140s want to be 130s discussion/support group *ALWAYS OPEN*
taking a page from restless_girl's book, because i don't understand why groups have to be exclusive.
me, i've been kicking around in the 140s (both extremes and everywhere in between) for over a year now, and trying to get down to 135. at my highest i was 167-ish; that was long ago. but it seems that every time i knock at the door of 139, i get complacent and backslide (beer & chicken wings anyone?).
weigh-in if you want, or just commisserate and support. i'll pop in periodically ;)
Not in the 130s yet, but halfway through the 140s. Hit a personal low of 143.2 this morning, taking me to both 20% loss from my starting weight and a BMI of 25.0.
I haven't had a chance to exercise much lately due to finals. (It's all well and good to tell the students they need to take time off studying to get rest/food/exercise, but when you're the one setting the exams - and trying to chase down the other people working on them with you - you don't get the same luxury. Besides, most of them don't listen to that advice anyway. :-) The exams not being written on time is *not* an option - and any flaws have to be caught ahead of time or they can cause disasters in terms of working out final grades. I suspect most students have no idea how much time goes into writing an exam that will properly test their knowledge/understanding without being overkill.) Anyway, my marking should be done today. Then, the load lightens and I can get back to life.
I'm hoping to hit the 130s by the end of June. Earlier than that would be nice, but I expect some water retention when I go back to proper strength training, so I'm trying to keep my goals realistic.
hey i'm 5'9, currently 146ish down from the upper 150s in january...i wanna see what the 130's look like. reeeeal bad.
for the past month or so i have been zig-zagging between 145 and 149 and it's going to drive me insane. i'm hoping to get down to be 135 by the 4th of july.
oh...and i still don't really exercise. i need a good kick in the ass.
Yeah Susiecue! Good job on the personal low. Doesn't that feel great?
Rotten- Sounds to me like you know you need to get some exercise in to break your zigzagging, but need someone else to tell you that. So, go take a walk. 30 minutes a day of a quick paced walking will help immensely. Especially if you haven't been doing anything (like me). I haven't been getting in my daily lunch time walk and my weight loss has stalled. I am at a happy weight now, but I would really like to drop into the 120's to see what they are like. I haven't seen them in over 20 years!!
Anyone still around on this one?
i'll check in: on may 6 i went into the hospital for surgery (total abdominal hysterectomy) at 142.5. two weeks and a couple of complications later, i'd blown right past the 130s and settled in at 129. feeling better now, though, getting my energy back, and my appetite is returning. today i'm 131, and quite pleased with myself! i'm almost ready to star running again.
i have slowly put on weight since I started college in the fall. I weighed 130, and wanted to actually drop about 5lbs...and ended up gaining ten from being depressed and just the stress of college.
now, i am trying to lose 8-10lbs by the time i go to a family reunion aroun July 10th. Today when I logged on to see my home page it said "your target weight will be reached august 12, 2009" and it pissed me off!! I know I can lose these pesky pounds (at least 8) by the time I go to my family reunion because I've done it before (long story! lets just say I went to my grandparents for a month for 'fat camp' before i was a senior in HS haha).
I want this. I can do this, and I am so glad I can pop in here once in a while to get motivated by you guys!! keep it up!
Way to go PG! Woo Hoo to you. I can't believe you are ready to run again already! WOW! How's the pup handled you being slowed down by surgery?
Chrissyrae90 - You can do it. We'll try to cheer you on!
I am hanging in the mid 130's these days. My hubby moved back to the states and I gained 3 lbs. That's OK though.....I am in the middle of my 5 lb comfort zone, so all is good. When he heads out for a couple of weeks again, I willd drop a couple back off, I hope!
So last year I lost 18 pounds between July and Novemeber and managed to keep it off most of the year. As a teacher I'm up and about all day and last summer I was working at a day camp so I was also pretty active. This year I have very little to do, but I joined a gym to stay motivated and take classes at least 4 times a week, plus weights for toning and the exercise bike for more cardio. I'm up 5 pounds and I'm not losing inches because my clothes are starting to fit tighter. Does anyone have any ideas for what I can do during the day so that I'm not just sitting around? Oh yeah, one more thing, I'm getting married in December so I'd love to be down in the 130's by September or so. Thanks.
Will I lose weight if I eat the same food over and over?
You can lose weight despite eating the same food day-after-day as long as you eat fewer calories than you burn. In fact, eating the... Read more
