Hey all!

Hit the sales today and got a fab pair of walking shoes half price which I plan to christen tomorrow on a good pre-new years eve walk! Hurrah! I now have no excuse not to walk, even though it's about 0 degrees here in the day! too cold for me!

I'd also like to join. I just started losing mid December and I'm at 189.6.

I was around 200 and I've been slowly dropping, my weigh in this morning took me by complete surprise, down over 10 pounds.

 

Newlook- I need to get some new shoes too!  It is so hard to be motivated to walk when it is sooooo cold out!

Just back from my walk in new boots - hurrah. was blinking cold but managed hour and half!

Also - wanted to say Happy New Year all!

I didnt quite manage my goal of 'Newlook08' perhaps i'll have better luck with 2009!

Managed a swim yesterday - am breaking myself back in gently!

Haven't been around here much.  I stayed home on New Year's.  It was nice watching the ball drop on tv with my son.  We've been reconnecting over the holiday.  It's nice.

Found out today there won't be much exercising in the near future for me.  My back has gotten worse and I really don't know what's in store for me down the road.  My MRI showed new things going on and it's "spreading" up my spine now.

I had hurt my knee and the dr thought I had torn my miniscus, nope.  It's fine.  I must've had a bad sprain.  So that's one good thing I heard today.

newlook - thinking of taking up swimming now since exercise isn't too promising anymore.  It seems to work for you!

 

Hi guys!  My new year was uneventful, I fell asleep on the couch.  My weight is up a bit from the holidays and PMS.  I am back up to 175.5 :(.  Majorly back on track though now that all that nonsense is behind me!!!

ladye ~ I just stayed home too and watched the ball drop with my son.  It was nice.  I haven't gone out in years for new years.  Too many wild people out! LOL

Had alot of pain today so I just layed around and watched the football playoffs all day.  My team won....Chargers!!!!  Tomorrow is the BIG game.....Ravens vs Dolphins.  Need the Dolphins to win so the Steelers can play them on the 11th and whoop their butts!!! hahahahahahaha  Steelers are going to the SUPERBOWL!!!!  Yeah!  Laughing

I'd like to join you all.  I was 185 last March and have finally gotten to 175 (hit 172.8 then bounced back up).  I really want to get to 160 by next June.  

Shoveled snow today for exercise, so that was good.  

Gym tomorrow....

I was fighting a cold off on New Year's eve, so called my sister in New Zealand to ask how it went (they are about 16 hours ahead) she told me that they welcomed it in true Kiwi style and assured me the universe was in order.  I took her word for it and went to bed.  Sure enough, when I woke up it was 2009. LOL!

(Niccimax here) - changed my name due to personal reasons.  ANYWAYS!

I was doing so good... was down to 155 when I left for Egypt with my husband... and sorta fell right off the  wagon over the holidays.  Stepped on the scale for 2 seconds yesterday and I think I saw 165... but jumped back off real fast.

So - here we go - I am determined to hit my goal of 150 this year.  Actually I'm going to hit it soon!

Ok so one day back on the diet and I'm back down to 161.8! LOL.  I guess it was just a ton of water weight (?)  Oh well............ on we go!

I read alot of magazines. Not too many books.

I've been buckling down on my diet and watching my calories close.  I'm learning balance.  How to balance out the "not so good" food with good foods.  for example, hubb cooked dinner tonight for him and my son and made fried chicken tenderloins and home fries.  He wanted me to try them and tell him how good it was.  so I ate a small pc of chicken and a small helping of potatoes, then I ate a whole cucumber. 

A friend, here on CC, does this and has had huge success with it.  So I'm gonna try it.  I'll let you all know how it works for me.  I guess the thing is a balanced diet over all.  So I'm learning how to balance it out and feel full.  Staying away from the sugar altogether now.  No junk food either.  Sugar causes me to just be hungry and want to eat way too much.  I have to be more aware of my eating and what causes me to want to eat more.

momoftwo - really interested in what you're saying. When you say you're avoiding sugar - what do you mean exactly. Friends tell me fruits have a lot of sugar in them... Or do you mean processed sugar (like in cakes etc)?

Am really trying to be good - and that menas cuttign out the booze - which I've been enjoying too much of over xmas. Going to have a drink on special occassion only - its my boyf bday next weekend so going to have nothing until then (week and half). Doesn't sound long - but have got used to having a drink daily. Opps. Going to try and do the same with chocolate.

Hows is your week going all? Back at work/ college now?

 

I would like to join please. My technical start date was back is september when i was at my highest weight ever... 200 lbs. I kind fell off the wagon a little but i am hoping to get back on track. My weight now is 188.8, which is great but i still have a long was to go, and i could really use some cc friends to keep me going!

Yeah, the sugary sweets I love so much have hindered my weight loss.  Just too much cake and ice cream and candy bars,....the list goes on and on! 

On the 5th I weighed 174.4 and today weighed 171.4!  3 pounds!!!!  I have to get back to my lowest of 169 and then go below that and keep on going!  I feel like I've started all over and it feels great. 

When I first started I was real strict on what I put in my mouth.  I got too relaxed and comfortable.  My mistake!  So now I'm balancing my diet and no more crap goes in my mouth for a while!

Welcome Silverstar!  Hi everyone else!  I am kinda bummed cuz I don't fit into my sexy dress I wanted to wear to my holiday party tomorrow :(    I could get some supersucker control garment but I don't feel like being squished all night!  So I picked a different outfit and will still use the dress as a goal for me!  I really need to get off my ass and start working out!  I do sink push ups and sit ups almost daily, but I need to do more than that!  Ughh!

Ladyeliz - don't let it get you down - you'll get there - esp if you're working so hard!

Finally got back to the gym this morning - OMG it was hard work, thats what i get for having two weeks off!Have got 7 weeks till I have to fit into this dress for the wedding. Eck - hope I can do it. Going to try and do the gym at least 3 times a week. Got to try!!
