SAVING calories till dinner

Quote  |  Reply

my dads making it hard for me to eat healthily

the whole eat dinner at 9-10 on average days AND i MUST clean my plate......

and my plate consists of RICE... which for some reason i HATE b/c the taste+ texture...........

so i usually just end up not eating it till the end when i'm already full on other crap from our dinner table...... then my dad FORCES me to eat that extra yucky rice... which i do . and i feel so bloated and fat :*(.......... and i dont get hungry for breakfast (another problem with me) and i'm not active at all.... so i'm so fat these days :*(...

how should i deal with this?....... should i just stop eating by 3:30 and wait till dinner?................ just so i can "save my calories?"

SS to hear about your struggle.  I've been losing weight steadily and I do eat about half of my daily calories for dinner and a snack later.  I think what is most important is to stay within your overall daily limit.  Good luck!

It's a bit of a cop-out to blame other people for what you eat or don't eat.   Are you quite young?  Try taking some responsibility for yourself, however old you are, rather than whining.  Skipping breakfast will make you fat, do you know that?  And being inactive is entirely your decision.  So eating breakfast and getting more active are two things positive you can do for yourself straight away.

Communicate....   Talk to your father about how you feel about being overweight (is your BMI greater than 25?), tell him why you don't like rice and ask him how you can work together to resolve the problem.   Clearly he has no idea what you're thinking & how you're feeling and is simply concerned about feeding his family as best he can.   Food's very expensive these days so no-one can afford to see it wasted.   Ask to be served a smaller amount perhaps?  Offer to help in the kitchen so that meals are more to your liking?  Suggest serving more vegetables and salads with supper?

Take a more constructive and less petulant approach and you may get somewhere.
