140s want to be 130s discussion/support group *ALWAYS OPEN*
taking a page from restless_girl's book, because i don't understand why groups have to be exclusive.
me, i've been kicking around in the 140s (both extremes and everywhere in between) for over a year now, and trying to get down to 135. at my highest i was 167-ish; that was long ago. but it seems that every time i knock at the door of 139, i get complacent and backslide (beer & chicken wings anyone?).
weigh-in if you want, or just commisserate and support. i'll pop in periodically ;)
Sounds great! Tomorrow it's on! It'll be 5k in celebration of this election being over!
I've had a week of recovery days...
:)
ah boo... I am not a runner in the slightest but I'll be lifting weights tomorrow :) Not at 2 either... lol.. more like 8 pm.. but I'll still be happy the election is over!!
Hello all!!! wanted to join you also... I have gotten down to 137 around May from 158 a year ago. then vacation hit, then summer hit and back to 145 this morning - not a happy camper. I have gotten away from exercising, as we had bought a house last year, and we seemed to be working on it day and night, then we built a two level deck on the house.
I need a kick in the butt!!!!!
cool, coop (can i call you coop?). what kind of exercise do you favour? want to jump on our every-second-day bandwagon?
Hi everyone-
Okay so no matter what I seem to do, my weight just sits at the same spot. 146. Ive been at this for like 5 weeks now... I do notice clothes fit better, my arms are more toned and my tummy appears to be a tiny bit more trim (and I can see 2 abs!)
I know its possible I lost fat but added muscle since I am lifting 2 days a week but its still discouraging...
(PS- I took about a week and a half off re: trip, then Halloween) and just got back to it Saturday & Sunday.... (took today off- super sore from weight session yesterday)
Just wanted to rant. :)
chelslaw, i think we've all hit those roadblocks at times. are you switching up your exercise at all? when we keep doing the same thing, we get too efficient and we don't get the same benefit. maybe try something new?
you probably are building muscle, though, so that's good!
good morning! new low this morning; 137.0 :)... good stuff! I did well yesterday and plan on doing well again today...
vicki- how's it going!!! long time no see! *kick* ;)
chelslaw- I agree with pgeorgian... try to change up the exercise, how are the deficits looking? when was your last maintenance day? If you took ~ a two-week break maybe it's just water weight.. start chugging!! you can do this!!! and building muscle is never a bad thing :) try increasing your weights, that helps my weight get moving sometimes!
have a great day everyone! now, GO VOTE!!!!!!!!
yay krrpt!! you rock ;)
i wish i could vote. i'm excited for y'all, though!! i changed my facebook status to "...is sending rational vibes south" this morning.
so tiggens and i are running today; what exercise is everyone else up to?
Hi everyone. I would like to get down to 135, and I've been rolling around 148 and less than that for a while now. I'm down and then I am back up. I hate this cycle, and I've been working my butt off to get to 145, and below it. It a touch and go process, and I am still trying to get all the bugs out of my program. I think starting core rhythms is going to help me out a lot here. I also been working on the stair machine at the gym for 15 mins, and I've been doing this for a week. A CC friend on here does those stairs and her legs looks better than mines, and I've been pressing weight with my legs for months. I'm just going to keep on pushing for the best.
welcome lynn!
i did my run - 5k through the woods. you know, i'm actually starting to like the mud!! i just realized that thursday is going to be a challenge, though. i have a dentist appointment at 11 and i'm guest-lecturing in my supervisor's feminist research class at 2 (2:30? i'd better look that up...). i know i could go early, but it's COLD! and it's dark by 5 already. hmmm.
thanks pgeorgian... I did a little run today I been done the 5k learn and run program.. www.coolrunning.com is where I got my program from. I loved every moment of it, and I can do the 5k in around 41 to 45 mins on most days, it depends on how I go about doing it. But you keep up the good work on that run. I still run, but not the 5k. 2 miles here 1 there. It's what ever I can squeeze in right now. I did find a way to squeeze it in twice last week. Now I am working on my other program trying to build some sexy abs.
good morning! how's everyone doing today? I'm down again.. 136.6 this morning! time to take pics of progress.. I've been doing it every two pounds.. I've only lost 4 of 10 but hey, somthing to look back on when I get to maintenance :)
I did my weight lifting last night while watching the votes roll in.. I focused on chest and triceps and some leg stuff. I feel like such a bamf when I lift weights :) love it! Today I have class so no workout but I'm hoping to pass a typing test so send some positive vibes this way :) Tomorrow is going to be back and biceps with the same leg exercises.
pgeorgian- my vote is that you go run early :) Get it out of the way and then you can relax and focus on everything else you have going on! I love morning workouts but they're just about impossible when I go to bed at 11 and have to be up at 530 am just to get to work on time... I've finagled exercise into my schedule somehow... lol. That seminar sounds like it will be interesting!
welcome lynn! your progress is awesome! keep up the great work!
i was up a little yesterday, but am trying not to worry about it. i but then i kind-of lost it with the halloween candy (not to mention the obama-celebration-whiskey!). those wee chocolate bars add up fast!
i'm feeling optimistic, though.
as far as tomorrow's run, it depends on what i accomplish today. i have to do a little preparation for my lecture (not a lot, but a little). if i get that done today, then i'll have time tomorrow to go for a run between breakfast and the dentist ;)
where did everyone go? tiggens, did you run on tuesday?
still here :) weight is still the same as yesterday... 136.6.. I didn't get any exercise last night b/c of class.. didn't pass my typing test but I know I will pass soon... just need to practice...
pg- Did you get your run in? and yes- halloween candy adds up quite fast!!
oh.. and a reason for lack of enthusiasm may be because it seems that whenever I post anything, people never go back to the thread again... I just must not be that interesting.. lol
i haven't gone yet this morning (i'm on pacific time, and it's still below freezing), but i'm planning to head out in about half an hour. that's the latest i can push it and still have a shower and get to the dentist on time ;)
seriously - it's hard! i have to eat something before i run, and after i eat i have to digest, and i enjoy my coffee more if i drink it before i eat, so i can't run until i've been up at least 2 - 3 hours. then the run itself takes an hour (not that i run for an hour, but with the getting ready and cooling off). then a shower and something else to eat before i get on with whatever i have to do next...i have to get more efficient before i get a real job!
what's with the typing test, krrpt?

we're in different timezones, my love. you're posting at 4am my time ;)
lol :) not you personally! I've noticed in general that once I post in forums the conversation tends to come to a screeching halt... ah well :)
jogging in the morning sounds like a tough task! I put aside 1 hour for lifting for the same reasons.. changing, streching, setting up shop... and I, too, need to digest fully before working out.. Probably why I stopped working out in the morning.. Can't function without coffee first.. also, added benefit to night workouts, showering, then going to sleep.. :)
I'm going to school for Court Reporting :) Right now typing at 180 wpm.. need to type 225 wpm to graduate... getting close! I'm working to get to the 200 wpm class.. I plan on graduating by next summer.
okay - you just convinced me: i'm going to postpone my run until i get home after my lecture (if i leave at the break, i can be home by 4, so it's still daylight, if chilly).
225 wpm is CRAZY! now that you mention it, though, you never make typos ;)
so...posting on CC is like homework for you. bonus!
