5'2" in 130's goal of 120

Quote  |  Reply

I already post in a few motivational forums, but the ones that are more specific to me are full.  So, I'm starting a new one...

Any other ladies about my height 5'2" in their 130's who have a goal of around 120?  I would love some extra support/community from you.

I was thinking we could post weekly stats and discuss anything else as it comes up.  Maybe we can also post our favorite low cal foods.

Starting weight 167

Current Weight 137

Goal weight is   120

I hope to lose 8-10 pounds by Dec 22 which would put me at 129-127.

One of my favorite lo cal snacks is a skinny cow fudgecicle. only 50 calories!

Hey that's me! 5'2" and probably around 132-133 (I need to weigh myself).

I'm relatively new and I started at 135, give or take a half a pound. My goal weight is 120, which was my weight a year ago (ah depressing thought!)

I don't really have any favorite low cal foods. I eat dorm food and try to keep things healthy, or at least everything in moderation. Just still trying to figure out what is best for me.

I will say my favorite workouts are in the swimming pool. I used to be on a summer rec. swim team, so I learned the basics, but by no means am I a good swimmer. Pool workouts work my entire body and are good for cardio and strength. I recommend them to anyone, only if you know one stroke or just do kickboard!

I really want suggestions from other people as far as good foods and workouts!

Thanks for posting!

It's nice to meet someone with about the same goal and same amount to lose.

Dorm food is tough, although I actually stayed pretty thin while I lived in the dorms because of the regular eating schedule.

Awesome workout ideas.  I love swimming, but don't have access to a pool.  I try to do a little yoga everyday.

If you're looking for good protein foods, I like: cottage cheese, soymilk, peas, chicken and fish, and other soy products.  Egg beaters are good too.  All of those have a good protein level for the amount of calories in them.

I'm with you!  I'm 5' 2" weighing in at 138.8 currently.  I would love to lose about 8 pounds by Christmas...but I'm not a frequent poster, so I don't know how much I'll be around this thread.  Let me know what day you want to do your weekly weigh-ins!

Whatever day is best for you.  I think I might do Mondays, but any day is fine.

Can I join you guys? I'm 5'2, no longer in the 130s, but I started at about 151 so I've definitely been there! Right now I'm at 122, with a final goal weight of 118. I've been battling these last five-seven pounds since about May! Mostly I've been looking for people with around the same goal as me...it seems like a lot of people our height are striving for 100-105, which is completely unrealistic for me.

I've had a number of small backslides...this is my third dip to 122 and the two previous times I backslid to 125ish...this time I want to power through and reach goal weight for Christmas time!

Great, thanks for joining!  Yeah, I have a pretty small frame, but 100-105 just seems too small for me.  My goal is 120, and when I get there I will think about going down to 110-115.  I think 110 is the lowest I would consider though.

After being in the 150's for so long, it must feel great to be in the 120's.  I really can't even imagine it.  I was so happy to see 136.5 this morning!  This is the lightest I have ever been in my adult life, so I can't even imagine how it will feel to finally "get there."

So it looks like you just need to release four pounds before Christmas, which is six weeks away?  You should definitely be able to make it.  Do you have a plan to make it?

I started at 167 and it seems like ever since I hit 140 the weight has gotten harder to lose.  Do you have any tips?  What did you do when that happened to you?

I've been battling these last four pounds FOREVER, it seems! :-P But I'm hoping once and for all to knock them out! I'm going to really try to get back into the gym this week on the days that I don't have work. I work as a server at a restaurant, so that counts as my 'workout' for the day! However, the days I have off I've been bumming around. I have work tomorrow, and then Thursday and Friday I'm going to hit up the gym.

I hit a huge plateau around December last year, at about 135. I finally broke it in February by switching up my exercise routine. I used to do the elliptical five days a week, and then I switched to jogging on the treadmill, and that was enough to shake it up! Unfortunately the weight does get a lot harder...I went from 151 to 135 from beginning of September to end of December last year, and then it's taken me since then (with a few maintenence periods and backslides) to get down to 122. I just like food too much! I could never eat just 1200 a day! :-D

I'm always confused about my frame size. Or maybe my weight has just been dropping really unevenly. I *think* I'm a medium frame...my fingers overlap on my wrist but I have pretty long fingers. Plus, at the weight I'm at now, my hip bones are pretty prominent. Then again, I still have a big butt!

How many calories do you usually eat a day/what's your exercise like? Oh, and how do you think you're gonna beat the holiday munchies? I'm already apprehensive--I love sweets!

Hey, sorry it took me so long to get back here; its been crazy.  So I didn't lose any weight last week.  I studk to my calories pretty well, so I definitely think I am hitting a plateau.  While I re evaluate things, I have switched to maintenance calories, so I am not gaining right now either.

I also need to figure out an excersize plan too.  I usually do a 1/2 hr of yoga per day, so I think I am going to do more arobic/cardio.

I'm almost afraid to say my cal intake becausesome people on these boards get militant about what is okay and what isn't.  I was diagnosed with something last year, so my doctor put me on an 800 calorie diet per day six days a week and 1450 calories one day per week.  It has worked really well for me so far, and I am able to get all the nutrients I need.  I have more energy than I have ever had before.  I won't see my doctor again until December, so I want to talk to her about anythign I can do to get this plateu gone.  I really think the key is more excersize though.

How are you all doing?

Hi.. I am brand new to this site and looking for friends. I am 5'3" and weighed in at my doctor today at 135....down 41 pounds since last year and want to lose another 8-10 pounds...If I can get to 129 I will be ecstatic...I am power walking and lifting light weights...last night I did 51 pushups before falling out...a first for me! I was so excited....My goal was 50 by my 50th and my 50th is still 3 weeks away!

I would love any ideas on creative and different exercise routines...and also on how to get rid of this last 10!

Weekly weigh ins would be great and Mondays are good for me too. Looking forward to chatting with all of you!

And also, do any of you know how I add friends? I cannot seem to figure it out...Laughing

wow 51 pushups?  Im lucky to do 10-15.  do you do regular or girl push ups?

I think if you just click on the persons profile, there is a place where you can add them as a friend.

I do girl pushups, but no breaks... last night I did 53... I think I will try adding 1-2 a week and see if I can get to 100...and maybe I will try regular push ups and see how I do as I get stronger...

thanks for the advice on adding friends...will check in Monday with a weigh in

cool.  See you ladies on Monday!
