And Im happy to put this altogether! I was so sad when I missed out on all the other challenges! (plus it lets me flex my coordination and spreadsheet skills!).

Hey, just a ? for you.  What will happen if someone doesn't weight in or stops participating in our threads?  Not saying anyone has, but we've only had 8/16 people so far be active on our Team 2 thread.  Also....I'm sure we're all aware of the turnover rate for weight loss initiatives...what'r we going to do if someone leaves us?

Just some things I was thinking about.
so do we weigh in on the 4th? I am at 202 but i'm hoping to maybe acheive 201 by the 4th. would it be unfair?
regardless i'm so stoked! this is such an awesome motivation!

wow, after reading my post its obvious i'm from california.....
I think the best idea would be to not go by actual "total" weight loss in pounds, but percentages. That would be optimal, because if people do leave, then it doesn't put the team at a disadvantage. 
I was thinking about that too, about what if someone leaves. 

 THe spreadsheet I worked out will be able to calculate percentages and what not so I will just have to average it out, or take the "best 10" losers or something.  We will figure it out when we get there I guess.  I know there has been two extra people wanting to join so I was thinking if we lose a lot of people then we could just sub in.  The ones who are eager to join would make good replacements anyhow.

Our first Weigh in is the 10th.  I figured why not give everyone those first 3-4 days as extra to build a habit.
Can some one explain to me how this works, and if it is too late for me to join up?

This is a 12 week weight loss challenge.  Basically we formed teams to motivate each other to lose weight.  The two teams are competing against each other to see who can lose the most weight and which person will be crowned "the biggest loser."  Its like the tv show.  Sign ups for this one have closed but you can still join in on the weight loss, and be an alternate, that way if someone drops out, we will stick you in as a replacement.  All you need to do is record your starting weight and your weight at each of the weigh in dates listed above, and then keep checking this thread, or the weight loss forum.  If we need replacements, I will stick you in!

Yay! Glad to be a minnie me! I need to check in on the Minnie Me thread. Being new to the community boards, I'm wondering why my "tag its" don't seem to be sticking...I tag a board, but the next day I log in...nothing appears as "tagged"? Am I missing something?

Zoe, once you click Tagged Items you have to click [Forums] on the top.  Also, if you tagged it with any type of punctuation marks in the "tags" portion I don't think it sticks.....that threw me off when I started tagging things, too.  I normally just hit "TAG IT" and change the name to something that will help me remember.  I know that might not be using the Tag function to it's greatest potential, but it's working for me;)  I do add tags to my foods, but it's normally just a category like: fruit, vegetable, sandwich, meal, meat, drink, side, dessert - things like that...I like it better than searching over and over or going back 3 days in my food log to find something I ate again today lol



kjmadill, I'm actually going to make a web application that everyone can go to and use.  I'll send you the excel spreadsheet though so you can use the Goal Seek if you want.  If you don't know how, just reply to my email and I'll give you a run through;)  I'll get around to those 2 things today.  I've got a few more things to do for now, but hopefully I'll have time this afternoon to work on them.
Can I join in?  Is it too late?  My start weight (for this) on 1/29 was 196.
