Does this change your opinion on her?  Does it change your voting preference?

Anyone have more info on it?  All I have found is:

"Sarah Palin had an affair back in 1996.  She hooked up with Brad Hanson (He was married as well) who use to be part owner of a snowmobile dealership with her husband Todd Palin.  This affair broke up their business friendship but it didn’t stop the affair.  Sarah continued to see Brad as he became a city council member in the nearby town of Palmer."

This just makes me laugh.  I don't understand how anyone can take her seriously.  She is source of humor for me.

Do people really think politicians lead perfect lives? Geez she's like the new Brittney Spears the way the media keeps talking about her (I'm not even American and I hear about it).

I haven't heard about this...I'm looking at the news now and I don't see it. This whole election disgusts me. Even the candidate I'm voting for.

How does Sarah Palin's affair make her any better or worse of a politician?

Politicians are fully capable of being as hypocritical as us non-politicians are.

I just googled this out of curiosity and it came from the Enquirer. Only the Enquirer. Enough said. No need to wonder if it's true.

Why do people read the Enquirer? Why is that piece of crap mag still selling copies? Who are the freaking idiots that buy it and keep it in business?

No it doesn't sorry.

Story is crap.   If it were true, the main stream media would have picked it up.  Look into stories a little bit more before you post, please.

Even if it were being reported by a reliable news source, not really.

She already has strikes against her without baseless rumor mongering.

The OP didn't say that they agreed with it, and also said that they only had a snippet of info. I believe all they are asking is if true would it change your opinion on her? Lighten up.

Andie-joe- The OP's first words were "Does this change your opinion on her?  Does it change your voting preference?", THEN asked for more info.  That would indicate that the OP is leaning towards the story as true.

Nope. Even if it were true. Bill Clinton, anyone?

Or JFK ?

crazineko, which if that is what they are thinking then that is their right, but they are still only asking if it would change anyone else view on her.

would it seem worse because she is a woman?  Not WOULD it be worse...but would it SEEM worse...honestly...

the OP is just asking if...not casting judgement it seems to me.

the national enquirer first reported that john edwards had an affair n no one believed it  at first, so as much as i hate the NE dont dismiss it.

Exactly what i was thinking, politicians are human as well but once they do something and it gets to the public hell freezes over.

"the national enquirer first reported that john edwards had an affair n no one believed it  at first, so as much as i hate the NE dont dismiss it."

Right.  But, then the national enquirer also has reported on a man that turns into a bat and alien babies.  The difference with the john Edwards story is that Drudge, Fox, and CNN checked out the story, and validated it.

This story is not backed with anything, because it is a crap story.  If it were true, you better believe every single news media would have picked it up in early September.
I've heard this before. I don't know if it was true or not... but if it is, it only reinforces, for me, how big of a hypocrite Sarah Palin is. That said, those sorts of things don't influence how I vote. And Sarah Palin has enough serious negative things about her that I wouldn't vote her way anyway.

"But, then the national enquirer also has reported on a man that turns into a bat and alien babies."

Wrong magazine. National Enquirer only reports on celebs (my mom, sadly, buys this magazine).
Don’t get me wrong, I give the OP the benefit of the doubt.   It’s just rule of thumb before posting something like that (because it is so controversial) would be to google it and see if the main stream news media has validated it.   It would be like me posting :

Title: Obama is a Muslim.

I can’t believe this!  Does this change your opinion??

“some random crazy few sentences from a crazy magazine talking about how Obama is a muslim”

Is it true?

If I actually posted this, there would be a WHOLE LOT of people going wtf??  Why?  Because I didn’t check my facts and because of the way the post it laid out.  Some people ACTUALLY believe this nonsense.

PS:  Obama is not a Muslim…

It's unfortunate that unsubstantiated claims can be broadcast to the detriment of an individual's life and livelihood, but in the case of politicians, celebrities and other public figures, it's a very real "cost of doing business".

As a Canadian, I can only comment as an interested bystander, but it would seem to me that, if the foundation of your campaign is "family values", you should fully expect to have your family life thrust into the public spotlight.  Similarly, if you stand for green initiatives, you'd better expect full public disclosure of every gas-guzzler you've ever owned, and if your platform is equal rights, your voting track record on issues ranging from the Equal Rights Amendment to the Matthew Shepherd Bill is going to make headlines.

It's not enough for a candidate to be young, or attractive, or black or a woman, they must also personify the party line - now and historically.  So, if this turns out to be factual, my opinion is that Ms. Palin is not representative of her party or the party supporters, and that hypocrisy would make her a detriment to the organization.
