Quote  |  Reply
Bummer...can't work out like usual this morning...have to drop off a car at the shop with my husband and then have committments at my son's schools...

I hate getting off my routine...glad we have an elliptical...going to have to get on it tonight after the boy's hockey.

Goal today is to stick with 1200-1300 calories in case the workout doesn't happen....

Of course I woke up starving...going for the protien bar or the oatmeal...can't decide.

Good morning and have a great day all!

well, i have been using the calorie count tools for a week as of today, so thought i would post my one week weight :)  157 lb, which is 2.5 lbs lost from last sunday :)  i wish it was yesterdays weight though, then i could of said i lost a solid 3 lbs :P  but i will take the 2.5 lb loss :)  i know its a good loss, and i am eating healthier then i was a week ago :)  and drinking waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more water :)
congrats unicat.

It's not official yet, but i'm hoping to be in this group in the next couple days! Today i woke up, weighed myself, and i weighed 160.8!! Oh man, 150's here i come! See you all soon!
Hello all!
I'm 5'8 and a half and I weigh 154 pounds. My mom tries to tell me it's because I'm tall, but I know she's patronizing me. I'm not huge, but it's definitely noticable that I can tone up abit, and should.
But I'm glad to join such a group, I don't feel so lonely now. :) Even so, I hope to bust out of here in the next couple of weeks, no offense. Happy to be here.
Yay Messam :)  dont ya just love when the measurements show it :) congrats :)  my latest measurements are on my journal page, if you want to check em out :)

Oompa looking forward to seeing you around :) congrats on the 160.8 :)

Holysong, actually your weight at your height is NOT BAD...  I have a friend who had gastric bypass almost a year ago, she is only 1/2 taller then you, and just recent hit the mid 160's... and her doctor told her she needs to start eating more calories and maintain this weight.  It is a GOOD weight for her height.

we are glad to have you though, how long have you been using cc??  and how old are you? have you figured out what amount of calories you should be eating for your height, weight, age??  and  how much are you exercising??

Just got home from my 9 year old's birthday party.  15 boys at a lazer tag place.  At 1/2 piece of pizza...pat on the back and luckily the kids ate all the cake and a few dads...so none to take home and be tortured with...yippee!

Ate some cottage cheese and a little chicken and going to go upstairs with a bottle or two of water and stay out of the kitchen and away from the wine.  Hubby is out playing hockey so I can just hibernate.

Welcome to anyone new and good luck.  I am plugging away though the scale is totally going up and down and making me crazy, but I know that persistance will pay off.

Good night all and good luck.  I know getting over the weekend can be hard, but it sounds like everyone is so motivated. Thanks...it's rubbing off on me.
wow wtg pooh :) 1/2 a piece of pizza, great willpower, i couldnt of done it.. and no cake on top of that :)  yay :)
okay so i did a home body fat test.. if you wanna read about it go check out my journal page entitled just that :)
quick question? if i run about 2 miles everyday except for sunday and i lift weights and run 2 miles tues, thursday, and saturday. would i be considered moderate exercise or light exercise? really confused about that
i hate my scale...up another today...it's tom and i'm going up and down like a yo-yo...you think i would stay off the thing, but NO, i have to torture myself.

Did a double jazzercise class...yippee for me...

Starving now going to do some sauteed veggies, egg beaters and a little cheese and line up the water bottles on the counter.   Trying not to be discouraged, because I know eventually it will catch up.  Keep doing it, it will work...right?  Good luck today all...

1. water

2. 1500 calories of good stuff, not junk (i worked out a lot, so I'm putting a few extra cals on my usual)

3. Stay positive and motivated.
messam - i dont know lol..  i just set mine at what i would normally be without the exercise, then add the exercise in daily (if you set it to what you would be with exercise daily, then you shouldnt add the exercise on your activity log)...  because i never know when i will have a day i just cant force myself to do it.. and then try to get more calories that day for that days exercise...

pooh - its alright, you know tom is gonna do that,  and i know its hard to resist the scale even then (although i dont have "tom" anymore, or havent since august)..    and, yay, a double jazzercise class, you go :)

my weight this morning was 156.5 so down a half pound :) yay.. i drank 8 - 16 oz cups of water yesterday, oh my...  i have gone through more than a 5 gallon jug of water since i started cc last sunday !!  i never thought i could ever drink soooooooo much water!! lol...  but this morning when i woke up and went to the ladies room it seemed like it took 5 minutes just to potty lol... (and as usual i had fits with my scale, cos it said 155.5 at first...  finally said 156.5 so i took that..) my goal today is to do whatever it is i did right yesterday lol..  i did my DDR yesterday and also 15 minutes of weights - some ab exercises with em...  so we will see how that goes today.. :)  have a great day ya'll :)

I really should take my measurements cus my scale is driving me bonkers too--I seem to be stuck at 150 ish, but my waist is clearly not hanging over my pants anymore--lol! My thighs and butt are a different story--I couldn't fit into a pair of my jeans this weekend, and I keep telling myself that I shrunk them in the dryer.

I'm going to drink some more water and tell myself that I will fit into those jeans again--just be patient!

I should never have bought a scale!
djrizzo- I have the same feeling.. my stomach and sides are not hanging over my pants any more but the dryer has indeed caused the stretch in my jeans to not stretch anymore.. so I will try again next week... however patience is not a virtue that I posess so we will see
I have SUCH a problem with my stomach and sides...  if you have looked at my measurements there isnt much difference between my hips/stomach...  i am doing billy blanks basic training which has some ab exercises in it on tuesday and thursday, and then this weekend i started doing some ab exercises on my proform crossover (ab crunches, seated ab twists, and kneeling ab crunches, 3 sets of 25 each) but i dont REALLY feel like i am getting a good workout on em..  i feel like my abs are soooo stretched apart from my kids that it doesnt feel like i am tightening em when i do the exercises, or if i do feel em tighten, its like they immediately relax??  anybody else have this feeling??  i dont know what else to do to try and tighten them, while i am trying to lose the fat around them??    any ideas anyone? (i know some of you are doing slim in six, but since i already have billys boot camp set, i am wondering how they compare?? if anyone has done both??
I just wanted to give a bit of encouragement to you all for a Monday....  You are all doing great making healthy choices and changes in your lifestyle.

Loosing weight takes time because you are changing your habits, adding in exercise and eating better.  You won?t get results overnight, but the results will come!  Soon you will need to get all new pants, believe me!  I have pants in size 18, 16, 14, 12 and now 8 and 6 (somehow I missed buying them in 10?s) If anyone needs pants, come see me!  ;)

If little blips in the scale are making you stress or discouraged, then put it away and only bring it out once a week for a weigh in.  When I first started last Jan, I had my boyfriend hide our scale because I would get upset and start to cry if I went up even by 0.2.  Take your measurements, write them down and then forget about them for a while.  When you measure yourself again in a few months, you will see a big change!  Waiting like that sure beats measuring every day for ¼ inch loss? that is no fun!

You all can do this, and are well on your way to reaching your goals.  Just keep at it and don?t give up!

Oh yah, and go drink some water right now!!  ;)
lol Heather thanks for the motivational speech ...  and yeah the scale stresses me out, lol.. but i cant resist stepping on it.. constantly lol. i am obsessed with it.. and if i had someone take it and hide it, i would freak out because then i couldnt see what i was doing on a daily basis and would stress about wether i had gained from this or that.. lol..   and about the measurements.. i LOVED seeing my change from feb of last year to the beginning of this year (btw, thanks for the comments ladies :) )   that was the most awesome feeling, but how bout if i do em say once a month?? think i will see good changes then? and still be excited about em?? lol

going to get my glass of water now :)
oh another thing about abs/stomaches/hips/sides... lol..

i was told to measure my waist at my belly button... but thats not where my sides dip in (looking from the front)... they actually dip in up above my belly button more..  should i be measuring there???
hello everyone, i'm back from the weekend.  i'm late checking in today besause i had not 1 but 2 flat tires to deal with this morning!!!!!  well i met my 2lb weight loss goal for the weekend, so i'm pretty proud  of myself.  i also lost some inches too!  i took my measurements on wed and was going to wait 1 week to take them again, but i'm so impatient.  i also got a new workout dvd.  it's a kathy smith walking workout which combines walking type moves with light weights and toning.  the steps are all easy to do and i can definetly feel it today.  My new goal is to make it to the 140's by Feb 6th.

I also had to buy new clothes this weekend.  I never bought fat clothes so when the only pair of jeans I had that fit (given to me by my cousins wife) got holes in some crucial areas I was forced to buy something.  The only problem I have is buying pants that I know wont fit in 3-4 weeks.  So I decided to buy a workout type suit in size small.  I'ts supposed to fit very loosely but it's a bit more like stretch pants right now.  At least I know that I can still wear it when I'm skinny.  What do  you all do about clothes as the lbs come off?

unicat- try pilates for your hips/waist.  Also i used to have an ab rocker that produced some great results in those areas.
stretch marks-  sadly i have gotten stretch marks on my thighs from weight gain.  I spent almost $200 on trilastin (got no results) and was pretty depressed about that.  I was begining to feel like I had no options and then.....this week I just started to use mederma ( @ $16 per tube) and am already seeing results.  I am applying it 4 times a day.  Just thought I'd pass that on in case anyone else has the same problem.  One thing though, it really only works on new (still red) stretch marks.  If yours are white now it most likely will not work.
Thanks for the words of encouragement Heather--the scale is going under my bed--I have to compromise with where I hide it so I can still reach for it--IF I think about it that is.

I am on my 2nd 650 ml bottle of water--might be third. I'm gonna cut out all the coffee I drink during the day--I just feel super dehydrated in the afternoon from it.

I just realized I must be lactose intolerant--the two cups of skim milk I had for breakfast made me blow up with so much gas I was wishing someone would poke me with a sharp object! lol!
