Bummer...can't work out like usual this morning...have to drop off a car at the shop with my husband and then have committments at my son's schools...

I hate getting off my routine...glad we have an elliptical...going to have to get on it tonight after the boy's hockey.

Goal today is to stick with 1200-1300 calories in case the workout doesn't happen....

Of course I woke up starving...going for the protien bar or the oatmeal...can't decide.

Thanks ltlmsmfft :)   when i plateau, it seems the best thing i can do is increase my calories for a couple days, then go back to watching them, or even increasing your exercise regiment, or changing it up will help also.. :)  hope that helps :)
hey, a little jump start cuz my last weigh-in was 160
but it was been for a while, and it was tonight, and since im always more at night, im hoping that tomorrow morning i will be deserving to be in this club =]

welcome to the 150's essentials.. :)  hopefully we will see you in the morning too :)  I just joined the "150's club" myself, i am at 158.5 lbs as of this morning :)  also just recently joined CC.. lol.. 

I am having such a hard time with eating the amount of calories CC says i SHOULD be eating...  the night i started i entered what i had eaten that day and it was only like 850 cal...  so yesterday and today I have acheived around 1400 cal...  but i keep thinking oh no, i am eating too much, ya know?? but i am going to keep trying...   BUT I DID manage to drink 6 - 16 oz glasses of water today :) yay me..  along with doing one hour of DDR and 30 minutes of walking :)  hoping i still see a loss in the morning.. I have SUCH a hard time staying away from the scale, lol.. i could never go a week without weighing myself.. lol..
Yay!  I stuck to my exercise routine I mapped out yesterday.  20 min of pilates on mon, 10 min this morning before work.  I feel great but, the scale hasn't moved!  I'm going to weigh myself at the gym today.  My scale is doing some funny stuff and I may need a new one.  I didn't eat anything after 6:15 last night and went to sleep around 11:30 so I had plenty of time to digest my low fat food.  Oh and I didn't drink any alchohol last night!!!!!!  I think I'm going to start to try a bit of the reverse diet thing.  I'm going to eat my dinners for lunch and breakfast for dinner.  I'll let ya all know how this works for me. 

Anyone....How much water should I be drinking per day oz. per glass?
shoot finally got on the scale this am...up 2. i hate that...hoping it's tom and next week will be fabulous.

Goal today....

1. 1400 or less

2. nothing after 8:30pm

3. water, water, water.

4. cut the carbs today...except for a little pasta at dinner...be really good until then...no snacking except on fruit or cottage cheese.

5. save the sugar until a little after dinner.

I can totally do this...it's only food right.  Already put in an hour of exercise...maybe i'll even jump on the elliptical tonight, now that would be a miracle.
poohct- just a tip it's best to eat the sugar (if you must and i must) earlier in the day.  that gives your body more time to burn it all off!

how much water do you drink?  i think I only drink about 32 oz per day and an 8 0z cup of tea  and 12 0z soda. pretty bad huh?
Doesn't it just amaze you how it only takes about a week to put on 5+ lbs of holiday weight, and then another 2-3 stinkin weeks to get it back off??? ltlmsmfft--I read your user id as "little miss muffet"--am I right? And I thought we needed to drink 8-8oz glasses of water per day. I don't come close either unless you count the pot of coffee I down each day--lol!

I got on my bike this morning and rode for 15 minutes!! yay! I didn't ride longer because my ipod was dead and it is soooo boring unless I have music!

keep my cals at 1800--I am hovering at 1500--not good for me cus my body hangs on to everything if I go below this.

Get on my bike and ride some more! And get the weights out and work my buns!

morning all.... i think my scale is wrong...  my weight this morning was 157.5  thats down a whole pound from yesterday??  cant be right.... you would think i would of retained some of that water yesterday since i am not use to drinking so much... managed to consume 96 oz??  6/16 oz cups?   ahh well.. my goal for today is to complete my Billy Blanks Basic Training Boot Camp.. and water water water....

Pooh - ltlmsmfft is right, you should do the sugar earlier in the day to allow your body time to burn it off..

ltlmsmfft - you should be drinking half your body weight in water...  ex. i weigh 157.5  so divide that by two and i should be drinking 78.75 (78 oz).... to help you lose weight...  8- 8 oz glasses is fine when you are maintaining...

I have been doing some dumb things this weekend and yesterday - eating junk food (chocolate, a donut, pizza) and snacking late at night in front of the TV.  My boyfriend is quitting smoking so has bought all sorts of goodies into the house. Its so hard to resist temptation when its in arm's reach!

Last night I ate perfect at work - lots of veggies and fruit, low fat snack, lots of water.  As soon as I got home, I had pizza and later that night I had some chocolate, then some crispy mini rice cakes even though I WASNT HUNGRY! I wasnt bored, I just needed to unwind and relax in front of the TV so I reached for a snack.  

I thought I was past all this - For months I didnt slip up once and have junk food.  Sigh.... Anyway I was 150 before the weekend and now am up to 151.4 again.  I really want to reach my goal of 145, but some days I wonder if I really want this becuase it sure doesnt seem so based on my actions...

I am going to drink lots of water today, try to eat a healthy dinner and not snack, and do my cardio and weight routine.  I need help - its so hard to not snack at night!  :(
thanks unicat!  I can defiently drink 1/2 my body weight in ounces a day.  I actually like water.  I think I'm going to add an afternoon snack of raw green beans and balsamic vinegar to get more veggis in and help to decrease the sodium in my system.  A trainer on here told me that the 1tbs of the balsamic is a great natural alternative to water pills....
yw  ltlmsmfft :) i dont like water much, although i do occassionally like just a nice ice cold glass of it :)  its funny how when you are trying to MAKE yourself drink more, its when you want it the least, right??   i am horrible about getting those veggies in.. dont eat much of them at all..  fruit neither...  one of these days i will be able to get em in...

hchiddenton - yeah its hard with all those tempting items in the house.. my husband loves sweets, and very seldom cares about his weight, unless he has to pass his PRT..  I try to make the most of him being out to sea, its the best time for me to diet, and i am trying to make better habits too... but i also allow myself a sweet occassionally so i dont feel deprived and so i dont have that urge to just binge on everything sweeet i can find... like yesterday, i allowed myself half a three musketeer bar :) yum :)  and try some healthier snacks like fruits (yea i am one to talk , haha) or 100 calorie packs from nabisco, or ff chocolate pudding??  or jello?? and i dont eat anything for 3 hours before i go to bed.. unless i feel really snacky, then i will grab one of the above, or even a 90cal chewy granola bar from quaker :)

what do you all do for that after dinner treat?  I really need to find something that cures that sweet craving. if only i could just eat a few m and ms and be done, but no....

water i am terrible with that's why it's always my goal.  though i drink decaf coffee in the am, just one caffeinated tea around 2:30 or so. 

one bottle of water down....  I like the idea of filling the bottles and then you'll know when you're done.  that was good thanks.
pooh.. this is an example of my day.. i dont know when you get up or if you work or what.. i am a sahm... 

i get up at 6 am...eat breakfast...(kellogs frosted mini wheats and skim milk, i also drink a lo carb monster cos its the only way i have energy to get moving lol.. and i dont do coffee) get the kids off...  around 7 am i do one hour of exercise, be it tae bo, or ddr... (i always wait about an hour after i eat before i exercise)... shower... then i do my housework that i didnt get done while waiting for the hour to be up.. around 11 am i eat lunch.. usually something like a lean pocket...  get my daughter from school around 2 usually..  and then we have a snack.. it can be any of those things i mentioned that i snack on..  yesterday obviously was  a 1/2 3 musketeer bar...   then at 5 pm, we eat dinner..  lately its been chicken on a 2 slices of bread with a little mayo and mustard and less then 1/4 c shredded cheese...  IF i feel i must snack after that, i will usually do it before 7 pm.. then nothing else but water... (i also drink lipton diet lemon tea during the day)...  so thats a sample of MY eating habits.. (am also trying to drink my required amount of water each day..)  of course this wont work for everyone, it just seems to work for me..

on the topic of water - i said... "8- 8 oz glasses is fine when you are maintaining..."..  that is UNLESS you are still exercising... then i think you are suppose to add one 8 oz glass of water per 1/2 hr of exercise?? dont quote me though..
Someone please help me.  I haven't worked out since last Thursday... I really need some motivation :(
well vanel here's the best motivation i have (and it's mine right now).  I didin't exercise from Thurs to Sun and guess what.....I didin't loose any weight!!!!!!!!!!  I know how quickly I loose weight when I'm doing EVERYTHING right and it's like if I am missing just one piece of the puzzle forget it!  Now here I am one week later, at the same weight as last week :(  When I think of how I could have dropped a pant size I'm ready to run to the gym.  On Monday at lunch I made an exercise schedule for this week for an aggresive 420 minutes over 7 days.  I started yesterday after work and am staying strong.  Make your own plan and post it somewhere where you will have to face it each day (like the bathroom mirror).  When you feel like whimping out think about  how you will feel in one week with no change in weight or even *gasp* weight gain (not due to added muscle).
i agree with ltlmsmfft...  my personal motivation (because there are a lot of days where i say OH HECK NO I AM NOT EXERCISING TODAY!)..is that i have worked SOOO HARD to get where i am today, and I know i dont want to go back to where i was months ago...i KNOW how much BETTER I feel once i DO exercise.. so i just force myself to do it..  i looked at your profile, and you have a lot of things within your reach that you can do to get some daily exercise in.. and the note on the mirror in the bathroom is an awesome idea...  they say that something like 85% of all people who make new years resolutions to lose weight (etc.) QUIT by mid january, and that if they did the note on the mirror (or someplace you will see it on a daily basis) they would be more motivated to just do it :)  good luck.. i think if you FORCE yourself to get into a routine of doing it you will feel MUCH better :)
okay i have a question?? has anyone here taken any measurements??  i have a hard time figuring out WHERE to measure my hips and where to measure my waistline...  where i can feel the top of my hip bones basically lines up with my belly button... do i measure there?? or a little lower??  and where do i measure my waist?? the biggest part of my stomache?? or the indented part thats below my ribcage and above my hip bones??  (dont worry they arent sticking out, but i can push in and feel them)..  little help please??? thanks :)
I'm with unicat on the measurments.  I've never really done it because whenever I do, I feel like I'm not doing it right. 

MY SCALE IS OFF!!!!  My son's father questioned the validity of the home scale last week and at first I thought there was nothing wrong with it until......it went from consistently measuring my body fat at 38% to a consistent 65% (we all know that's not possible overnight).  So we tested it against the grocerystore scale and gym scale and found it to be off by 2lbs!  I thought it was strange for me not to loose any weight over 1 week.  So it was a low weight loss week for me but, I am down 2 lbs.  I also thought it was strange that my jeans and work pants felt looser in the legs, hips and but.  Well the mystery is solved!  I did my 60 min gliding class last night and feel great.
Its funny that you guys mention measurements... I took some when I started in Jan 2006, and again in April 2006.  Yesterday after work I figured I better do them again and record them.  Its AMAZING to see the results...  I put a note in my journal if you want to check it out. 

As for WHERE to do it, I am sure there are lots of people who can tell you the 'proper' way to do it.  For me, I just made sure to try and use the same locations each time.  I measure my bust and hips at the widest part.  For my waist, I do two (one above the belly button at the narrowest part, and one just at my belly button) but I only record the BB one since that is where my pants usually fit.  I may not be 100% accurate, but I know that I am generaly going for the same locations each time.

I think the main thing is to be consistent with what you do.  For example, I weigh myself in the morning just as I am heading out the door... I know, its not 100% accurate , BUT I figure as long as I do the same thing each day, its good enough for me.

As for my morning weigh in - 148.0!!!  I am happy, but not convinced that this # will stay.  One thing I did different yesterday is drink ALL my water (over 2L since I worked out), and avoided bad snacks late at night (helped that I was not home in the evening.) 
WOW!  Hchiddenton- I checked out your journal and that's pretty amazing!  I think i'm going to hunt down my tape today and take my measurements in the same spots you did.  I never thought about taking neck measurements but, I know my has gotten fatter with the extra lbs!
