Hi all, I'm a newbie, (2 weeks), lost 2kgs. first wk. put it back on 2nd wk!
I think that back there somewhere (back there being mind? subconcious?)
I have a fear of saggy, baggy skin. The more I lose the saggier & baggier,
& its not just in my mind, I'm still carrying about a lovely skin apron (lovely?)
from when I lost 20kgs. a few years back. I've since put 15kgs. back on.
Want to start again (loosing weight) but I don't want s., b., skin.
any suggestions?  Smile

In general, slower weight loss should yield less baggy skin, but if you have a lot to lose, it's entirely possible that your skin won't be able to keep up.

Unfortunately, older skin doesn't snap back as quickly as younger skin. I think some people have found massaging with cream has helped (but I don't know if that's just marketing), and I would guess that having good nutrition and drinking lots of water would help, but I also know that some people do end up deciding that they should have the extra skin surgically removed.

Sorry, I guess that wasn't too helpful. Best of luck!

I am 49 and paranoid about this. I have lost 9 kilos so far and seem to be winning the war against sagginess. I am doing all the things suggested by amethystgirl and not sure which one(s) are working.

I am trying not to lose more than half a kilo per week by keeping my deficit around 500. At one point a few days ago I lost 1 kg very fast, and felt squishy/saggy, so I decided to eat more to reverse/slow down the weight loss. It seems to have worked...I gained it back and that horrible squishiness has gone away. I am back on a 500 deficit now. I am sure that slow weight loss helps.

I am not sure about the other things but I am doing them all! I eat healthy food, including healthy fat from nuts and olive oil. I massage with creams and body lotion. I also drink lots and lots of water and green tea.

I exercise and do some yoga. I have read your profile and understand that you have problems with your leg. Maybe you could try to do some slow exercises while sitting down if you can.

Not sure if any of this helps... best of luck with your goals Smile

Hi amethystgirl, thank you for your response, guess I can try the massaging & lots of water, I'm way too old for surgery & I believe skin reduction is major surgery and what with me being a major coward..........no need to be sorry, loved hearing from you, best of luck to you tooSmile

Hello sireenb, I think you're pretty right, slow & steady is probably the answer,
amethystgirls suggestions can't hurt though, I know drinking a lot of water is
good for you & massaging helps a lot, especially with any stretch marks.  You mentioned green tea, do you find that's any good as an appetite suppressant?
Bye for nowSmile

It works for me. When I crave unhealthy food, I drink green tea before eating. Sometimes I end up not eating after all. Even if I do eat, I eat a lot less.
