Sad-Day Happy Foods
On days when I'm just not feeling my best, I always go for certain foods that are surefire to make me feel better, and I'd like to hear from everyone theirs.
My three top happy foods are:
- Fruit Roll Ups (50-calories per roll)
- Bananas (72 - 135 cal per fruit)
- Pears (80 - 100 cal per fruit)
Reason: Released as sticky
Marshmallows (not very healthy though!!)
Grapes
Milk
Tuna
dried fruit with nuts
lucky charms
coffee with hot chocolate
mango... mmm
Blueberries
Raspberries
Peanut butter on toast (something about warm and gooey that's just great!)
Skinny Cow vanilla ice cream sandwich
Oatmeal.
Any fruit.
More oatmeal.
And...did I mention oatmeal?
I think we can all certainly say that fruits are happy foods. Except lemons... they're kind of sour and make you pucker your lips. But watching someone with something sour makes you happy... At least, it makes you laugh...
Kiwifruit
Canned peaches (solids only)
Salmon (smoked or sashimi)
Cranberry sauce
Propel fitness water
Oreos
Cran-rasp juice
I agree with the banana or a good cold, crisp apple.
I also really like a good granola bar or some flavored oatmeal.
Yogurt is another good one too.
2)Broccoli
3)Grilled plantains !
Cereal
100 calorie pack cookies with milk
Ice cream!!
Watermelon
apples with peanut butter
-Ice cream
-Brownies
-PB&J sandwiches
-Grilled cheese sandwiches
-Macaroni and cheese
You know... stuff that makes you feel like a kid again!
Bread and cereal make me happy. ![]()
taro rolls with organic peanut butter
pineapple
cashews!
anything hot, like...
oatmeal
hot chocolate
cereal (ok thats not hot, but yeah)
microvaved soynut butter (im allergic to peanuts) and banana sandwiches
pasta
oreos
ENGLISH TEA!
but yeah.... my ultimate is by far oatmeal.
cheerios, coco pops, nesquik cereal
cheesy pasta with lots of veggies and shredded chicken
fish fingers!
1. oatmeal with berry flavor nonfat yogurt mixed in..... warm, gooey, sweet, AND good to lower cholesterol!
2. canteloupe slices (50 calories per 1/4 medium melon)
3. HUGE iceberg lettuce salad with warm thin-sliced broiled chicken breast that I marinated in ginger, garlic, and tamari (and if I am feeling extra indulgent, either some fat-free grated cheese or garbanzo beans).... makes me feel like I am pigging out on something gourmet
4. toasted peanut butter sandwich (the only good thing about this one is that the peanut butter is 25% less fat variety)
- Whole wheat chex w/soymilk (I let it get really soggy. ^^)
- Natural PB on a slice of wheat bread
- Bananas
- Vegan Boca Burgers!! (just plain. So good!)
- A toasted whole wheat pita or bagel
- A hot cup of green tea
toasted light english muffin with laughing cow or fat free cream cheese
special k waffle with naturally more peanut butter
healthy (or atleast low cal) french toast that i make
grapes, apples, pineapple
grilled chicken
steamed broccoli (i dip it in ketchup. mmmm weird)
hot chocolate
and baking anything and eating some of the batter (i dont care about the finished product haha)
