Between loosing 90#'s and having two babies the skin on my tummy is pretty saggy anyone know of anything that help tightens it up?

I have some bad news..... you can't tighten up loose skin. I have lost over 200 pounds and had a TON of extra skin on my stomach as I carried most of my weight there. I tried my darndest to tighten in up and no such luck. I went for a free consultation to a plastic surgeon and he said that once the skin is strechted so much for so long it will never refirm up. So last October, on Halloween I had a tummy tuck and although the most painful thing EVER it was SOOOOOOOOOOOOO worth it!!! I lost 8 pounds and inches galore! I would reccommend this option to get rid of the skin. It's too bad our skin is so picky!! :)

I feel your pain too. My boobs look like long tube socks and my tummy well, thank god for control top undies. Sack galore.
How bout it...my stomach is a blob. I hate it. I'm hoping that I'm young enough that there is some bouncy bouncy left in it...but I doubt it. I certainly am not gonna spend tons of money on a tummy tuck, damnit.
ok- after 2 children and all the weight loss and running I do there is still a pooch. i don't think it is something that will EVER go away. Contemplating tummy tuck- so, princessjenn30, on a scale of 1-needle prick to 10-childbirth, how bad was the pain? Oh, an canadianchick- i agree with you about the boobs. breastfeeding does it's numebr on them :-)
'Tain't breastfeeding; plain ol' pregnancy/childbirth is what does the boobs in.

How fast did you lose jen & princess?
funny you mention this last night i noticed some loose skin around my belly that was not there before I only can thing its from where i have lost weight and the skin has not shrunk yet
This is so depressing. So once I lose all my weight I am going to be stuck shoving excess skin in my jeans?
Not necessarily, Salome. Working out can help make your stomach stretch back. I've lost 50 lbs. and no sagging skin.
I suspect that the quicker you lose , the less likely it is to shrink...I hope... :)
I think that's part of it. I think working out helps your stomach shrink back as well. :)
I hope so - I guess that is why it is important to incorporate exercise and toning.
Jenesch do you exercise and tone?

I started taking pilates over a month and a half ago and noticed my tummy tighting up and not to mention how much stronger my core feels.......maybe try giving some core exercising a try?.....I used to think pilates soley worked the tummy but i found out it works the whole body I always feel energized afterwards! I know we cant get rid of streched out skin but it doesnt hurt to give something like pilates a try
I have to say this is not my experience. I have noticed my skin changing in texture and tightening recently, starting in my shoulders and the backs of my thighs but now starting on my stomach. I guess we will see if it continues but I think the exfoliation I do is pushing that along.
ruthie-do you take pilates at an actual gym? I have the videos and can't seem to make it work at shrinking the pooch- any suggestions?
I would say that on a scale of 1-10, the pain was about a 8. You have drain tubes and a big stitch across your entire stomach. They give you good pain meds and if you can, get a pain pump, that helps a lot!! I would do it again in a minute!!
It took me 3 years to lose the weight and that was on Weight Watchers, NO SURGERY and excersising everyday! In fact, I have only missed 1 day in 3 years!!!!!!!!!

congrats on being so dedicated to excersising!! A lot of people I know should take your advice and will and do it. Kudos!!
Hey Salome
I also did the only way with diet and exercise, lots of excercise anywhere from1-2 hours per day with resistance training. My abs are rock solid underneath and my boobs may look like deflated balloons but the sag isn't as bas as it could be seeing as I nursed each baby for a full year. I'm pretty sure all I've got left is the tummy tuck, and having had natural childbirth I hope it won't be too painful.
kathygator I hit my high of 250 in 1999 got down to 200 in 2001 got pregnant got back down to 200 in 2003 got pregnant got down to 185 in November 2005 got stuck. In July I found the joy that is calorie-count and today I weighed in at 163 and a size 8.

Well that is the pits. If you are able to do a tummy tuck I hope it isn't too painful for you.
I want to be comfortable in my body someday.

I'm totally confortable in my own skin when I'm dressed but I would love to feel even a little cute in my undies.
