish the c25k.

k9, wow, almost there with c25k! If you use the podcasts at all, I know they have another set that goes from a 5k to 8k, and then after that there is another set that trains you to a 10k.. there are also the 'podrunner' series that are music sets that range from 135- 175? beats per minute and are each at least an hour long.. to help you build speed.. they come out with a new one just about every week I think.. maybe you'll be able to find a 5k sometime that isnt on a Saturday morning? or if you knew far enough in advance you could arrange to have the day off?

Help! I can't breathe!!!  I want this to be gone NOW!!!!

I ate terrible today. My throat is so sore that I don't wanna eat anything. So my calories for the day are from hot chocolate and soup. I don't know how this is going to affect my weigh in tomorrow. We'll see...

Good night all!  I'm going to bed, but don't know how I'm suppose to get any sleep......can't breathe!!!! :(  ((((SCREAM))))

aww, momof2, so sorry your feeling so yucky! Being sick really sucks! Take some sudafed and take as hot of a shower as you can stand- the steam does wonders for your sinuses. Hope you feel better soon!

Where can I read up about the C25K.... sounds neat and I love to really get back into running.  Tks.  161 on the scale today - Feel like I've been stuck in the low 60's for a month!

Hi all - not sulking today - had hair done so am blonder and happier :-) Even boyf managed to tell me I look 'lovely' - a big improvement from the usual 'nice'. Men - they are a pain!

Momof2 - hope you're feeling better soon.

Wendy - boyf has been a bit nicer since the 'slacker' comment. I think he realised I wasn't very impressed - and incase he didn't, I whacked him one to be sure ;-) (just to clarify - by 'whack' I mean a playful shove, I didnt actually punch him!!)

Also, did a good session at the gym today so feeling pleased with myself. I had an update with the (v hunky) trainer at the gym and told him about my progession to running. He pointed out that if its just a slow jog I'd be better off walking fast. And I told him it feels like running to me!! Oh well.

Can't believe how well you're all doing. Am still floating around low 180s but have noticed a bit more room in my jeans - so fingers crossed.

wendy~  I don't think I'm really interested in trying to run more than a 5k (just not a runner).  Running a 5k is a HUGE accomplishment for me, so if I can build up a little speed and endurance, that would be great.  Would love to run a 5k if I can find one on a Sunday or something.  The podrunner thing sounds interesting, maybe I'll look into that one.

momof2~  Hope you're feeling better today!  Good luck with the weight-in!

nicci~  To find out about the Couch to 5k Program, go to www.coolrunning.com or www.c25k.com  ; They make podcasts you can download and listen to to walk you through when to run or when to walk too.  There should be links on one of those pages to them, if not you can go to Google and search for them.  :)

newlook~  Glad you're doing better today.  Getting your hair done usually makes a person feel better (unless you get hacked like I did last time, lol).  Don't let your trainer discourage you from running, you've got to start somewhere, even if it may be a slow jog.  At least it's a start towards running.

So tired! Not much sleep due to nose running and not being able to breathe. My eyes are even watering today! Geeze!  I sprayed the house down with Lysol and wiped off everything to try to get rid of these germs!

Haven't weighed myself yet. I'll let ya'all know when I do!

I'm so jealous of you all running! :(  I don't dare try!

Hubby told me this morning he's buying a Wii for my son. His Birthday is Nov 1st. I can't wait!!!  So guess what I'll be buying????  hahahaha  I already told him too!

Have a good Wednesday everyone!

Hello everyone!  I've been a cc member for way too long now and I'm jumping back on the wagon.  I don't have batteries for my scale; but, I'm pretty sure I'm in the 180's right now.

So here's my plan...

Exercise-
I started walking my son to school this week which will give me a 40 minute low impact cardio workout 5 days a week and I have a walking buddy on mondays and we do 60 minutes each workout.

Food-

Pack my lunch each day and plan meals.  Use the crockpot more often to save time and freeze 1/2 of each recipe for dinners the next week.  (its just me and my 6yr old son in the house)  Also, I am going to keep more quick to make healthy travel food on  hand and pack lunches/snacks for whenever we go out to avoid the golden arches.

The little goal calculator thing told me I could be skinny in time for the summer of 2009!

I weighed in today .......  171.6!!!!!  I'm down 2.4 in a week!!!!  Probably coulda been better if I hadn't had that donut yesterday!  It's just this darn cold has me eating crappy!  Soup, hot chocolate and more soup!!!  So I figured a donut wouldn't hurt. Maybe it didn't make a difference. I didn't come close to my calorie limit though.

ltl - Welcome back on the wagon!!!  Hold on though, this wagon here is bumpy!!! lol  Sounds like you have a plan! Good luck!

Momof2 - WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!  Thats huge! And totally because of all your amazing walks. Keep with it.

momof2~  Hey, good job!!  You're almost to the 160's!!!  Just a little more, you can do it!  =)

ltlmsmfft~  Welcome to the group!  Sounds like you have good goals & a plan, which is good.

I'm exhausted today!  Had to work late and didn't get home until after 7pm.  No energy to workout today either.  Blah.  Maybe I'll just go to bed.

Welcome ltlmsfft!  Sounds like you have a good goal.  You will get great support here.

Ok...so the eating plan that I am on that everyone is asking about:

It is TEMPORARY, to get "into a groove" to to speak.  He says that it takes 6 weeks to establish any kind of routine, therefore it is a 6 week plan.  It is NOT easy, but seems to be effective looking at my son.

He calls it "The Magic 3"

Basically it consists of chicken, baked sweet potato and broccoli.

You have to eat every 3 hours (to boost your metabolism)

NO seasoning (this kills me, but he says it is so you get used to what food actually tastes like , and at the end will use much less in the way of seasoning )

LOTS of water

He allowed us to have scrambled eggs/protein shake in the a.m.

That is it!!!

It is a pre-cursor to "eating clean" Meaning only eating fresh foods, no chemicals or preservatives.  The 6 weeks helps clear these things out of your system.  After the 6 weeks, other "clean" foods will be added back in.

I haven't weighed in yet, but I gotta tell ya, I feel great!!!!  I didn't give up my coffee though.  His major objection to coffee was the calories in the creamer, but when I added it all up, it was getting a little difficult to get all of my calories in, so I just drink my coffee!!!

I will tell everyone how I did, I weigh in tomorrow, even though I only started Sun., because my weigh in for the Halloween challenge is on Fri.

Congrats on your loss Momof2, you are doing awesome!!!!!

ladyelizabeth~ Your new diet sounds interesting... glad to hear you're feeling good.  So, what happens when you start eating normally again?  Don't things like this only work to drop some weight for awhile and then when you resume normal eating habits it eventually comes back?  Sorry, I had to ask.  Very skeptical of any kind of diets like that.  I can understand if you always eat "clean" and only natural, but what kind of people can actually do that all the time?

K9- Well, like I said,  I will just eat my calorie allotment and use different "clean" foods to get there.  I know it is IMPOSSIBLE to eat like that all the time.  I actually have a wheat intolerance and am supposed to stay away from anything with wheat, but can't do that all the time.  When I go off it, it's about moderation.  A piece of cake as opposed to half...you know?  I am a skeptical person too, but it is not calorie restrictive and CC gives it an A nutritionally.  It's very balanced, no restriction of Protein/Carbs, has the veggie component.  I WANT to eat as clean as I can, but I know it's not realistic to think I can do it all the time.  I have just been so stuck for so long, and I am extremely frustrated.  I figured if I could do something to give my metabolism a kick and get the process underway, I had nothing to lose except hopefully some Lbs!!!!

Lady - I've heard if you change your "diet" it will give you a boost. Let us know how it turns out.

I finally went on a good walk today. Have some sniffles today, but feeling alot better, FINALLY!!!  :)  I burned 660 calories on my walk, so it was a nice walk. Stayed away from most of the hills today trying to avoid a big cough attack.

Not much else going on.....

Lady~  Sorry to be so skeptical.  =)  It does sound like the food is pretty healthy, and like momof2 said, changing your "diet" could give you a good boost in your weight loss.  I'm sure getting a good jumpstart will give you even more motivation.  :)  Let us know how it works out.

momof2~  Glad to hear you're feeling better today.  660 calories is pretty good!  Just took my dog for a walk and I only burned 75 calories, but that was only about 20 minutes for brisk walking.  She can't go too long yet because her leg has only just healed from surgery.

Still feeling pretty drained today and awaiting my totm... must just be PMS.  *sigh*  Made a pretty good dinner tonight - yes, I actually cooked!  I made mini turkey loaves... makes six muffin sized loaves.  They were pretty good... they have cheese and onions in them.  Also made some baked potatoes and had a little fat free sour cream.  Hubby really liked the dinner.  =)  Hoping to get on my treadmill and run pretty soon, but I have a headache and it sounds so unappealing.  I guess I'd better just do it - longer I wait, the less I'll want to!  TTYL!
