Anybody out there in their 50s??
We seem to have a little harder time dropping our weight. Slower metabolism and less active I think. I'm looking for the 50s group to lose and share with. I KNOW you're out there!

Happy 2009! We can make this the best year yet!

Oh heck yes that was a workout! Wow, you have that much snow, eh? Were you off today?

Yeah. We had 6 - 8 inches. It's blowing now. Bet that might mean a 2 hr. delay tomorrow if there's drifting. 

Am I ever ready for Spring!!

Oh yikes that's alot of snow! Be careful out there! We are due to have thunderstorms today..kinda unusual... I think I am about ready for spring myself although my body sure isn't! EEK! I really haveta step it up a notch!

Oh I really do not want to sound smug but I am so glad you got the snow instead of us.  It is cold here but the snow missed us and it is suppose to be up to 45F by Friday with rain.  I will take the rain thank you.

Serenity, I lost the email I sent to you but since you are posting on here you have answered my question.  I do not think I am going to post on the forum any more either.  I really do not like that fact that anyone can read it.  So I have migrated back to CC.

We all really do have to figure out what is going wrong with our weight loss though.

Thursday is our 5 year anniversary, we are going out for dinner and then on Monday to Thursday we have to go away on some Union business so that means eating out again.  Then I think we are home after that for a while.

I still am not exercising because my shoulder is still out, I wish it would hurry up and heal.  It does feel better than it did so it must be on the mend.

Yesterday I treated myself to a hair cut and if I do say so myself it looks and feels great.  I had most of the old dye cut out of it.

There now I am up to speed with what has been happening.

Ok where did everyone go?  It is finally warming up but with the warm weather comes the rain.  We saw our first Robin yesterday and that is a sure sign that Spring is on the way.   Yesterday was our 5 year anniversary (second marriage) and of coarse he pulled a nasty and told them at work he would work overtime, I was really pissed and I did intentionally make him feel bad.  He bought me some flowers and we went out for supper which I ate way to much and came home with a sore stomach but it did not fixed the problem.  Why are men so insensitive? We were suppose to be going away on Monday but now I do not know if we are going or not we have to wait for some guy to call and tell him if it is still on or we have to cancel the hotel room.

I look for yours but you haven't been using it I guess?  I just finished day 3 on Weight Watchers. !00% on target and I am commited to not faltering this time. I'm tired of never reaching my goal and I'm tired of putting food first. I am already down a few pounds and nothing is stopping me this time! :) I am very happy about it....'bout darn time I dealt with this! :)

Day 6 of Weight Watchers..down 4 lbs and finally back in control. Oh does it feel good to finally be back on track. Makes me wonder why we always give up and never finish the process. This time I really pray I am able to stay strong and keep going in the right direction!

Munsey? Jc? Dee? Bc? Martha? New ladies?  Where in sam heck is everybody? Spring is coming.. anybody working their plan besides Change and I? If not this is a perfect time to turn things around...

Day 7.. made it one week in full control. Yippee!

Yeah but I could not have done it without you serenitygirl.  I almost quit for good.

(((Sandra))) Never say never sweetie.. you gotta always keep trying! Sometime we hit roadblocks but there are always ways around them. I've had some hard knocks in life too but you just gotta pick yourself up, dust yourself off and know that you are ALWAYS worth the work! :) 

I think spring is here.  My orchids are almost ready to pop open in the garden where the sun hits.  I saw some little birds that look like canaries.  My husband says they are nightingales.  They have a beautiful call.

I ran in the park, and it seemed spring-like.  I didn't need my gloves for long.

I am tired of never reaching my goal either... But, maybe change is really in the air.  Yesterday, I hit all my daily goals.  That doesn't happen often...

Woke up with a headache this morning and the nice job of packing everything in the hotel room so we can go home.  I do not feel as puggy today so maybe things are looking up, I will know tomorrow morning when I weight myself. 

I have to go home and go shopping tomorrow for food.

It is not snowing so that is one good thing.

Now I am going to sip my green tea and read until hubby comes back.

Glad you guys are still here for me to come running back to. It's just been one of those not-so-good weeks when whatever could go wrong has (gone wrong!)

But I'm hanging in there and I'm not gonna give up. What I fork into my face IS something I can control, even if other things in my life aren't under my control just now.

We've had a couple more spring-like days as well. What a boost to the morale they are!

Nice to see you back Jc..I was wondering where you disappeared to! :) Hang in there sweetie, life sometimes isn't easy but thankfully it always gets better with time!

Change..maybe your headache is from sugar withdrawal...it's very possible so if it is then it's "a good headache"..in a weird sorta way! Hope it has gone away by the time you read this!

Kyashiis...nice to meet...ohh spring sounds wonderful..it's such a pretty time of year.. I am ready for it too!

Well I am back home now in my own surroundings for a while.  This is what I ate today there has been a no no.

Breakfast: Orange, 2 hard boiled eggs

Snack: Apple

Lunch: Tim Horton's Chicken sandwich on whole wheat bun (small) with mustard and (here is the no no) a trail mix cookie and a green tea (I had two cookies but I made hubby eat the other one.

Dinner: green beans, spinach, a very tiny piece of pork chop with nothing on it and a salad with Low fat Italian dressing and a glass of milk

Kitchen is now closed except for maybe a drink of something later tonight.

I will get on the scales tomorrow.  Hopefully I will not of gained anything.

Came home, checked my neighbours house and mail, did a load of laundry, cleaned up the dishes and now I am going to go watch TV with hubby.

JCR - Hang in there Linda is right things have to get better.

Linda:  Where ta heck are steamed carrots on the G.I. List are they red, yellow or green?  Oh and how did I do?

= 56 - 69,  High GI = 70 or more.  Raw carrots = 16, Boiled carrots=41.  All carrots are low Gi..eat them to hearts content! :) Most vegetables are not a worry..

One little cookie is not a no-no.. it's just a treat..couldn't have been more than 3-4 points...you have to treat yourself sometimes.. Today I had sugarfree ice cream..you just gotta treat yourself occassionally..the most important thing is just to stay on your W.W. points/or calorie allotment..whatever way you are counting. Your day looks excellent! I see such a difference in what you are doing compared to your menus you shared with me the other day! :)

PS: drink alot of water to flush out yesterdays Kung Pao sodium so you hopefully get a nice surprise on the scale tomorrow morning! :)

Good thing because we just love carrots.

Oh man the wine I had with supper has gone straight to my head.  Not funny at all.

 

You've been dieting without much sugar....the wine would hit ya fast! :)
