Safety Issue Question

Quote  |  Reply
I just finished the walk away the pounds video..and i feel great..i look forward to doing it again actually. It served its purpose allowed me to get a more efficient walk (3 miles) even with my two small boys playing in the floor..so long to that bulky stroller with 65lbs of kids in it!!!

My question is since i feel so good that i made it thru my first exercise video ever, is it safe to do it again b4 i head to bed tonight or wait and do it in the morning?

who knows i may move on to that tae bo video that i never thought i could do..look out now!!

It's just walking so I think it's ok.

Why do you need a video to teach you how to walk?
Congrats on finishing your first video!  I understand how you feel excited about having done it ... but take it slow.

Although I don't think it would "hurt" you - I don't think you should do it again so soon.  The reasons are that 1) your muscles have never done this before, so they need time to rest.  Beware of shin splints, pulled muscles, etc. all of which can come from fast-paced walk/run type exercises.  2) you may get sick and tired of it too soon - it's better to be consistent than to do things all at once.  It's better to do it 3-4 times a week than 4 times in one day, for instance.  3)  it will give you something to look forward to tomorrow and keep you motivated for the next time.

Congrats again ... and keep it up!
birdy 22- i didnt need the video to teach me how to walk...i've been walking quite well since i was a toddler..it was more of trying to find a way to get out from under pushing a stroller with my two boys in it....thats gets tiring soon--but thanks for your input as well

zarelha--thanks your advice concerning the fact that I may get bored is right..i think i will wait til morn to go at it again, once again thanks
