Hello,am abit confused am currently making a low protein high carb diet that i can stick to,in the efforts of weight loss.

The confusion is say a certain food is high in both protein and carbohydrates, would i add both foods values to my diet.

Example a orange juice carton ha

Protein 8.8

Carbohydrate 8.9

Do i add both the protein and carbohydrates to track my weight or do i simply add the carbohydrate because it's more than the protein has to offer.

I hope someone could shed some light on this.

I wouldn't have immediately thought of orange juice as a protein source...  Anyway, have you tried entering everything you eat/drink into the CC food log and running the analysis?  If your diet is 40-65% carbohydrate, 15-25% protein and 25-30% fats it's in the right ballpark.  It doesn't help weight-loss especially to be more definite than that.  The total calories will determine whether or not you lose weight.

I was just using it as a example, and thanks but want i want to know is how do i find out the total calories in such foods and drinks ? since most of them don't show calorie amounts on the packets in order for idiots to buy there products.
