Scale fears...
Okay so I just got back from a 6 day vacation and I am fearing the scale on friday. I am not going to weigh myself until then, which is my usual weigh in, to help balance out some of the water weight. Unfortunately my eating didn't go quite as planned. My friend whom I stayed with knows I am on a diet and did all this shopping and planning to help me but as life goes we ended up eating out more then planned and his idea of health food was fried okra. "Hey its a vegetable he told me." I didn't do as bad as I could of. When we went out I only ate half my meal, ordered the best thing I could on the menu and cooked as many meals as possible at his house to lighten it up a little and ate a lot of salad. But I know I went over every freakin day!!! I was in the south and way out it the country. And of course I was my usual self and didn't want to offend my host.
All the planning in the world and UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just had to vent.
haha./yeah weigh ins are scary...im gonna weigh myself tomorrow..i've been increasing my calorie intake from 1200 . my aim is to reach 1500 but im so scared that ill gain all this weight which wont shift even when my body adjusts.
I had an incredibly bad weekend food-wise. We're talking nachos and queso, cookies, fried fish, wine, etc... but, I started over yesterday and ended up weighing myself this morning. Turns out, I was only .2 up from last week's weigh in... I usually don't weigh in till Thursday, but all of the self-loathing was too much and I just needed to see where I stood. Now, I am motivated to get back on track... that little blip in my weight actually is going to turn into a motivator! Good luck and remember everyone has weeks/days like that, it's what you do afterwards that matters! :-)
Wow I'm in the exact same situation. I went to the beach with my boyfriend's family for six days. Typically I am heading towards vegan and mostly eat nuts, veggies, fruits, brown rice, berries.. I ate out twice a day almost every day, snacks, desserts, etc. Lots of cheese, chips, sugar. Also went from running every day to not at all during the trip. I thought I was going to gain so much weight so the night I came back (last night) I was really upset and binged on ice cream and cake! (a sickly amount of each). This morning I weighed myself and it turned out I only gained two pounds. Now I feel stupid that I went and binged.. and in addition to feeling mentally bad I feel physically sick and gross from it. Hopefully that binge was part of those 2 lbs :/
anyway long-winded story but I just wanted to say everyone tends to gain a little weight on vacation (especially when you're trying to be a gracious guest), but its probably less than you think. And it usually comes off quickly. (: Good luck
Last month I went on a trip to the beach for a week. I did no purposeful exercise. I ate about 1,000 over maintenance pretty much everyday. I came back, weighed the day after, and was the same. I dropped 2 lbs. the next 2 weeks after that, still without a drop of exercise. That was weird.
You're more active on vacation, so chances are you're burning more than you're regular maintenance too.
I just got back from my 1 week vacation on Friday and I thought I would've gained at least 5 pounds because I ate out at least once a day, and went to the chinese buffet (ate way too much), and basically just sat around in the hot tubs all day (fun, but not very active). Came back home and I'd only gained 2.4 lbs, and now 3 days later I'm already down to 231.2 below when I left 231.6. So don't worry about it too much, just go back on the diet after vacation and in a few days you'll be good : )
