150's group...daily updates
Bummer...can't work out like usual this morning...have to drop off a car at the shop with my husband and then have committments at my son's schools...
I hate getting off my routine...glad we have an elliptical...going to have to get on it tonight after the boy's hockey.
Goal today is to stick with 1200-1300 calories in case the workout doesn't happen....
Of course I woke up starving...going for the protien bar or the oatmeal...can't decide.
Good morning and have a great day all!

For my protein I eat lots of chicken, also oatmeal is pretty good to
add some at breakfast. I usually end up with between 25% and 35%
protein but I look at the analysis often to make sure I'm on track and
have been known to add a protein bar if I need it.
Too bad you don't do fish, waterphoenix. A can of tuna bumps your protein right up there. Although you have to limit that to 2 per week cus of the mercury.
Oatmeal! Now that is a change I can do... I didnt think of that as a high source of protein but it will work for me. Must go to the store... Do you just get the instant store brand kind - not like a Quaker oats sugar type one, right?
As for dinner out tonight, we probably will go to a little local restaruant in town that we used to go to - its a fancy diner and CHEESECAKE place.... sigh. Talk about temptation - they have the best desserts ever! I dont think I can handle that so I might suggest another place. Or maybe just cancel, I am still down in the dumps so dont really want to go anywhere.

Heather- You should pick the place!!!! Look at some of your fav places to eat on the net and check out their nutrition info! Carabba's has a really great salmon, Ruby Tuesdays has Low Fat options, Applebee's has LF foods and LF DESERTS!!!!!! You could go Italian and have pasta with marinara sauce...... Mexican- Chicken tacos (no cheese and bring your own ff sour cream), Chineese- Chicken and Brocoli w/ white rice, Amercian- Grilled Chicken, Baked Potatoe (bring ff parkay butter spray) and steamed veggies, Salads- Grilled chicken w/ lf or ff dressing. Order Jello for dessert if they have it.... Or a bowl of Fresh Fruit with whip cream!
lol.. i have some instant oatmeal in the cupboard, wonder if that will work...
and heather, ltlmsmfft is right, you should choose the place, and then make the right food choices :) you can do it :) (i know i am one to talk.. we almost always go to an italian restaurant cos i love Chicken Parmegan :) and i always get it.. but you can do like i do, have them bring a go container immediately and put half in it, and dispose of it later)... then eat the food on your plate..
okay so the scale said 156 this morning, and i am not gonna argue with it anymore, not gonna jump off and on it til it says something more.. i will just accept it :) and if tomorrow it says more, then so be it..
going grocery shopping this morning, gonna get some salad stuff cos i know i am not getting enough veggies... hope everyone is having a great day.. :)

mmmm, todays lunch is really good. i'm having a leancusine herb roaster chicken in a creamy herb sauce with roasted potoatoes and veggies. 180 cal, 3.5 grams of fat!
Waterwaterwater
my new mantra.
Do any of you supplement nuts in your diet? I eat .25 cup of almonds everyday, and I split it into 3 snacks. Nuts have tons of good stuff in them and a small amount keeps you (amazingly) satisfied for a good stretch. Try them out--but don't sub peanut butter because it usually has added hydrogenated oils.

interesting tidbit from an email i got from The Biggest Loser..
"Stay hydrated with lots of water to keep your body burning fat. If you hit a plateau, it may be because you're dehydrated."

yeah a night out is hard, but you can do it... put in some more exercise if you think you are going to be eating more calories than normal :)

My dinner out didnt end up NOT happening which was good for the diet, but bad for everything else. Boyfriend came to pick me up after Pilates and got mad with me because I didnt know where I wanted to go for dinner. Instead of having a night out, he decided we should just go home. He proceeded to order a bucket of KFC while I ate my home made veggies, brown rice and meat. Sigh... wrong in so many ways.
Mini bit of good news - I weighed myself at the gym with the old fashioned doctor type slide scale. It has always shown me as a bit lower than my home scale, so I really do it more for 'fun' than for recording anything. Anyway today when I got on, I moved the big slider to 150 but I had to move it back to 100 then move the little slider over!! Maybe I really am 148 after all! A girl can hope. ;)
I hope everyone does well with their goals this weekend and sees a loss on Monday. My goals are to avoid goodies (going to a party tomorrow - 10 year old birthday), drink water and do cardio on Sat & Sun.

Yay on the gym scale :) i bet you are at 148 :) and definitely avoid the goodies at the bday party, but dont deprive yourself too much.

in fact, only the last two days where i have tried to up my protein levels have my sodium levels been up.. the other days they were more aroun 2000 mg a day.. ugh
Hey all!
My sodium for the week is over 2600mg--but if I look at the month it is around 2000. Strange, but I don't eat a lot of processed foods--that is usually where it sneaks in. I need to drink more water waterwaterwater because I am just bad about it. Gimme a coffee instead! :)
Good luck with the will power this weekend all! I know I'm gonna need it

I was up early this morning, and got in my cardio work out, and drank lots of water. Day is off to a good start.
I hate KFC so for me that was easy to resist. I never liked it, or McDonalds or other 'fast food' places. BUT I love pizza so that is an entire different story!
My sodium for the month (I think its an average) is at 2,178 mg. I find if I have a turkey sandwich with meat from a deli, when I enter in the nutrional values, the sodium goes WAY up... its all the processed foods I guess. I love salt but have cut it out of a lot of things I cook, and replaced it with fresh black pepper.
Just found out tomorrow is ANOTHER birthday party, for my Step Dad. They are making lasagna (mmm its so good!) and cake of course. I asked my mom if she could do a salad and some green beans or something, and she will. Its nice that my family understands and wants to create some alternatives for me.

Hey Dee good luck this weekend on drinking MORE water :)
Heather what a great start to your day :) and wow another bday party, lol.. i had a month where it seemed like every week i was going to one.. ugh.. and lasagna... yum... ( i like a lot of foods lol.. if you couldnt tell)... but yay about your supportive family members :) my husband is way supportive, he lets me make the decision as to wether i will mess up my diet or not (when hes here that is) so if we go out to eat, i choose where and he tries to get me to base that decision on what the food will do to me, lol..
