180's club
Hi guys! Been gone quite awhile, glad there are still a few familiar folks still here :) I fell off track a bit over the winter and spring.. was about 160ish in October, maintained mid 160's over the winter, and was about 170ish around Memorial weekend.. but life has changed quite drastically for me- I started back to school in June (after 15 years!) and am also working part-time (I did daycare for about 5 years, and then was fortunate to have about 2 years as a stay-home mom) Keeping so busy has kept me eating much less anyway, and I am at 151.4 this morning. I havent really been logging my eating, so I would like to start doing that again, and I really need to find some time to start getting back into some exercise.. I am much too flabby. I still want to lose about 25-30 lbs more and hope I can by at least next summer.
Hey,
I am currently around 170-175. I am fluctuating and I really need some motivation to lose about 30 lbs. I want to be a healthy BMI because there are prevelant diseases in my family and I need to prevent them from happening to me. Plus, I want to wear a tank top without thinking about my muffin top spilling over my jeans. Anyway, I wanted to create a group for us so that we can all weigh in everyday to hold each other accountable and motivate each other. Maybe list our menu for the next day, so we can just follow that instead of "going with the flow" of eating (I know that is one of my major problem areas). Let me know what you think. Please add me as a buddy so I can read your journals. I would love to get to know people who can relate to my struggle.
LOVE ANGEL
Wendy!!!!!!!! Look at you!!!!! I can't wait to be in the 50's. Keep at it!
Wendy - that is so fantastic - well done!
hope you've all had a good wkend. Didnt do gym today - so will swim tomorrow.
x
I'm back running. I'm going to try and stick to it this time, altho I find it slows my weight loss (but I guess in the long run will make for a more toned body rather than 'skinny fat')
Went for a 5.7mile run Sunday, did another 3 this morning (and ran quite a bit last week). Just have to stick to it. Stop obsessing about the numbers. Keep running, eating right and the weight will happen.
Welcome Angel! We all can certainly relate! I was 190ish last summer and my last wt. was 175. I really want to be 145 ultimately. I do real well eating, but I am not really an exercise person, but I am trying to get motivated! Today I did 30min of a "Bollywood" workout. I thought it would keep me interested if it was fun. It did, but made me realize just how out of shape I am! I used to do taped workouts and barely broke a sweat! I'm going to try to do something for 30min at least 3 times this week. That is my goal!
Wow canuck! I can't imagine running that much...great job!
Welcome back Wendy! That is awesome you are in the 50's! I would kill to be there!
Newlook- hang in there, I know what it is like to be uber unmotivated to exercise (which is almost every day) I just realized that I have to in order to get where I want to be....like it or not.
My body builder friend says it takes 6 weeks to develop a habit, so if I can at least do 3 days a week for 6 weeks, maybe it will stick!
Okay, I'll be honest...
I'm 14, and my weight was exactly at 180, but now I'm 178.4 because I started a food diary about a week ago...
Can I still join?
I hope to get down to 130 by next year.
I'm 5"6 and this is my first day here... I just signed up 5 minutes ago!!
I'm really excited, and I feel this will be a great start for me... I'm even making this my homepage!!
Anyway.... I'm really excited to join!
183. Hello Everyone!
Welcome newbies - always open to new people to join.
I ran another 3 miles this mornig. Starting to feel good about the workouts :)
I'm a little scared for my weighin on Friday as I TTOM just hit (ggrr) - oh well, least neeeeext Fridays number should be good haha
Hi new people! You are always welcome no matter what your weight. A few of us got out of the 80's awhile ago but still hang around for support!!
Betsy- That's funny, that is my name too! You don't meet too many of us very often!
Chicgeek- I am glad you are excited, keep that excitement and turn it into motivation!!
Canuck- I know what you mean aboutTTOM! I always wanna just skip weigh in, but I am determined to keep myself honest this time and do things right! Need to stay on track at all times!!
Hi all - hi new guys!!
I really pleased to see the forum starting to pick up again - a bit off extra support makes all the difference!
Canuck - so impressed with your running!
Got down to the pool this morning and managed 50 lengths before work - which am quite pleased with. The most painful part was putting on a swimming costume!! Am going to try and do a couple of swims a week plus the gym. Have got a training session booked in the friday with my training girl. Shes started me doing some boxing which is great fun - has anyone else tried this??
Boxing is amazing for toning your body. My sister did it and credits it for a lot of her weight loss. Have fun :)
.... my husband just called and said my HRM arrived. I'm SO curious to find out how many calories I really burn when I run. Kinda wish it would tell me how many I burn in a 24hr period (without working out) - might test it out one day.

There is a betsyc (i think) on here too. I am an elizabeth too. Nice talkin to ya!
Hey all.
Finally got back to the gym this morning - and was it damn hard!
trying my best to eat well today. just been to the shops and the white chocolate cookies were calling be - but went for the grapes instead. :-)
Hope you're all ok.
I ran 5km this morning (or 3.2miles). Got a HRM and it said I burnt 385cals. Going to try and stick to this schedule and do it every day before work. I've shed half of what I put back on and am back at 167 :)
Canuck - can't believe how good you're doing with your running! I had a measily attempt at it yesterday - and its all I can manage to do five minutes! How long did it take you to build up to that?
Went for a swim today - managed 50 lengths before work, so not too bad i guess.
Gym tomorrow.
Hows everyones day?
Well if you remember I was running back at xmas... but couldn't go for that long. Now it seems easier the more I run.
1. Music - has to be good music with a fast beat. So I pick rave/house/dance music. There is no way when you put on some good **** house that you don't just want to run!
2. TV/Movie - I know this is bad, but I bot a small 19" TV and put it infront of my treadmill. I have my ipod on and I watch the subtitles of a tv show while I run. I get lost watching the show and forget I'm running.
3. Towel over the numbers. I don't like seeing how far I've gone or how many calories I've burnt. I just end up watching the time tick slowly. Cover it up!
4. Water - make sure you stop and drink water every 5mins. Keeps you going.
If you want to learn to run. I suggest you start a walk/run program.
Walk for 4 mins, run for 1. Do that for the first week for 30mins.
Next week - walk for 3 run for 2. Do that for 30mins.
Third week - walk for 2, run for 3.
Fourth week - Walk for 2 run foro 3, walk for 1 run for 4, walk for 2, run for 3.
Mix it up - got a your own pace but challenge yourself to go that extra min. Then walk. Then try again. The more you try the easier it gets.
I got up and walk/ran for 50mins this morning - over 4 miles :)
Crappy part was my number was a tiny bit up on the scale today and tomorrow is weigh in day. dammit.
Hope I'm back down tomorrow!
What I'm doing really good with is the diet - altho with the exercise I'm doing I'm sure some people would tell me that I'm not eating enough. I'm still sticking to a 1200/1300cal per day intake.
GGRRR!!!!! 169 today. WTF!
I run my **** off every morning and my weight went up over the week. Whats up with that? I tell ya, its hard sticking to the treadmill when I know the pounds would come off faster if I stopped.
Have to keep reminding myself that I will be better in the long run if I keep running.
