Hi everyone!
Ok, I am going to be really honest here, I HATE SEA FOOD!! Well everything that comes out of the sea basicly! I don't know why I never ever liked it. The down part is that there are so many benifits to eating fish.
Now this is here that I need you guys help!
Would any body have recepies on how to cook salmon so that you can barely or not even tast the fish at all? I want to start eating salmon but everything I try it I just can't eat it!
Thank's!
Why do you want to start eating something you cannot stand? If you really want the benefit of the Omega-3s, get yourself some fish oil capsules and get it that way. And no, not being facetious - I'm serious, I hate (ew, ick, yuck) lima beans, and nothing short of guaranteeing me 36-24-36, independent wealth, and the face of Angelina Jolie (Penelope Cruz, Catherine Zeta-jones, etc) would get me to eat them....
Salmon can be cooked so that it is barely perceivable as a fish, but there is always just a touch, you'd really have to disguise it with sauces and marinades.
Check out the vitamin aisle, and see if capsules might work for you
How about eating it as a salmon burger? Mix veggies (I like onions and spinach) along with an egg into the salmon then season with salt/pepper and divide into patties. Usually takes few minutes per side then you are done. I like using horseradish and mustard for this- totally covers it up for me.
*note: I personally noticed this worked best with canned salmon, not fresh/frozen whole salmon.
I also love to marinade it in teriyaki, soy, brown sugar and ginger but it is high in sodium so I tend to drink a lot of water on those days when I make it, sooo good with stir-fry veggies, egg and rice!!!
ETA: As the above said- supplement yourself with some fish oil if you truly cannot stand salmon. Why torture yourself? :) Ground flaxseed is also another good source of Omega 3 and you can mix it in just about everything, bit calorific but well worth it. Usually found in cereal/baking aisles near cornmeal/flour.

I'm assuming it's the "fishy" taste that turns you off to seafood. Why not try a milder fish like Tilapia that barely has any fish taste at all? Why salmon?
It is the fishy taste that turns me off. I just heard that it was really healthy to eat fish like salmon, but if there is a type of fish that has a lot of health benefits and that those not have that strong taste, I'll try it. :)
Salmon is incredibly healthy, no doubt about it - and the benefits to this kind of "oily" fish are replicated in other oily fishes too, such as mackerel and sardines (though if you're not into "fishy" tastes I'm doubting you'll like either! Tuna is also a good source if you're keen. But a regime of omega 3 supplements will certainly do the trick without the taste! There are even "odourless" varieties on the market. As someone else has suggested, flax seeds are also a great source, and cold-pressed flax oil is another alternative. My parents eat a lot of fish, and they make sure to take their fish oil supplements thrice daily - they find that this assists them not only in maintaining optimal physical health, but has "worked wonders" for mental/emotional stability to boot.
You might try buying very fresh, wild caught sockeye or coho salmon at least once. It will be expensive, but that fishy taste you describe is (in my experience, at least) a product of low quality fish that has been canned or improperly stored. Although I must admit I kind of dig the fishy taste, so my advice may not hold water.
Also, why not go Japanese style? Or perhaps a few slivers of smoked salmon?

I was thinking the same thing. Tilapia, flounder, or some other kind of white fish might be more to your liking and you'll still get health benefits, probably not as good as salmon, but if like it better, you'll be more likely to eat it.
mix fish with mashed potato - serve with salad cream. i love it ![]()
If you really cannot bear fish, you should try grass-fed and grass-finished red meats from beef, bison, elk, ostrich, goat and lamb... They have all the benefits of fish, but without the guilt of consuming loads of mercury.... Honestly, look into these meats if you really don't eat seafood because you need omega-3 fatty acids!
You can also use flaxseeds and flaxseed oil in cereal, dressings, salads, etc... The fat in flaxseed oil is converted into the type of fat fish carry in your body which reaps benefits as well!
flaxseed - (or linseed... ) i bought some yesterday - but i can't find the difference between goldren or brown - giasbash - do you know??
Morey's Brand has a marinated verison that I think masks some of the fishyness. But I do like fish so I'm not sure how helpful I can be. It's tasty for sure though!

Yeah morey's makes a marinated salmon. The marinade is really strong...salty and spicy. If you cook the salmon with the extra sauce from the packet (it comes individually frozen) it does tend to overpower any "fishy" taste. But then again, I also like fish. But when I had them all I really tasted was the marinade.
