I'm in!  I started at 158 three weeks ago and am now down to 152.  I'm trying to do it in a way that I can stick with for life!  (Which is going to be challenging...)

My ultimate goal would be 135, but I would be okay with 140!

Hey!  I'm new on here.  I've been stuck at 160 after having 3 kids and can NOT lose it.  (I don't gain but I dont lose either!)  I want to be at least 145 but wouldn't mind losing more!  Plus, guess what.....after about a week on here, I think I lost a pound!  I say think because my scale is not always accurate and I will not believe it totally until I see more of a loss than 1 pound but I'm still excited to see the scale move for once! lol

So, what I am saying, is...I'm in!

YEAH!!! I say we close the group at about 15 or so? I feel like it will make it easier for us to develope a closer knit group for support.
My name is Carie.
5'6"
156 pounds
Married 2 kids (Courtney 18 Nick 14) and 2 step kids (Alex 18 and Hayden 15)
39 years old
I am really looking forward to droppin' some pounds with you all!

I'm down! I was near my goal around april but then I got a new desk job and I've gotten really big from the lack of movement.

My name is Sarah, I'm 5'6'' and I was 155.6 that last time i weight myself. I'm hoping to make my goal of 135, sometime in december

eeek!  I'm a bit shorter than you guys and weigh about the same.  My stats are:

5'4"

152 pounds

Single mom of 2 (Kyleigh is 7, Kolby is 5)

At 135 I am a size 4-6, and that is my ultimate goal.  I am trying to get down to 145 by November 1st...I'm three weeks in and 5 pounds down so I'm hoping it's not too unrealistic!  I was 147 or so in April when I started my MBA and got a laptop...the weight has piled on since then.

I've been doing well with calorie counting and exercise these last couple of weeks but I do have my days...and today happens to be one of them.  I am absolutely STARVING and it's only 3:45...and I only have about  400 calories left for the day!

-Angie

Sarah, we are practically the exact same size. Depending on where I shop I am an 8 or a 10. Sometimes a 12 if I am at a "younger" store like American Eagle. At 39, gravity has put my weight in my booty!

Angie, your goals sound right on track! And you can do a lot with 400 calories.....Chicken, rice or small potato and LOT'S of veggies?

I am just finished eating dinner and have consumed around 1500 calories. My plan is to walk tonight and than have a small snack....SF pudding or something like that.

How many calories do you all try to shoot for?
What types of exercise do you do?
I try to fluctuate between 1200 and 1800 calories a day. Mixing it from day to day. And my GOAL is to walk 4 times a day. I have been lacking in that dept. but Know that workouts are critical to weight loss! So I plan to get serious about it!

carie87 I'm round that same size. i know all the clothes i own are 8's but my mom sent be a new pair of jeans (same brand and same size) and they don't fit. So I guess realistically I'm a 10.

This week I've been cosuming equal to my burn meter around 1,900-2,000 since I've been weight lifting. I'm thinking next week I'll try and lower it in attempts to lose some weight. but at the moment I'm concerntrating on getting less jiggle.

I'm 5'4 and 160 (possibly 159 now!!)

I'm married (6 years) Mom of 3 boys

Stay at home mom

I wear a size 12 usually in jeans which is decent.  I've gained weight from my pregnancies.  I was 130 when I started having kiddos and my highest weight while pregnant was 160!  Which is what I am now!  It's like I'm 9 months pregnant.  I carry it well though but it's easy to hide it with today's clothes.  Unfortunately when I get dressed I see the weight and it makes me depressed.

I ate 1600 something calories today and did over 2,000 something on my burn meter.  I did better yesterday but I burned about 500 today.

My exercise routine:

I do one or two 20-30 minute walks at work per day.  If it's nice I take my kids for a bike ride after work, usually for 30-45 minutes.  My son rides pretty slow so it's not a FAB workout, but at least we are out moving!  I also work out on the elliptical at the gym for 30 minutes 3x per week.  I have a couple of good videos too if all else fails!  As you can see, I try to mix it up to keep from getting bored!

Food:

I have been trying to keep a 500-700 calorie deficit, though today I will probably be more like 400 or possibly closer to equal if I give in to my temptation for a "skinny cow" treat!

So far I am counting calories and being very strict during the week and then I relax some on the weekends.  I still try to make good choices but I don't log everything.  This seems to be working out okay, since I seem to still be losing!  I am going to a wedding reception tomorrow night, so I'm a little nervous about that.  Also, my son is having his birthday party at a pizza place on Sunday...I haven't really eaten cheese in the last three weeks.  Not sure what I will do about that either!

I will probably try to get in some extra exercise this weekend, I'd like to do stuff outdoors, so hopefully the weather cooperates!

Awesome to see what everyones goals are, and how you are so far successful with the things you are doing! Sarah, I love that your intake is a bit higher and more realistic based on your workouts! The last sight I was on was full of women eating 1100-1200 cals and killing themselves working out! They lost weight, but I cannot live that way long term. I would rather lose slower this time and keep it off!!!

Angie, sounds like you've got it down! Skinny cows are great! I ended my day around 1650, and burned about 2050. I had SF pudding and lite cool whip for my after dinner treat! And for tommorow I made this AMAZING pie.......
1 Reduced fat pie crust
1 pkg SF pudding made with FF milk    (1 3/4 Cup)
4oz reduced fat Crm Cheese
Lite for FF Cool Whip
1 Tbs Splenda
1 Tbs Milk

Beat 1 T milk, crm cheese, and splenda until creamy, than add 1/2 cup Cool Whip
Spread into pie crust
Spread prepared pudding on top.
Chill atleast 4 hours than spread cool whip on top.
Cut into 8 pcs. 190 cals each. 6 grams of fat each.

Good night ladies! Skinny dreams to all!

Oooo!!  Thanks for the recipe!  I may have to try that.  Good night and skinny dreams to you too!!  Smile

oo oo oo -- me too, please.

Been in the low 150s since March and can't seem to stay on the straight and narrow long enough to get down to the 145 I think is my goal weight....

5"8' 150-153.5 lbs, depending on the time of day and how much popcorn I ate the night before....

I can't tell you how much I love it that everyone has realistic goals......no one 5'6" or taller wanting to be 110 pounds.
Very cool!
Well, do a great job today! Weekends can be so hard.
I will be working from 7a to 3p. I packed a sandwich and carrot sticks for lunch!
More later!!!

Eh...woken up at 6 this morning by my 5 year old, he seems to have the stomach flu!  I'll be around a puker all day today so I guess that should help keep my eating in check!  (Gotta find a bright side since now I'll be stuck at home with my sickie all weekend.  Ugh!)

Stepped on the scale this morning hoping I might see a little more loss...it hasn't budged though.  Still exactly 152.7!  Which is fine I guess, at least it didn't go up!

me in too! Smile

I am 5'1" (guess I am the shortest of the lot here!) and weigh 152 pounds, and dress a size 10 petite - sometimes inching to 12 which really depresses me then.
I would like to go down to 140 - I know that I should be even further down but I feel if I set myself a do-able goal, I can then be motived to lose further since all my past 'perfectionist' attempts have been failures!

So, I eat between 1300-1500 everyday, aim to get an A or A- :) but sadly haven't been exercising much. I think I will attempt to walk 30 minutes everyday to begin with :)

Angie...Big bummer on the puking kid! But yes, you will be too busy (and maybe a little nauseous) to concern yourself all day with food! But don't FORGET to eat all together!

Baubles....5' 1"....wow, that is little! 140 is a great goal! Can't wait to help you get there!

Well, I had eggs and oatmeal for breakfast so far! Yum!
Ham sandwich and veggies bagged up for lunch!

I am determined to do some kind of exercise tonight!!!!

I would like to join.  I am at my whits end on how to loose and keep off the weight.  I have been going back and forth from 150 to 158 for months now!  Any advice from anyone would be helpful.  I went on a STUPID detox diet and lost down to 148 but of course have gained all that back!  I have been told that messed up my metabolism now and would take weeks or MONTHS to get it back on target and the only way to get it back up is to start eating 1400 calories a day for a while.  DOES THAT SOUND RIGHT?

Hi raneyday, welcome!

1400 calories does sound about right, (my meter says 1500) but you didn't mention your height?  That might make a little bit of difference.  Also, have you been logging your calories and exercise?  What has helped me the most to start with is to make sure the calories on my food meter are going to be at 500-700 calories less than my burn meter every day.  If it looks like I won't make it I try to fit in some type of exercise (even a 30 minute walk) to burn a bit more.  I've also tried to increase my protein and limit fat, which has been working out okay.  The biggest challenge I have is keeping my carbs down to a reasonable level!

Awesome advice Angie. And welcome Rany.
I find it hard to believe that you messed up your metabolism so badly it would take months to undo.
I am in the EXACT same boat going from 150 to 157 back down, back up, back down.....well you get the picture!

This time lets do this! Slow and steady! No starving or killing ourselves at the gym! Just healthy eating and reasonable workouts! Stuff we can live with for the long haul!!!!
