Bummer...can't work out like usual this morning...have to drop off a car at the shop with my husband and then have committments at my son's schools...

I hate getting off my routine...glad we have an elliptical...going to have to get on it tonight after the boy's hockey.

Goal today is to stick with 1200-1300 calories in case the workout doesn't happen....

Of course I woke up starving...going for the protien bar or the oatmeal...can't decide.

Haven't posted in awhile, the M.A. thesis is killing me.  I had a setback after I freaked out about (what else?) the thesis and went up to 157, but today I'm back down to 154.  I'm working really hard to be out of the 150s by the end of April, the 29th to be exact, because that's when I'm throwing a bridal shower for my friend at a fancy historic home!  I've got my eye on a v. pretty Ann Taylor dress (I'd link but the website's down!) that I've promised myself I'll buy if I get into the 140s by her shower.  Just need to keep plugging away at the gym and stay away from the cupcakes and the yougart covered raisins -- my absolute favorite!

I am just now getting back to this website and posting. My dilemma is this, I have been in the 159-157 range for a while now. I have been working out alot more and have had to increase my calories because of it. So I go up and down daily between that range, from having a bad weekend/week to water retention, or not eating enough b/c of I have worked out more...honestly it's getting to be silly even dissapointing. What can I do to get down in the 155-150 range?? I work out every other day for 1-2hrs a day, eat about 1500 calories a day. Should I increase my calories? or what?
My official weigh in day was today. I guess I really am in the 150's for real, my weight 158.8 - yay!!! I'm so glad to see that five! My goal for these last 30 days (of which I have one week left) is 10 lbs, so far I'm at 7.8. So as long as I lose 2.2 this coming week, I'm set!

nuvia - personally, I'd drop your calories.  I've been eating 1200 cals since Jan 25 & have had great success each week, with only one weigh in below 2lbs & most 2+lbs a week. Just a thought.
Nuvia what does cc set your cal at on a normal day to eat and loose, if you stick with that and try to eat in protein i would say to keep your muscle strong inthe cal you work off at the gym or whatever you should see a diff may take a week or so and make sure you drink plenty of water, just make sure you dont eat less than the 1200 as your body may go into starvation mode sooner or later.. im set at about 1330 a day without working out, but i have a very sedetary job, and im sticking to that a littel under over some days but mostly right around that and its working for me, just keep up the good work and get all your water in..
Hey, firt time posting for me on this board!

I'm 20 yrs old, and just starting to really change my eating/exercise patterns. I've tried just dieting before but I always lose my motivation after a few days. I'm so proud of myself so far though. I've been working out five times a week for an hour a day in the gym, and then I ride (horses) at least one day a week for an hour (much more often when I'm home from school. The working out is really helping to motivate me to continue eating healthily, I don't want to waste all of those burned calories!! I started at around 172lbs, and I'm already down to 157! It was a great feeling to be back in the 150's!
    I've beeling trying to eat better since mid-January, but I've really only been working this hard during the past four weeks or so. My biggest motivation is that I'll be working for the first time as a camp counselor at a  sleep-away camp for nine weeks this summer.  And although I just really want to look and feel healthy, it DOES help that I will be spending the majority of my summer with tons of new people including about 30 counselors from Europe, many of them very attractive males...and I want to be HOT. sue me. Heehee... It's amazing to see the difference in my body so far, even though I haven't lost that much weight...I think it's all the working out. I've been trying to focus on arms and abs, cuz by legs are already very muscular, from riding. As I feel my "six-pack" start to firm up, I really want to get rid of the fat on top of it. I LOVE knowing that as I lose weight I won't just be skinnym but I'll be fit.

Sorry for the too-long post, I just want to say hi and I hope you all can help me stay motivated, and of course I hope to help all of you too!

Okay, so BLEW the sodium for the day! 3500mg. Big opps!!! But I will have in over 100 oz's of water! I had Qdoba for dinner. 1/2 a chicken burrito, lite cheese, so sour cream, no rice. I counted the 1/2 at 400 calories, maybe a bit excesive, but better safe than sorry. It put me just over 1400 calories for the day! Not bad, and I am off to walk 3-4 miles!

Welcome Jenn! I'm in college too! :) I was exactly the same as you when I first started--- in the 170's... it feels great to get some weight off. This forum is a lot of fun.... some really nice people. I just joined it last week!

Carie- it stinks because I am SUPPOSED to have 5 extra GRAMS of sodium a day and I take sodium pills. Want to talk about water retention? It's awful.... and I don't even like salt.

Haven't been working out yet this week because I pulled an all nighter yesterday and will be pulling another one tonight, so that's no good, but I am being careful to keep my overnight snacking to a minimum if I can- even with all the snacks I munched on to keep me awake last night I was  still 400 cals under maintenance. :)

I think I'll make it into the 140's with you guys by end of April- I only have 2.5 lbs to go!

Jenn -- I totall feel you on the whole wanting to look hot thing!  I'm moving to Dallas this summer after I graduate and I want to be at 140 when I start dating in a new city!  Anyway, welcome, and I'm totally jealous that you get to ride horses -- do you ride English or Western?  
What is happening everyone?!?!?!?! I just finished eating a frozen banana....I love those things! Just freezing it makes me think I am eating icecream...

Anyways, I did pilates today and I feel so stretched and relaxed. I bought new handweights to go with the video....so I suspect that my arms will be sore tomorrow.

hey. I just saw this discussion. Hope no one minds that I'm joining. I weighed in at 152 today (but I was 150 two days ago!). Anyways, I really want to go down to mid 140s by end of April so hopefully....anyways, just wanted to put in my first post and what does TOTTM stand for?
I don't know if anyone replied to acaruthers yet, but I'm taking a multi-vitamin. It's called equaline and it has calcium, iron, and zinc. I'm hoping it'll make up for all the meals I miss.
Thanks Blink.  I was just wondering if taking one was making a difference for anyone.  I am at 152 also any trying to get down to 130.  Good luck and welcome.

doing good today just got to work, went and didn my 30 min at hte gym this morning.. i havent lost and is a couple days im still  151.6 but well on my way to getting in the 140 by end of april woohoo
being silly.. but oh to be 20 again and single..lol thoses were fun times...hehehe

good morning all...sounds like everyone is doing well.

I am down to 154.4 this morning....yippee!!!  Hope it doesn't all go out the window tonight...having dinner w/hubby's boss and his wife at the yummy italian restaurant.  Oh help me not to overindulge.  Happy to say my size 10 levis are fitting awesome right out of the dryer.  did 30 minutes on the elliptical and am focusing on high protein, good carbs and WATER before dinner tonight because I know I'll be eating pasta.  My plan is to split the yummy spinach salad w/my husband and order the pasta w/creamy tomato sauce and sundried tomatoes...It's decadent and yummy.  We usually share both the salad and pasta and still take pasta home...so I will just eat about 1/4 of the pasta and politely take the bread but not eat too much.  This is the thing w/the boss dinners...you have to appear like you're not a total diet freak and you're not a total pig.  Balance.

Sounds like everyone is pretty much on track this week!

I'm 149.6, still in the 140s dispite eating 100 calories over maintenance yesterday, even with going on the elliptical.  Yowza.

But I totally enjoyed it, I went to my favorite sushi place and then right next door to my favorite coffee place.   Then I made mandarin chicken for my family,  soooo good, I think I had 3 servings of rice with it XD  Oh well!

Keep working hard everyone!
Okay, 154 today! Close to the 153.5 I was down to and as I mentioned I am pre ttotm! (That time of the month for the poster who asked. :)) So not bad! I will be just over 1300 calories today if I can keep from bingeing like yesterday! Doing well with water too! I am at 1/2 my goal for the day and it is noon!

stormsrun - Welcome & congrats on your loss! I'm just new to the 150s also! & I also ride. I have a 5 yr old paint mare. Actualy I just took her to have her teeth floated, so I'll have a pretty happy horse now!! I ride western & pretty much am just a "ditch rider". I want to just do some fun gymkhana events but jsut for fun. Riding is a great workout. Do you ride english or western?
sounds like summer camp counselling is a great motivator to get into the best shape you can. Is it a riding camp?


carie87 - ya my sodiums gonna be a bit high today too, had to eat at Subway. Not bad for cals but a killer with sodium.

prettybowen - frozen bananas hey? i'll have to try that. So just put them in the freezer peel & all or what? Dont' they go all brown in the freezer, do tell!

blink - looks like you won't be part of this club long, being so close to the 140s. you'll have to follow the group that'll be leaving at the end of the month to the 140s club. Welcome. Oh and ttotm is "that time of the month" some people also call it tom or ttom.

poohct - isn't it a great feeling when you can grab jeans outta the dryer & they fit so nice. Then they get all loose after an hour or so? Have a great meal, sounds like it'll fit into your diet just fine!

dee: I take the peel off then wrap it in saran wrap then stick that in a baggie with other frozen fruits like blackberries and strawberries. Sometimes I like 1 tbsp of the lite hershey's chocolate syrup with it! WOOHOO!!

I went to the tanning bed today....TOTALLY BURNT! I only went 8 minutes! I look all striped and silly....OH snap....

I was really bad with sodium today, I am hoping I made up for it with the H2O!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyways, I gotta go watch American Idol...Go Blake Lewis!!
hey, can someone talk more about sodium? it's mentioned a lot on the board but I don't really understand. what foods is it in and do I need it?
