What do you use salsa with other than corn chips?? (too high in cals and unhealthy, in my opinion!)
Looking for some creative ways to use this stuff!
i dont think there is anyone who eats as wierd and unusual as i do and iam a l w a y s making something new and trying something out
But anyway , putting 1/2 cup of dry oats , 1 cup of water, Handfull or so of carrots , some brocolli or what ever veggies you love. and cooking it for 10 minutes in the microwave and topping with salsa is AMAZING
No one believes me but seriously , give it a try
its good with chicken to! or any meat!
roast some veggies and top them with salsa. veryyyy yummy.
or make your own "corn chips" by baking some corn tortillas in the oven. very low in fat compared to the bagged kind and way cheaper.
Salsa on grilled/baked tilapia or salmon fillets = delicious! (Suggested by me for my dad as a new low cal and healthy seasoning for fish. He has to carefully monitor his foods since his heart attack. He gave me the "two thumbs up" approval on it.)
Salsa on real corn tortillas (they are small, and very low cal), baked in oven and topped with grated/shredded cheese = my own mini Mexican pizza
Salsa on celery sticks
Salsa on top of polenta
Salsa and scrambled eggs
Salsa in between a folded omlete
Salsa mixed with brown rice
Salsa on a hamburger pattie
(And the salsa my family uses is from Costco - it is a Mango Peach salsa - not spicy and just sweet enough! Very good, chunky and very low cal.)
Everyone thinks this is a weird dish but it is so yummy and very simple to make, brown rice, 1 can of tuna fish and salsa mix it together and you have a very healthy and satisfying meal.
