Hi all,
Was back at the gym this afternoon - got some tips on doing more resistance work so hopefully will make a difference in the coming weeks.
Did nt manage no booze - but only had half a beer last night with my friends - a big step from my usual bucket of wine ;-) !!
Hope you're all having good weekends. Am taking my boyf swimming iwth me tomorrow - need a break from the gym!

Well I'm back counting - this is day 3?4? I am doing it with a girlfriend and we are going to hold eachother countable to what we eat. I went out and filled the fridge with fresh fruits and vegtables. Went for 2 big runs on my treadmill this weekend.
Feels good.
So - starting today I was 161.4 and I'm ready to finally get back down to 150. I lost sigh of the goal there for a while... but dammit this is going to happen.
Lady - What about creating a small savings account and putting some extra cash in each week (either what you *would* be paying a gym membership or whatever you can afford) - before you know it you will have enough saved up for a treadmill. Or at the very least a little treat for some new clothes when you need them! Its a good motivator. The other thing is look on your local craigslist or ebay - there are some good deals out there on second hand treadmills. Even if its just manual one that you put infront of the TV :)

Hi everyone....yesterday was weigh in day!! I only lost 1lb. but I'm okay with it. 1lb. less to lose!!!! Here are my current stats:
Starting wieght: 179
Goal weight: 135
Current weight: 173
Lbs.lost: 6
Keep up the good work everybody and we will all reach our goals in no time!!!!
SW: 185
GW: 145
CW: 161
My low was 157 but got a bit side tracked over xmas and went back up to 167. I'm on my down again!

Gym again today - and the weights really were hard! Am not getting on the scales until weds at my weigh in - am really hoping for some good results.

Doing good - went for 2 big runs this week. Took today off as the inlaws just arrived for a visit.
Sticking to my calories *1200*

Hi guys! Sorry I've been absent. I had a horrendous stomach bug in the beginning of the week and now hubby has it!
Newlook-Good job on the limiting drinking. I know that is hard, but it will make a tremendous difference! I find that not only does it help r/t weight, but I always feel groggy the day after I drink no matter how much/little it is.
Mommy-Yay 6 pounds lost! That is so exciting when you see the progress! You are catching up to me! I weighed in today and am at 171. I only lost .5 this week, but when I wasn't sick I ate junk, and plus it's TTOM. Maybe it'll be more next week.
Canuck- Good job! I wish I was 161! My goal is about the same as yours. I am at the lowest I have been in awhile, I can't wait to get in the 60's!

Have been for my weigh-in and measure at the gym. Am still the same on the scales but have lost some inches of my arms, chest and bum - whoo hoo! Not a lot, but at least its a start.

Scales worked in my favor this week - down to 157.2!!!!
Last night my husband came into the city and we went out for dinner and a movie... scales were up today but thats expected. I wish I could weigh in once a week but I get on every morning ggrrrr.
Treadmill has been getting lots of use - so glad I got it. Wednesday night I was really woundup and angry and instead of opening a bottle of wine to destress I went for a run! Thats huge for me :)
Had all the best intentions of going to the gym this morning -but we had so much snow - was really wary of getting on the road so early. And have to confess to having a glass of wine this evening - but will make up for it at the gym over the weekend.
Canuck - wish I was doing as well as you - think I need to follow your example:-)

Hello I'm here for your support!!! I just got in the the 180's 2 weeks ago... I've been stuck in the 190's forever and i finally put the effort forward to stick to a diet longer than a week and im doing so well.... it makes me so happy!!! As of today I'm 185 and 5'3" After a month and a half of diet and exercise I started at 198.... my target is to get into the 150's..... Good luck!!!
Hey a little late, but I would like to join too... I haven't weighed in for about 2 weeks and was 196 lbs. then and I have been consistently losing about 2 lbs a week.... just started eating healthier, cut the junk and started exercising more and counting those calories. So I think I am almost in the 180's now lol... for the first time in about 3 years.
Starting weight was: 234 July 2008 (my all time high)
Current weight: between 189 and 196
Goal weight: 140
Total weight lost so far: about 40 lbs.

Newlook- I am right with ya! I always "intend" to work out but somehow never get around to it! You do much more than me though, you should feel good about it!
Canuk- Wow! 157! That is so exciting! I think I can see that coming to me in the distance too! I am with ya on the weighing. It is kind of like an obsession with me! I hate it! Great job replacing wine with a run!
Hi all. Got back to the gym today - did a good workout - forgot how hard the weigths are eck! three weeks til my friends wedding - got to fit into that dress. fingers crossed. Am def on a booze and junk food ban now to speed it up.

I've been good lately. Running and eating well. The scale is finally good to me too. Its's 182.4 So nice to be closer to 180 than 190. It's been like 7 years since I was in the 170's. Can't wait.

I wanna join! I'm currently 185ish.. I haven't weighed in awhile. I started this new lifestyle change i think January 19th.. but I screwed up for a week and then got back on and have been workin at it ever since! I'm 5'5" ish I think, 18 years old (18 and a half lol), and I'm really lookin to be around 140.
I'm just going to go for that first 10 pounds and that will be motivation enough to push myself further. I'm so ready to start seeing results. I need to buy a scale though.

Well I was ok on the diet this weekend - bit of a lazy day yesterday. Scales are up a bit 159 - but I feel like I look better. I swear the running is changing my body... I just wish the scales would reflect it. Hoping they go back down. Its really frustrating that I lose more weight when I don't work out.

Canuck- I'm sure you do look better. I deal with that all the time. That is why I try like hell to stay off the stupid scale. I can be looking in the mirror, thinking I am doing good and then when I get on the scale I feel horrible because of the number. I am struggling with not getting on every day...it is sooo hard! At this point I do have a target weight but really, I will be happy when my gills are gone (back fat rolls)! Ha!

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
