In my 30's need to lose 50++ pounds looking for a buddy or group
A little weight gain maybe next week. Does anybody else's monthly cycles change when dieting or exercising? I am so irregular anyway but usually skip this month I have had 2 cycles in one month?? Long heavy too sorry tmi...is this normal?

I've been working on these last 12 pounds for months now.

Can you believe not that long ago I went from 185 down to 155 and I have put 20lbs back on? I am so mad, depressed and upset at myself. But yet I keep eating the worst foods to make myself 'happy'.
I own a treadmill at home.
I have many many many low fat healthy foods I *could* eat.
I just don't get it :(
Sure! I'm in! I love this site, it's very helpful! I started in mid April and have gone from over 225 to 209 lbs. so far. I'm 5 '9" and 31 years old. I'm looking to get around 165 by the end of the year. Even 170 or 175 would be a victory. I've always been heavier than I looked, and when I weighted 145-150 in college, people started saying I was "too thin"... I guess there is such a thing, but I haven't seen it in 10 years!
This week I stalled by skipping the gym for 5 days straight and didnt' lose an ounce, even thought I ate well most days. I can't stress enough ho wmuch getting 4 or more days of "real" excersise in per week makes a huge difference on my weight loss. that and really watcihng carbs and fat. but this is obvious, right? I started my weight loss journey for the umpteenth time 2 years ago...I was 260lbs and miserable. I lost about 30lbs on my own before finding CC. I've been on CC since March of 2008 and have lost another 40lbs. I've still got quite a ways to go and could definitely use some friends along the way!

canuckabroad: I did the same thing. Last year I was on CC I went from 197 to 173 was starting to feel so much better, and it was just becoming a way of life. TRhen, we moved and all went down the tubes. I gained back almost all that I lost in 6 months due to my own eating and lack of exercise. I am now back on and starting all over, but I know we will succeed this time!!
I screwed up my ankle and stopped running for a month. I look back at my old posts and see that not so long ago I posted that I was running 2x a day! God I miss that.
I'm back on track today - way under my cals - but I've been so far over the last month I'm not worried.
Oh ladies, I've been there too! I was at 200lbs in september of 2008 and then gained back about 18lbs. I got back on the wagon on January 1st 2009 and I'm not looking back.
I started the couch 2 5K program on Jan 1 also and now I can jog 5k in 40 minutes. It's not fast, but it's been helping me lose weight. I tend to lose weight really slowly...partly because I refuse to starve myself and partly I just think because that's how my body is. But I'm happy to say I've been losing about 5lbs a month for 6 months. I hope I can keep up that rate and be at 175 by Halloween.
I've also found that if I go over my calories one day and I'm under the next it all evens out in the long run...I try to aim for about 1400 calories a day. How much are you guys eating vs. how fast/slowly the weight is coming off?

I've been getting so off track every weekend that I work my arse off all week just to get BACK to where I was before the weekend started. After 2 months and only losing 4lbs I am determined to make my weekends count. Today I am at 1200 calories and I am going to stay strong this holiday weekend. I'm going to see the 180's again by monday...there's NO stopping me!
How is everyone doing? Did you last the long weekend without going off your diet?
I didn't have a long weekend here in the UK - but have managed to stay under 1400cal/day. Even saw a nice number this morning :)
Down zero pounds in 2 weeks! D'oh! still 5 9", 209, age 31. want to get to 170 or less by years end.
Here are my problem: drinking cocktails during weekends/holidays/bbq's etc. and skipping the gym this week too. no more slacking just cause it's nice out. I still walk 40 minutes a day no matter what as I commute, but I think my body is used to it now, so gotta make sure to go to the gym 5 times a week or more.
