I dunno how much I'll contribute here but didn't think it'd hurt to add in an entry :).
Hi omgseriously,
I work in SE on M street and I have to say I do not eat locally for lunch because I don't see many healthy choices. Consequently, I eat the cafeteria salad bar
alot and add salmon or tuna to it to try to keep the calories down and the vegie and protein up.
Unfortunately I am getting a slow start having only lost one pound in 3 weeks but I keep on counting, striving to stay within 1500c/day.
age 48
start date 21 July
start weight 176
current weight 175
goal weight 135
timeframe 1year
Thanks for your post. i am hear if you want support or to chat.
best, cat
I live east of the river so a lot of hair salons and A LOT of carryouts ..... the healthiest thing close to me is the 2 subway restaurants near but then there's 2 Jamaican eateries, pizza hut, mickey d's, etc. It's ridiculous. You're at least starting off at a better weight. Even your starter weight of 176 is wow like 58 pounds away from me 0_o ... thanks for the reply and the offering of support ... same here. One more thing I know it'd be a lot healthier but I really hate seafood. I'm giving myself about 14 months AT MOST to lose the 80 pounds I want to get rid of.
OMG,
Oh yes "the drive - by" lol. Gotta put those blinders on when we go by the carry=outs!. Just tuesday I saw a sign for 2 for 1 Tuesday at Dominos: 2 large pizzas at the price of 1. I actually thought about it for dinner with my boyfriend and I said, "who am i kidding! - no way I can only eat 2 pieces and leave the leftovevers with him!" lol!!!!!!!!!!!
I eat out alot so I have been hitting chicken Out and ruby tuesday (salad bar) lately.
skipped the dreaded aerobics swim class last night
need to start swimming laps on my own but Ohh the hair !
back at ya later. work is sloooooow

Swimming and hair hmm,m that's a no no for me especially since I just got my every 2 months quick hair relaxer and just got it done lol and uh I put on 2 lol shower caps when I take a shower .....if I do get in a pool it's no more than up to the shoulders and i'm wearing a serious and tight swim cap lol. My mother bought me a frozen pizza Digornio (sp?) 2 days ago and for 2 days i've been staring it down. I dunno if I should eat it or not and it's medium sized and i'm like you I can't eat just a little bit of PIZZA anyways and not want more. I think i'd try an aerobics class....minus the water (swimming).
I'm sure that pizza is long gone by now, but I have a trick for the next one. Cut it in half before you put it in the oven and only bake one of the pieces.
Btw, I'm also east of the river. I have to catch a bus home and my favorite carryout is right there at the bus stop as I step off. Depending on my mood, I've found there's two ways to stop myself from getting that steak & cheese with fries. On a good day, I get off the bus a little further away and walk the rest of the way home, taking a turn earlier than the bus to avoid even smelling the carryout. The only other way I've "tricked" myself out of craving it is to keep the amount of cash in my pocket limited to about $5 (my fave combo is $5.70). As far as I can tell, carryouts are the last cash-only legit businesses left.
Starting weight: 236.6 8/21/09
Current weight: 227.0 9/10/09
Goal weight: 150.0
Thanks catnipster!
I'll share yet one more of my "strategies". For every bite of other food, I have to have two bites of a veggie. I'm filling up on much healthier foods these days and I was surprised that I didn't feel like I was sacrificing, especially after the first week.
My challenge will be an upcoming trip to the Midwest. Can you say deep dish pizza loaded with pepperoni? ![]()
