Hey everyone. I think i've sorted my computer now, fingers crossed any way!
Haven't had time to log my food let alone snacks recently really sorry- I've got a second job now as well as college so im a busy girl!
This morning i was 167lbs which i was really suprised about as haven't been very healthy AT ALL recently!!
Is there really only 4 members now? What happened to everyone?!

I didn't check in this morning! Here goes:

I hope this gain is muscle--I'm just now starting to find the strength training a real effort. So far I've been consistent with it.
OK; I'm starting to get bummed! 236 this morning! But I sat here after weighing and and after a good legs workout with some cardio before and after and decided to do something really basic; look at my calories for the weeks before my weight loss and those before my weight gain. I know I've been snacking more at night unless I am working, but I know I had some really heavy calore days even the weeks I lost.
What I found that I have average about 200 calories more per day the last two weeks than I did the two weeks prior to my weight losses. I know, that's common sense Bob and duh, if you eat more you'll gain and eat less you'll lose. But with some of those really big meal days those weeks I lost I didn't realize that my average daily intake was actually less! You would think that a day I eat like 4000 calories (and yes I had one of those and another at around 3K) would throw my CC way off for the weekly average and I'd gain. I guess I was more restrained and conservative the rest of the week those two weeks when I saw a loss. Istill think some might be muscle, I am able to lift more at the gym, and am doing more legs, but I can feel some in my waist.
Hope you all did well this week. I'll check in to see. TTYL!
Wahoo finally lost! Am 166lbs but its the time of the month so that might be why. Am thinking positive though and loss is still loss ![]()
Hows everyones snacking going?
How about people list a few (healthy) things that they like to snack on??
I'm one for cashew nuts which i know they are really calorific but sometimes i reeeeally fancy some! Snackajacks are great; rice crackers basically and they have a massive range so could have some popcorn or some salt and vinegar rice snacks. Also i drink a lot of tea... but maybe thats because im english hehe does fill me up well though so its a good tip.
Have a good week everyone! x

I hope the gain is muscle--my arms are bigger. But really, a fluctuation of a pound isn't that unusual for me.
Snacks: mostly apples. I eat two a day on most workdays. I sometimes eat pretzels, five for 110 calories. Celery or radishes, which I don't count. This time of year, I pick dandelion leaves as I'm walking. If I see cherries or plums, I'll take advantage, but that's getting rarer and rarer.
Most days, I eat ten raw almonds, and if I think I'm going to have a late lunch or dinner, I take about thirty grams of nuts with me. I like almost all nuts, and try to have them raw.
I do have chocolate, and mostly stick to dark, which I really like better anyway. My favorite is Dagoba Xocolatl, but I eat lots of different kinds. Where I live, Baker's Unsweetened is always on sale after the holidays, and I stock up on that--always have, actually. I eat about 50 calories at a time of whatever kind I have, usually not more than twice a week. During tax season I treated myself a little more, even sometimes late at night, after I'd finished something.
Wow Dinarly, you seem really regimented! Not that that is a bad thing. My problem is that I sometimes have a hard time limiting myslef to a serving or two. Don't know why; most of the time I can and even get looks from people when I measure things out rather than just pour a bowl or cereal, measure out lean ground beef for a burger, weigh a pork chop, etc...
I like to snack on Wasa crackers with Laughing Cow Light Cheese or Wasa with some Nutella - but that is where I am weak. 1 or 2 Tbsp. is not too bad and has some healthy fats (but too much sugar) but I tend to have a hard time stopping and I end up eating 6 or 8 Wasa's (not bad) and 6 Tbsp. Nutella! At 169 calories per two Tbsp. that's like 510 calories! Yikes!
I know I can do better and will. Other "good" snacks include:
Omega 3 Pita with Chicken or Turkey Breast and Fat Free Cheese
Light N' Fit Yogurt
1 C. Oatmeal with Tsp. Naturally More Peanut Butter (Lower fat, higher protien, plus Flax)
Kashi Crunchy! Snack Bars - Lots of Fiber and Protien, Low fat
Dark Chocolate - Although I'm not that restrained to only have unsweetened.
That's it for now. Later!
Hello,
I am new to this site and am wondering if it is ok to join the weigh in?
I have 2 children and am Australian but live in Spain.
It would be really good to have some people to encourage etc with weight loss.
I want to compete in a running race in November in Spain so I really need some kick up the butt to get myself motivated.
If you have any advice or tips on how to keep and stay motivated it would be greatly appreciated.
Andrea...
Sure--what's your goal weight, and what did you weigh yesterday? (or today?)
What a wonderful place that must be--on the coast and near Pamplona. I've only been as far north as Madrid, and really only at the airport between flight legs, but look forward to seeing much more of Spain when I retire.
I only no kilos,if it need to be in lbs do you no how to work it all out?
My goal weight that i would like to be is 50kgs.My current weight is 61kgs.
Yeah it is nice here,we are near San Sebastin so the beach is not too far away.
Lost a pound this week! Cool! I'm going to shake up the diet; lore protien, less (but not none) carbs. I think that is what works for me. I cannot do the no carbs thing. Too restrictive and who can only eat meat, fats and dairy?
May 31: 175.8 # (same as the start of this month!)
Can't tell whether it's muscle or not--probably not. I did find myself getting dehydrated, so am trying to drink more water.
I was sick yesterday, left work a little early. Didn't eat much, and what I did eat was not terribly good--a lot of white rice, and I drank a hot Coke. It did make me feel better, phosporus and HFCS and all.
May 31st: Have lost 1.5kgs
Start weight:61kgs
Current weight:59.5kg
Hey all.
Am 165lbs
1lb to go till my first goal.
Then my next goal is 154lbs as that is well into the healthy BMI.
You can drink hot Coke?? Isn't that a bit gross??
Andreal21 you were134.5 lbs now 131.18 so a loss of 3.31!
1kg = 2.2 lbs ... i Googled it lol i'm not that clever ![]()
Keep it up everyone
xx
OK; 236 this week. So I'm on a mild roller coaster. 1 lb. down, 1 lb. up. Been a little better with snacking... Eating more proyiens and complex carbs but less carbs overall.
Grat job Lucydawn! It must feel good to be almost at that first goal. Heck, you're probably there by now, that posting is a week old.
Andreal21; you are apparently a calorie burner! Great loss!
Dinarly: I can't even stomach the thought of any hot soda; especially Coke. Hope you are feeling better!
Later all!
Hey, 166. Gained 1lb!
Is it true that if you eat too much salt you retain water? I eat a lot of salty foods and tend to put salt onto my other food...
Am gunna try and exercise see if that helps me shift the lbs. Keep at it everyone xx
Sorry I didn't check in earlier--need to update the graph and upload it...
I've gained again, this time to 179.6. I have lost circumference in my legs, and gained it in arms, which is good, so I won't complain. I think some of the gain may really be muscle.
I have no idea how the machines I'm using at the recreation center compare to real weights. I'm steadily progressing on those terms, though.
One trap I think I may be falling into is that of not moving as much during the day, because I'm tired from the exercise. I'm still at a very beginning level.
Hot Coke (I should really say warm, as in not refrigerated) is an old remedy for nausea. Coca-Cola syrup is better, as it has no carbonation, but we don't have any. I'm going to get some more, since it's good to always have some around.
I'll try to get the graph posted. I'm in the process of cleaning up, which involves a lot of throwing out. I hate it, so I procrastinate.
Good week this week. 233! And I've been doing just cardio for the last two weeks due to a shoulder muscle strain. I'm hoping I won't over do it this weekend being Fathers' Day and all. Planning on going to a FD brunch on Sunday. But I'll try to be good the rest of the weekend to prepare / make-up for it.
Hope you are all doing well.
06/14/08: 175.2 #.
Finally down a bit. I'm really trying to drink more water and get more sleep.
Bad week this week. I didn't even weigh in. I was sick as a dog Wednesday - Friday and I ate whatever I could keep down. The body craves strange things when it is ill: potato chips, waffles, oatmeal. I guess things that wouldn't upset the stomach too much and gave me some sodium (although I really doubted the chips; they made me feel a lot better) and absorb acids.
Stll a bit of an upset stomach but not too bad. I'm not sure if it was food poisoning or a viral thing; either way it blows! We'll see next week!
