Bummer...can't work out like usual this morning...have to drop off a car at the shop with my husband and then have committments at my son's schools...

I hate getting off my routine...glad we have an elliptical...going to have to get on it tonight after the boy's hockey.

Goal today is to stick with 1200-1300 calories in case the workout doesn't happen....

Of course I woke up starving...going for the protien bar or the oatmeal...can't decide.

YAY!!!!!! Ok so it isn't an official weigh in ( i do mine on Modays) but according to my scale at home I am down to 148! I guess we will have to wait until Monday to see if I stay with you guys are move down!!!
Well I hate to be a downer, but Hey... I  feel down! I am up to 155 after finally losing a little and getting to 153.5. It is TTOTM and I am hoping that is the bulk of my problem! I am planning on a nice big walk tonight, and after my shift today at work, I have 6 days off!!! A mini vacation! It will be so much easier to workout and eat right! I am hoping to REALLY get going again! Working towards 150 by the end of April!
carie87 im sure thats what the problem is, dont be to hard on yourself it will come off, get plenty of water and make sure you log it all becasue the extras add up quick..lol it has been slow coming off myself and 150 is my goal also by end of april or lower if it works out that way..: )  for some reason im thinking of dori in nemo just keep swimming just keep swimming..lol thats us.. just keep going just keep going.. man can you tell i have a soon to be 2 year old..lol neway good luck and i hope ur mini vac is great.

I am new (Taadaa!) here    and I am really impressed with the way that everyone on this site is really positive.

I am currently weighing in at  a 155lbs. The problem I have is getting below this. I am 5 foot 6 and I want to be about 135-140.

I would like to be able to wear a bikini for the first time this summer. and keep the weight off.

I started at 175 at the end of last year. Since then I have been going to Aikido three times a week and I walk for an hour everyday.

Any suggestions would be great

We have almost the exact same stats..LOL I?m 5'5 (was 175 lbs.. current weight now 153.2) I want to get down to the same weight as you. I?m glad you found us here. This place is great and so far it?s helped me to lose almost 20 lbs!!!! I would say if you?re stuck at the same weight now for awhile I would say try zig zagging your calories or upping your calories at least 200-300. You just need to try different things. Our bodies get used to doing the same things everyday, they will adjust to it. For example a few weeks ago I was so frustrated and I was stuck at the same weight for 3 weeks and told myself I was going to give up, well that night I went out and pigged out on Pizza Hut and the next day I had lost a pound! My body just needed something different. Upping your calories does work. Good luck.. !!! Glad you found us!

Holly, thanks as always for the words of encouragement! I was pretty good today with the food. I did not end up walking...too tired after working 50 hours in 4 days!  But tomorrow I am vowing to you all to start working out again! Please help hold me accountable!!
Perfidia, we too have a similar goal and current stats. I am 5'6" and float between 153 and 155 with an ultimate goal of 135-140. My starting weight was 163 about 9 months ago. So you have made much more progress! What has been YOUR secret?

good morning everyone!  The last two mornings I've weighed in at 148.5!  However, I'm off to Orlando today for the next week, so I'll wait before I make any moves...but it looks like I'll be down to the 140's group with you all!!

Carie--you can do it!  Holding yourself accountable is definitely a good step.  Do you log your workouts like you log your food?  I personally use a written sheet (instead of logging on the web) because I can carry it with me--there's nothing more accountable than opening up a notebook and seeing what you've eaten and how much you've actually worked out in the last week (or the last six).  That's what is working for me in the accountability department anyway : )

Looks like we're all in the same boat here.  I'm 5'6" and currently 157 with a goal of 135.  I haven't been posting because I've been so frustrated with myself.  I started this thread in January and all the people I started with are down in the 140s already.  I admit, I wasn't putting my best effort in.  The last week, I have been.  I stepped up the workouts and quit cheating with the food.  I'm going to take these small steps to really achieve this.  It has been really motivating watching them step down to the 140s and I keep thinking what's wrong with me??? Why can't I?  I meet with my doctor every 2 months and we discuss my weight...he is awesome trying to help me and make me accountable.  Well last time I went in and only lost 3 lbs in 2 months..he was encouraged that there wasn't a gain, but he thought if I tried a little harder, I should've lost twice that.  He asked me if I was feeling deprived at all, and of course I wasn't because cookies were still a part of my day.  I am finding that for me, I really have to seriously cut out the sweets and alcohol (by cut out I mean not every day like I was) and change up the workout a bit. 

So for me this is a new week because I will be really frustrated if all of you move on to the 140s without me.  I am not going to let it happen.  I'm posting this in my journal to remind myself.  So anyway, I was 156.6 yesterday and i'm 157.4 today but I ran tuesday and wednesday....Everyday I do jazzercise and I'm trying to add a 2 mile run every other day.  So smack me if I don't go for a jog later. 
okay guys, i guess im the runt of the group..lol im only 5'3 on a good day im 5'6 with my heels on..lol the guys at work always ask if i have my tree trunks on when i wear my big shoes..lol because i get so tall..lol im a bookkeeper  to i sit alot of the day, but i too like you poohct need to cut out some sweets or something i have been really good but im not moving at all 154.4 still, i go to the gym 3 time a week i would go more but time just doesnt allow it, i do a latin impact class on monday night, my husband and i do weights etc on wensdays and sat i do a cardio kickboxing, then on tuesdays my girlfriend comes over and we do about an hour of good power walking, yesturday i went roller skating with the oldest, and try to stay between 1300 -1400 which is what is set for my by cc, so if you guys have any ideas on helping reach my goal better. and my food grades are usually a-b but i know my body could also be adjusting to eating better but man comon..lol  hope you guys have a great day...

okay...i'm off to a good start today if I can keep my mouth shut and my hands off the wine.  I did an hour jazzercise this morning followed by a 2 mile run.  Now I'm working out in the yard.  Going to bump up my calories a little today to compensate (with good stuff).  My calories burned is like 2450...yippee!!!

Going to make a big salad for dinner and make the family some baked ziti...which i'll eat a little bit of...Going to proactively log all that food so I don't go way over...fridays and weekends can be hard...  Tomorrow is a hockey party for my boys with pizza and beer....Might eat a big salad before I go so I don't overdo it.  Oh help me...why is there always some event every week to wreck my progress and why don't i have any self control????  I just have to try try try!
 aslice of pizza wont wreck everything. It is only like 300 calories for a slice of chees pizza/ Try to stay away from the pepperoni and sausage though! :)

The salad will be a great idea and maybe try to go for a run int he morning. That will help too! The weekends can be death but dont go in to them thinking you will fail. Work out a plan to conquer them!!
Well I am heading out this morning to walk 4 miles! Sounds like a few of us are struggleing out there! Poohct, you started this and I think we are all so greatful! You can get back on track, summer is coming! Holly, I am with ya on the sweets... you know that! Are you able to walk on your lunch break at work? That might help give you an afternoon boost?!?!?!

Having a rough week, but dispite ODing on skinny cow ice cream bars, my new love btw, lol, I've been really close to 1300 all last week.  Only exception was Thursday when I got sushi, but I was only 100 over maintence.

Two days in a row I was 149.0, then 149.4, then 149.6.

I still don't feel safe enough to move into th 140s group yet! This morning I was 150.4 =|.... darn you sodium!

Guess I'll be good this weekend and decide on Monday. =)
Nocturne, I dont blame you for wanting to be solid in the 140's before moving, but you should be really proud of yourself so far!
I am having a great day! Walked two miles this am outside, shopped (lots of walking) for about 2 hours this afternoon and at 3:20pm I am at 477 calories so far! I will try for another 2 miles this evening and am planning on salmon and a baked potato for dinner! I should throw in a veggie too! It is Saturday night so I will probably have a "treat" of some sort tonight! But I should still be able to stay around 1500 calories no problem! Hope everyones weekend is great so far!!!!!!!!!
It would be embarrassing to move over there and the next day I'm at 150 again lol.

The thing is that I've been inching my way into the 140s for 2 weeks now.  I can't seem to lose that 1-2 lbs to make sure I don't hit 150, even if I'm bloated.  I've obviously sabotaged myself a couple times.. so that didn't help, I'm silly =).

First 7lbs came off so fast, guess that's just the way it goes.  I'm still totally happy to hit 149.0 on a good day!  I still tell people I lost 8lbs, even though that means I should be in the 140s group.

I have a good feeling about Monday.

I'm thinking of walking more outside this week too, it's a pretty safe neighbourhood.
Hello.  I think this is my first post here.  I weighed in today at 155.  I dont "offically" weigh in until Wednesday though.  I'm trying get through the 150's more quickly than the 160's.  I felt like I was in there forever!  Good luck to all of us.

Good to meet you colleen! I have to reevaluate my day today! I planned on 1500, I will actually hit right around 1900, but with all my walking, I still have atleast a 300 calorie deficit! So I am okay!
Keep us posted Colleen! Any good tricks  or ideas for success?
Hi Everyone;  I cringe every time I step on the scale and this morning was no different.  I put one toe on and lightly add the rest of my naked body.  No difference, still at 155 yuck.  Went to the gym and did 1 hour of cardio and about 20 minutes of weights.  My reward was an amazing homemade gourmet burger that my husband made for me.
Why is it that when you're trying to loose weight it seems like you've been trying forever?  One week down and i feel like i've been doing this forever!!!!
My goal is 138 and when I get there.....i'm going to get a tummy tuck!  Yes, after wanting one for 20 years LOL (i had twins!) I am going to really reward myself with actually going through with it.  But I have to get down to 138 first......yuck
