scale issues!! anyone else?

I've been trying to lose weight for the past month now and it is soooo hard!!! I know I've kind of been cheating here and there but for the most part according to this website I've kept up w/ my caloric intake..Not only that but I've been drinking tons and tons of water. The scale has been schizophrenic on me as of late. My start out weight was 148 and I'm 5'5.....the lowest I've gotten was 139 then the very next day I weighed myself I was back to 143. Now this morning I'm 148...and jus a few hours later..145...I know i shouldn't weigh myself everyday or even this frequently but I'm only doing it because my scale is totally confusing me. Now I just bought this scale so I don't see how it could be wrong..Does anyone have any opinions? Is this yo yo dieting? But even so.....who gains 5 lbs after one day and then loses it the next?...When I saw the 139 I got very excited..my goal weight by november or so is 120-125...the very next day I was back to the mid 140s from 139!! I'm totally frustrated and as of late I've been cheating a lot because this losing weight thing has NOT been easy and the scale has just been pissing me off. . Any suggestions? Any reasons for why my scale is doing this? Anyone else have this problem?!

My scale has being really weird lately too. It was fine before but yesterday it said I was 110...then I got on a minute after and I was 117. Funny, because the day before that I was 130. I highly doubt I dropped 20 pounds overnight because it sure doesn't look it LOL.
do you weigh yourself at the same time?

Need to weigh at same time each day (if weighing daily) and in the same condition (before eating, after bathroom, etc.) and scale must be on hard surface (floor), not on rug or carpet. Will give inaccurate reading on flexible surface.

Not unusual to vary 2-3# day to day. If 5 or more, something is wrong with scale or your method of using it.

If the variance bothers you, just weigh weekly and use the weight chart here to see your average. That will likely trend downward long term if you are eating right and exercising.

I'm having the same problems with my scale. I'm a large person. so brace yourself! About 3 weeks ago, my digital scale read 346, then 319, and now I'm 328..quite confusing.

I'm watching what I eat and staying slightly below my daily recommended calorie intake. I also drink a lot of water. I'm going crazy over this scale. I think it's just me. I don't know.
My weight fluctuates by about 5 lbs a day due to water and food in my system. Now I will not take the reading seriously unless it is first thing in the morning (after not eating anything since dinner the night before) after I use the bathroom, and naked.

Too much information, I know..lol but it is the only way that I can get an accurate reading. Usually by mid afternoon I have so much water in my system that there is no way that it could be accurate.
Here is a dumb thing that caught me.

I used to weigh myself and balance a little by holding onto the wall.  But not every time.  My weight would be really wonky on top of wonky.  Well, duh!  Instant weight loss.  My arm was being supported by the wall, which meant its weight was not being transferred through my body to the scale.

Make sure you arent doing anything dumb like that when measuring yourself.
haha! i had the same issue a couple of weeks ago -- my scale would magically either drop 15 pounds or i'd gain 10 in 30 seconds heh...so i'd test it with a hand weight of 15 lbs...if it was right on the scale, then i'd get on...but i found even then it was still a bit wonky...so now i just weigh myself when i go to the gym and use their scale...i find it's far more accurate, and since i go to the gym at the same time every morning before work, it really helps me track my weight
OMG the scales are all possesed !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mine has been doing this for 2 weeks what the heck is going on in the world of scales.......... I was 182 then 185  then 190 now 185 I don't get it. and I do weigh myself the same time everyday.

annex I also tested mine and it was right as well......
My scale is just downright stubborn!  It refuses to go below 186.5.  Then once in a while It likes to tease me & move in the other direction instead...just so I know it's not broken and it could go down if it wanted too...but it clearly is refusing to do so.  I'm not very impressed with it right now, I must say!  :P
