I'm right at the bottom of the 170s at 171.5, looking to push into the 160s pretty soon.  It has been a while since I have been in the 160s! My long term goal is to get down to 140 and then assess wether I need to go down any further than that.

My highest weight was 196 so have already come some way.  How is everyone doing?  I've kind of stagnated the last couple of weeks staying at 171.5  hoping to break that though.

I'm right with you!

I'm at 170.5 and chomping at the bit to finally break into the 160's.

I'm positive you'll push through to the 160's - just don't give up!

Me too, I'm a bit higher at 173.8on Saturday. I can't wait to get to the 160's I started Jan 25 at 194.2, and I'm so ecstatic with the results I'm seeing so far. Let's get the 160's together!!!!!! Oh and my first goal is 150 and then I'll make 10lb goals after that.

Dee
Well hopefully I should be in the 160s within the next week or so.
Me too.  I was 171 this morn.  I was stuck at 172 forever.  I have a binging problem.  It is no fun entering all those binge calories on the food log, I hope I never have to do that again.  160's here I come!
Hi Jack, savvy, Dee, and tjretro!

I am new to this forum. I am 171 and 5ft 7".  I am really struggling along because I am a yo yo dieter.  I have issues with some sugar cravings and emotional eating.  I hope that I can join you on your successful road to 160!  That would feel great!  I have been down to 145 a few years ago...but I am not doing anything consistently.  I really hope to count my calories consistently.  I already ate too much today...I have some calories left for a salad or something nutritional and low in calories.

So close! 170.5 this morning! Gah!

Jack
tjretro,
Soooo proud of you!!! My you have continued success!!! I am really trying to get into that zone..Natcat
I'm at 173, and I'm looking for a buddy!! I've only been using this site for a couple of days now but I'm already an addict and I'd love to stay in contact with some people who have the same kind of goals that I do.
Hi aliciamala,
I hope you are finding your way around! I too am fairly new and can use all the buddies I can get!  I can honestly say that I am very motivated by the cool people I've been communicating with at cc.
I was really discouraged two days ago and I was really supported to not give up on myself. It made all the difference to me. I am almost 169.  Maybe tomorrow...I'm at 170 today.  Stick to your goals and make small goals for yourself at first... You can do this!  natcat

Hi Natcat,

Thanks for the encouraging words! Trust me, I know all about being discouraged recently. Last week I went to the gym every single evening and counted my calories diligently (I was using a different website) but somehow managed to go UP a half a pound! ARGH! It's times like that that I seriously consider just giving up and eating a poundcake.

You're the first person that I've actually talked to directly on here, but I've been lurking on the boards and can tell that everyone here is really supportive! That's exactly what I need to make this happen as I'm definitely an emotional eater.

If you don't mind me asking, how many calories are you allowing yourself a day? This site says I'm allowed 1650, but that seems too good to be true?
I am trying to stay under 1400.  I can even do 1300, but I rarely do.
I am trying to work out 4x/week.  I've just started jogging indoors at the track at my gym.  I also do a little weight training.  I am slowly improving on my activity level.  I also like biking, but for now, cold weather is back, so I'll have to wait for warm weather outdoor activity.  I am not the expert, but I might suggest you could possibly go lower than the recommended calories of 1650, especially if you are active. Are you exercising?  natcat

Well, I wanted to wait for two days in a row below 170, and it has happened. 169.6 - wooo hooo!  It was a short stay with you guys but I guess I have to find me a new home :(

I hope you all join me in the land of the 160's very very soon!!!

Dee
Congratulations Dee!! Hopefully I'll see you there soon!

Natcat: I am staying around 1400-1500 calories a day just incase. If I don't lose anything I'll try 1650.

I am very active in general as my job is physically demanding, and I also exercise about 4-5 times a week. I thought if you exercise that you're supposed to eat more calories, not less? I'm totally confused now!!
You are supposed to eat more calories if you exercise.  You need to replace the fuel that you use.  To lose weight you need to use more than you eat, but by no more than 1000 calories.. probably say between 500-750 more than you eat.

I would say BMR - 500 = Normal Calories + Any Extra Calories from Exercise.  If you don't eat enough, you wont have enough calories to burn the excess fat.
I am just joining the 170's today.  Unfortunately I got up into the 190's.  I was in the 180s for three weeks.  This morning I stepped on the scale and it was 179.4. WooHoo!  Hopefully I won't be in this club for very long.  I want to get down to 160.  I have not been that low since high school.  I love it.  My pants are actually fitting where they are supposed to.

My wife and I are doing this as a team.  Together we have lost almost 20 lbs.
I was stuck at 180 for a over two weeks and today I hit 178! WOOOOWHOOOOOOOOO! I'm in the 170 club! But soon to be in the 160's club, I have a good feeling about this!
I told you I had a good feeling about this! Today I wiegh 176.8! I'm making my way down to the 160 club.
Getting closer! I weighed 175.6 today. I don't know if it's healthy, but i'm eating enough and didn't even work out yesterday and I still lost a pound!
