160's club

Quote  |  Reply

I didn't see a 160's club so I decided to start one. I'm in need of some motivation to keep the weight loss going!

I lost 30 pounds last fall but I've been completely slacking the past few months and ended up gaining a few pounds back.

I NEED to keep losing!

I weighed in at 168 this morning. My first goal is to get to 150. I'm 5'4" and I'd like to ultimately get to 130-135lbs.

Anyone else want to join me in the 160's club? (hopefully not for too long!) :)

I'm 165-167 right now, and I'd love to join. I've been in the 180's Club mostly but I suppose it won't hurt to hang out here, too =)

Hope you are all doing fabulous!

xzcandizx - I started my new eating habits after noticing that much of my weight gain was due to fluid retention.  For my entire life, I weighed less than 130.  But as soon as I turned 30 (now 39), I started retaining water.  And after 9 years of constant exercise and healthy eating, I'd only gained weight.  So I researched food allergies etc. and decided to eliminate the foods that caused me to feel bloated (cow dairy, red meat, wheat, added sugar and salt).  In the last month or so, I've found so many other food options that I actually enjoy more (calorie count plus has been very helpful).  And now I'm never bloated and wake up feeling good and energized throughout the day.   This weekend I hope to make it to 159.  Recommended Reading: The Waterfall Diet (Amazon)

Anyone want to start this back up?  I'm in the high 160's and want a 160 club to post in!

Anyone out there????

I do! I do! I do!!!!

I really want to join the "130 group"....but, I have to start off in the 160(something...) group...ahem.

I am struggling to find my motivation (it's here somewhere...) so maybe being part of a group will do it.

My life is extremely busy and I am apparently last on my list-- hence, my weight gain.

I need to lose these pounds in six months (I'll take sooner of course...).

So...Momof2kids....how do we get started?!?!

kimber ~ we'll just keep eachother motivated and support one another.  Maybe others will join us!

I'm at 169 right now. I usually weigh in on Wednesday, how about you?  I don't have a time frame. I gave that up a long time ago. lol  I've learned that the weight just comes off when it wants to.  I measure once a month too. Sometimes the number on the scale doesn't show what the tape measure does. I focus more on my measurements.

We have to learn to take care of ourselves along with everyone else.  If we aren't in good health, how can we take care of others?

I'll be back later!  :)

hey! Can I join...

I'm 5'8"

166.2

hoping to be 157 by december first! Lots of hard work ladies!

Should we have weekly weigh ins to show our progress?

Hello!

Wow...so, the full accountability route, huh? Actually doing weigh ins? (sigh) Okay...I'm game.

Hi jmalone!  Of course you are Welcome!

This group is for motivatation and support.  When you weigh yourself and want to share, you can.  :)  I think that would be better.  Not everyone wants to share their weight.  There are so many challenges for weigh ins already.

I know sometimes I don't want to tell my weight when I haven't lost.  And people tend to drop out when they don't lose.  I want people to stay.  Even when you are out of the 160's, you can stay.  :D

ok! sounds good; I understand...so anywho...

I lost 2.8lb this week! I'm so happy :) It's keeping me motivated for another week, and hopefully it'll just keep going that way :D

Apparently my practices for Crew team are keeping me in check!

Good luck everyone!

Great job jmalone!!!  That's a huge loss!!!!  That would certainly keep me motivated.  At least for another week! lol

Jmalone:

That's fantastic! I bet being on Crew also provides a lot of good upper body work outs as well as offers cardio.

It sounds really fun too!

Today I went on 2 walks!  I even used an 8 lb weight to walk with.  I ended up burning 900 calories between the 2 walks.  Yeah, I'm patting myself on the back. LOL

Well, weighing in tomorrow!  I hope I lost something this week.  I didn't always eat well, so we'll see!  I'm in alittle rut.  I suppose I'm just a bit relaxed since I've lost so much already.  But there's this last 15 I want to lose.  I guess I don't want it bad enough to do it.  I don't know.

Hope everyone has a good weekend, if you don't check in.

EDIT:  Nov 12th ~  I weighed in today at 173!!!!!  Hope that goes back down real quick!  GEEZE!!!!  Hoping it's water weight  :(   I'll weigh again in a few days to see if its gone down.  Not to worry though, I'm use to the ups and downs by now.

Hiya!

I *want* to be in the 160's club, does that count?

I weighed in at 172.6 the other day, a relief after being stagnant at 175 for about 2 weeks... finally starting to drop again.  I'm hoping that I can sneak into 169's by next week when I go to visit some friends in Florida.

Anyway, I'm 5' 173.2 lb's today.. I was 194 lb's when I got engaged in Feb..

I'm getting married in July, and I was planning to go shopping for 'THE' dress at the end of this month. eek!

Can I be a "hopeful club member"?

aeao ~  Sure!  Heck, I'm in the 70's now anyways! lol

Today I walked 2.5 hrs and burned 1030 calories according to my Heart Rate Monitor. Tomorrow I'll do my dvd to switch it up.

Hope ya'all have a nice weekend!  :)

EDIT  11-8  ~  Decided to take a walk, same route as yesterday.  It took 2 hrs today.  It's so cold out I walked super fast.  So I probably didn't burn as many calories today.  I didn't wear the HRM today so I don't exactly how many I burned.  Now I'm trying to get warm and drinking hot tea.  I should've just did the dvd as I planned.  oh well....

aeao ~  Woo hoo!!!!!  :D   Do you weigh yourself everyday?  I do.  For the most part.  I'm use to the ups and downs of the scale after a year! lol

Momof2funykds,

Yep, I sure do.  I didn't before, but then I read a thread on this board that said weighing every day was really helpful.. and I really think it is.

Before when I was dieting I didn't realize that when you lose weight, it goes in a jagged up-down-up-down-down-up-down pattern.  Which, I mean, makes sense.. our bodies are always fluxating with the amount of water we have in our system (or..well...poo.  Did I just say poo?).  Or when it's that time of the month, things get screwy because we hold water too.

So, I've been weighing every morning for the past couple months.  I really like it.  I feel like I'm much more in control.  I weigh first thing in the morning and over time I've noticed a trend.  If I cheat the day before with my diet, It usually goes up.. (my scale is electronic, so it reads 1/5lb too (172.2, .4, .6).  If I only cheat a little bit (like yesterday), I tend to stay stagnant.  If I'm good, I usually go down.  It's kind of like a check/balance. And if I go up on a day I've been good, I can blame the zig-zag pattern that usually goes on and not get discouraged.

Today I'm at 172.2 still.  But...I raided a handful of my roomates mini-marshmellows at 2 am, and I had full-blown-carb chips with yesterday's lunch because I was too lazy to make cheese-chips.  So, I'm not too surprized.  At least I didn't go up, so I'm thankful.

In a way I feel like I'm losing weight very slowly.  It's always three steps forward, two steps back.  When I was at 195 my roomate was at 185.  I've been working hard to lose weight.. dragging myself to Curves after work, doing DDR (dance dance revolution) with my fiance as a workout, and trying to eliminate carbs at dinnertime.  Still, it's been slow.  Now I'm at 172 after 7 mos (woohoo!), and my roomate.. who hasn't changed any diet, or done any vigorous exercise routine, is at 169.  Why can't I lose weight without trying too?  *wah!*  lol

Anyhoo, going to try to be good today, and see where that gets me tomorrow!

Weighing everyday can be helpful and hurtful, depending on the person. Some people can't take seeing nubers going up and down all the time.

It's really cold here today!  I just layed on the couch, drank hot tea and watched tv.  I did run to the store real quick for a few things I needed for dinner.  But when I got home and finished cooking, back on the couch I went! lol

Looks like winter is coming!  It's going to be x-mas soon!  I don't even want to think about it yet!  Does everyone celebrate x-mas here?  I don't want to offend anyone.

My scale weighs the same as yours, aeao.  Even though, most of time I pay no attention to the .whatever it is.  lol   How was your weigh in?

Of course I celebrate x-mas! I've been trying to get some shopping done early, but not as much as I want to. Traffic is horrid here after black-friday, and I get pretty peeved waiting in long holiday lines to check-out. Worse, I wanted to be shopping for "the" dress in December, which will eat up some of my holiday shopping weekends. (note to self, get on the ball).

Well, I'm 172 today, for the second day. No loss, no gain. I blame the fact that I cheated just a tinsy-bit last night. I try to eat a healthy low-carb-south-beachish dinner.. which I did. But my roomate had her sister over for her 21st, and so I took a shot of vodka with them in her honor. Those calories probably didn't help me much. :P

I dread starting to shop after Thanksgiving.  I can't stand in those lines with the way my back is. I can't stand in one place for long. I'll have to drag my daughter with me so she can stand in line while I go sit down! lol

At least there's no gain on the scale. :)  I lost .5, but tomorrow is the day that counts for me. So hopefully I'll be down some more and not back up again. I doubt that one shot hurt you. Just sometimes the number doesn't reflect our good efforts.
