Hi all!

Hope you're doing ok. Haven't been on for a few days,been away to the coast with my boyf for our anniversary  - 10 years!!

Anyway, rather enjoyed the food and drink while I was away, but did do lots of walking too - and even some horse riding which was great fun!

So will try to get back to the gym tomorrow. Eck, hope I'm not too rubbish when I get back to it.

Welcome Marilyn! Never too late to come on in here :) This is a great place for support.. hope you stick around awhile. I'm 34 too!.. I started off early May at 186 (when I finally got a scale).. was probably closer to 200 over last winter. I am currently around 160ish. I am 5'4", married, 4 kids, and aiming for 120-something.. I have 123 as my goal, but I am not so concerned about reaching any certain #, just really want to be healthy and fit! I'll know when i get there :) ..

Welcome Marilyn!  You will get alot of support here.  We tend to have started in the 80's but still stick around after below it!  I am crossing my fingers to be out of the 80's soon!!!!  My goal is to be 140 (or lower) but the big thing is getting rid of the fat rolls on my back!!

Sorry I've been MIA - the financial markets are throwing my career into chaos.  They laidoff 1/3 of my company this week, thank goodness I made 'the cut'... so I'm safe for now - but it means double the work (sigh).  So my hours and responsibilites are changing - which kinda meant I haven't done anything about my diet.  Good news is I didn't put any weight ON...... which I consider a small miracle. lol. 

I hope things slow down and I can get into a routine. 

Wendy and LadyElizabth - thank you for your messages. It was a lovely break away, sometimes you just really need a change of scene. Cant believe i have been with my boyf for 10 years LOL! Cant believe we've put up with each other :-)

Niccimax - Am really pleased to hear you survived the chop - good for you. I know how stressed you must be feeling, both mine and my boyf companies are looking to lose staff - its all a bit scary at the moment isn't it... :-( Well done on not putting anything on. As soon as I get stressed gym goes out the window - which is all wrong I know!! Keep your chin up - hopefully things with settle down soon...

Expect I am around 184ish - bit to scard of the scales and but am DETERMINED to get to gym tomorrow morning...

I've just been lurking about lately. hehehe  Since I got the news my mom has breast cancer I jsut haven't been too chatty.

I've cut back on my carbs in hopes of losing my last 10-15 pounds finally. I just can't seem to get below 170! :(

Looks like you all have been going strong for awhile. I hope its not to late to join. A couple of years ago I started out at 190 pounds and lost 25 pounds.  I was able to maintain at 165 for over a year, but recently with work stress and just not working out consistently I've gained 10 pounds. I couldn't believe it when I stepped on the scale and it said 175(yikes).  So, I'm looking for motivation to lose the 10 again and lose the last 10 I never got around to.  

I'm 5'7'' single 30-something

Hi, kgamble!  It's never too late to join us!  Welcome!  I have about 15 pounds to go after losing 65 lbs already. It's taken me a year so far.  I'm at 173 right now, so we can do this together! I'm 5'6", married, 40something! LOL what are you doing to lose weight?  Just counting calories?  I've decided to cut back on the carbs for the last 15 lbs.

Momof2funykds - Am really sorry to hear about your mum. My mum was diagnosed two years ago so I know how you must be feeling. My mum surprised us all by really tackling the chemo and radiotherapy head on, and thankfully she's doing well. Try to keep smiling...

Didn't manage the gym today - I am crap - but have spotted some lovely boots that I want and will use them as my incentive to get my ass back down the gym...

I'm just counting calories and trying to get to the gym as often as possible. With work craziness it is hard to get to the gym, but so far so good. I'm actually about to go squeeze in a workout now. 

I'm sorry to hear about your mom also.  Just like newlook08 my mom is a breast cancer survivor also.  I know how scary and crazy it can be, ditto on the keep smiling. I actually ran a 5k last month to raise money for breast cancer research and that partly motivated me to get back on a regular workout routine.  

 

 

Thanks for sharing your stories with me. I'm staying postitive my mom will get thru this just fine. She had her MRI today and the dr feels it will just be a lumpectomy w/out needing anything else. She had pain, so she got to the dr fast before it got out of hand. Thank goodness! They say pain is rare to have. She has 2 other lumps that are not cancerous that will be removed also.

I ordered a Jillian Michael's dvd to do at home and I'd have it now except for my lazy 21 yr old daughter didn't get up off her butt to answer the door to sign for it!!!  So I'll be waiting for it tomorrow!  I am so mad at her!  I waited all weekend for it!  She was 20 ft from the door for pete's sake!!! GRRRRR

Finally got my bum back to the gym this morning - hurrah, worked hard but it was hard!! Only managed five minutes of running, will have to build up on that!

Am determined to keep away from the carbs and chocolate today - have been indulging too muhc.

Hows is everyone?? Its gone rather quiet...!

I got my JM dvd today!  I did the 1st 20 min workout and I have to say I broke a sweat! :)  Tomorrow I'll do it twice. Today I got it late so didn't have much time to work out.

I'm going to start working out with free weights. Hubby says he'll be my trainer! Don't know how well this is going to work! LOL  But I think the weights will be a good thing for me now.

It is quiet in here now.....where is everyone???? :D

I did a sneak weigh in today!  179.5!  I haven't seen the 70's for a long long time!!!!!!  I am very excited, just had to share.  My "official" weigh in is not till Fri.

Newlook- keep at it, it'll get easier! I keep fallin off the wagon too, don't feel bad.

Lady Elizabeth - 179 i am so jealous. Jumped on scales this morning and crossed my fingers but still at 186. Boo. Will keep it up though.

Trying to go for healthy food today and my gym is closed - argh!! They are putting in new equipment - so hopefully it'll be more of an incentive to go...

Momof2, good luck with the weight lifting. I love lifting free weights--its cardio I hate. Is JM the woman from the Biggest Loser? Let me know how you like it. I'm looking to get some dvds for when I don't want to go to the gym. 

I did a cardio/strength training circuit from Fitness magazine yesterday.  It was killer! I was panting and sweating halfway threw. And this morning muscles were aching I forgot I had, but I'm going to do it again tomorrow.  No pain, no gain they say.
